Romantic or not, Jon and Sansa’s Relationship is one of the best on the show.
Exactly! Whether it was Romantic or Familial Jon chose to kill Dany in order to protect Sansa because he Loved her more.
@@TheMuph yes he loved her more than dany but IMO from scenes they shot with these two that resembled several dany / jon romantic scenes I don't believe jons love for sansa was just "family" I think in the last two books will get more answers about jon and sansa and not half truths show gave us .it will also explain why actors felt confused shooting some scenes .
Yeah, I'm definitely not into it in a romantic way because they were raised very much as siblings and that just gets icky for me haha, BUT, as siblings? Their relationship is amazing :) I love how, as much as they can have very different points of view on things and don't always see eye to eye, it's so clear how fiercely they love and care about each other.
Justagirl I find it personally inappropriate to think of them as anything but siblings but I kind of agree that it was played really weird, especially on Kit’s part. Their roles were written as oddly domestic with them filling the Lord and Lady of the house positions and there were enough lingering touches and tension filled gazes that were just edging off platonic.
But the reuniting of them as a family is absolutely beautiful. I love that they’re the brother and sister who didn’t get along with each other but found each other first and became the home that they each needed. Anyone who is surprised that he chose Sansa (and by extension Arya and Bran) over Dany must have been sleeping through the last few seasons.
He was never going to make a different choice.
Sansa is really Jon's trigger point. Mention hurting Sansa in any way, he'll definitely kill you himself. It could be his brotherly love for her but it surely is very strong.
Vee I think he would have done the same for Arya and bran. They are the only 3 remained in his stark family. He killed Dany who was also his last Targaryan family member from his father side. So technically he is the last male targaryan remain in the entire GoT world.

Agree but Sansa would wack Jon in 2 seconds to be Queen of the North.
Jon was FULLY prepared to remain Danys bitch even after she torched Kings Landing! The only thing that made him change his mind and end Dany was Arya and Tyrion mentioning how Sansa wouldn't bend the knee and thus was in danger.
If this doesn't happen in the books... I'll riot!!!
As wrong as it is considering they are cousins, they clearly had chemistry that was more than a familial bond

Eh i mean in this world it’s not a big deal...all of royalty, even in our world, was related in some way or another. Down to cousins.
Stark's marry their cousins and Targaryen's marry their sisters, so it's completely normal. Ned married outside of the family for political reasons (because the north needed an ally from the Riverlands during the mad kings reign) otherwise Stark's typically marry within themselves. They don't like southerners and another reason why there is a side branch called the Karstark's.
Diamond marrying cousins is normal still in modern world. Cousins are not directly related by blood they share some dna portion not much. So it’s completely normal. In Islam people still marry their cousins in their family and its allowed if the family agrees. But relationship between own siblings, aunt, uncle, mother, mother, grandparents is incest which is complete illegal.

This video is just a piece of art! Absolutely amazing! I think Jon subconsciously loved Sansa very much. But maybe denied it in reality because it seemed odd to love Ned Stark's daughter as he considered and respected Ned as father. In season six before the battle of bastards, when Sansa told she won't go alive if Ramsay wins, Jon was clearly horrified. He later asked the red woman not to resurrect him this time because he could never bear the agony of losing Sansa.
Same thing happened in last episode of season eight. Daenerys burnt many innocent people in King's landings. Jon was shocked but still somehow decided to stick to Dany's ideology. Arya told him about the upcoming act of Dany and still he wasn’t moved. It was Tyrion whose words actually struck Jon. Just notice when Tyrion mentioned about his sisters, Jon's face was completely changed. Jon's main tension was obviously for Sansa because he knew Sansa would never bend the knee to Dany after the massacre she had done in King's landing. Maybe he had little hope that he would be able to reason with Dany. But when she told, " they don't get to choose" was the final blow for him. His family was his first priority. No matter what happens to him, he can't let happen anything bad to the family and specially Sansa. So, technically my speculation is he killed Dany mainly to protect Sansa and other people. He would never think of killing Dany if his own family wasn’t threatened.
My heart broke when Jon parted with his family. Sansa knew she hurt Jon by breaking oath and of course Jon was hurt! It was clear in his eyes but he couldn’t hate Sansa for that. At fist I thought he would give her a cold shoulder but no! He hugged Sansa as if he didn’t want to let her go! Sansa's tear will always melt his heart. Jon deserved the best. He is the one who sacrificed the most.

