I stood on one of these at the old Fort Knox Patton Tank Museum. I was 6'2 as a freshman in HS. The tank was massive. It was my first time seeing one and it was so massive I thought it was a german tank.
I love those videos. I'm not even a model builder myself but its just so relaxing to watch, 30 minutes feel like nothing. Keep it up with more great models!
What an unusual looking tank. I didn't know about any American experimental tanks. I thought this was a more modern like tank just because of the similar NATO looking paint scheme. You have more patience than I have to build all those wheel assemblies and the placing on the teeth on the tracks. Excellent job!
excellent vid and build as always. . your content inspired me to take up the hobby and hone my skills. . i use it alot to reference other beginner modelers like myself. . we're not really brand heavy where I am from but you certainly gave us ideas to open the way to better builds. . keep it up!
Great build Andy! I'm happy stardom has not gone to your head. Now make a website where we can buy kits online from you. Thank and LOVE that camouflage!
Again an excellent video! The production value is going up with every video. There aren't many channels that are as detailed as you are, yet keep it entertaining enough to watch in one sitting. If I can coin a suggestion: Hobby Boss German Boxer MRAV!
I have seen one at the patton museum in FT Knox ky. A range detail cleaning up found a hatch on the ground. they started diggng and seen it was on a turret of some sort. the army then dug it up and seen it was one of these tanks that was buried on that range. so they moved it to the museum it is a huge tank I seen it in 1984 while in basic at FT Knox.
The real tank never had the 155mm and was only called the T95 for a short while. Same tank, only two built both with the 195mm. The “T95” with the 155mm is a WOT or dragon fantasy.
You have some patience with that suspension and track, especially as most it wont be seen. Had it been required this tank would have worked. I recall reading somewhere that when they got to the Maginot Line they wheeled up 155mm artillery and fired at the strong points from (for a 155mm howitzer) close range. They didn't have to penetrate the strong point, the concussion killed anyone still inside.
Joshua Williamson andy sadly said he has discontinued the railroad dio. he was concerned at how much space it would take up. i hate to be the barrer of bad news.
And since it never saw combat painting could be easy....Olive Green with Black Tracks. At least that’s the colors of the one at The Patton Museum at Ft. Knox.
1701spacecadet To be honest, when I open a model for an armored vehicle, and find individual track links, I close the box back up, go build a half dozen airplane models, and maybe a decade or so later, tackle those track links....
Really? If a kit comes with vinyl tracks the first thing I'm gonna do is to throw them in the trash bin. One-piece tracks are always the last option when no metal-tracks nor individual tracks are available (like Centurion or M41).
Qingyun Wang I'm not pro level, and don't ever aspire to be. I like vinyl tracks, they look good enough for me, and individual track links annoy me. Just my opinion
Black vinyl tracks in older 1970s kits really suck. They are often distorted and almost impossible to adhere. Stapler might be the only effective tool. DS tracks from Dragon are OK, but it will deteriorate over the time and eventually shatter into pieces.
If you want to see something wild, find the footage shot at Aberdeen of one of the T28s being test-run on the automotive course. Watching it going over the washboard section gives you an impression of what these behemoths really look like.
Andy, I'm returning to the hobby after a 50 year absence. Boy have things changed from the 50s and sixties. Would you be willing to provide recommended basic list of Tamiya paints for US, German, British, and Russian armor? Vallejo does a nice job of putting together various kits, but Tamiya not so much. I know you use NATO Black, red, flat white, brown, etc. thanks.
Gunze mr hobby paint does a Russian 4bo, and there is a laquer paint from MRP Russia called 'afv green' (MRP-26), that is a good base. Look up Night Shift models.
If anyone's interested in the history behind this tank, I recommend that you check out " a historical overview of the US vehicles using world of tanks" with "The