OMG, I created my own fanfuction based on these two in the series. But, I paired Jon with Arya in the books. They are connected in thoughts all the time
And I think in the books his love for sansa will be more evident and passionate .HBO writers were too timid to do jonsa although it was there all along they knew one of the most popular characters (dany) was going to die in the end they didn't want to anger the jonerys fandom further .
I think Jon expected sansa to tell everyone.. Clearly u can see him smiling when Varys told him he knows who Jon really is... Why would he have a smile on his face if he was actually hurt.

I totally get it when you say my Jonsa heart needs to be satisfied. I was left wanting them together so bad at the finale. Jon belongs to no one else but Sansa and that's that. The moment he turns @2.41 and relives Sansa waving goodbye for is heartbreaking and the final hug when he doesn't want to ever let her go just gets me!!
The foreshadowing is so heavy specially in the books, I’m sure GRRM is going to go for it, D&D just decided to give Dany all their attention and didn’t have time to develop Jonsa. It’s possible they were afraid it’ll be too much for the audience.
I agree!! The books are it for me. Jon will travel back home eventually and Sansa will be waiting for him.
They _did_ develop Jonsa enough, they just didn't make them end up together.

I think they wanted to build a love story at first but later the producer thought nah it looks weird. Jon will incest with his own aunt. Just like Jaime and cercie thats better. I wanted them to rule as Ned Stark and catlynn Tully they were perfect for each other. Remember starks were used to marry their cousins for generations they only marry outside for only political reasons. Marriage between Ned Stark and catlynn Tully is one of the example of political marriage.

YES! Yes we were! Jonsa is too paralleled to Ned and Catlyn for it to be only a sibling relationship. They have done a tremendous job of repairing their relationship and it is too sweet and real. After S8, I’ve kind of always imagined Jon would go back south (back to Winterfell) at some point in his life. Arya will head home eventually after she is done exploring and seeing the world, Bran will be looking over Sansa, Jon and Arya from time to time.
Jon still loves his home. I do think he’ll spend the majority of his life free with the wildlings, but Winterfell is also a home he can’t get away from.
Besides, he wasn’t banished from the North, just the other 6 realms. He’d come back and settle into a quiet and calm relationship with Sansa once they have lived their lives how they have wanted to first. They are young, they need need to establish their own.

This was such a well edited video. Literally shook by it all I love the scene at 0:58 with the three of them and Jonsa's conversation in the background... "and a targaryen queen". ALSO those two scenes from 1:14 on wards, ACTUAL genius??? I never thought I'd see them being used this way. 2:16 and the hugs that followed? SOOOO lovely (hehe pun). It is just disturbing that people wanted Jon to be with Sansa. They grew up together. In his eyes she will always be his little sister that he loved and was just proud of. Daenerys is and always was his soulmate.

That's a good question I could only see that scenario playing out if they did a re-do of azor ahai story play by play which they didn't .but generally no jon would never kill sansa the only reason he killed dany was because of sansa to save her .he loved sansa more.
He wouldn’t have been able to kill Sansa or any of his siblings, IMO.
They are a far more significant part of his life and history than Dany who he hadn’t even known for very long. Dany was nothing more than an infatuation. He loved his family far more than he ‘loved’ Dany.
When she became his Queen that he was obliged to obey and serve she became his duty. His love for his family trumped that.

@@ashnar1690 because Sansa could see how unstable Daenerys is and while no one else knew about Jon's identity as a Targayen and has bigger claim to the throne, it is easier for Dany to get rid of him.
I have a brother and I would do exactly what Sansa would have done because at the end of the day, the risk is not him losing his heart, but his life!
Keep telling yourself that, the directors, kit and grrm all confirm Jon picked Sansa over Danny. He loved Sansa so much, he killed to protect her.
Only one who truly betrayed jon and many others was Dany and was one of the main reasons jon had to stop her .Sansa did all she could to protect jon only one who spoke up at his trail to save jon and unlike dany encourage him to be a KING something dany wanted to conceal hide.
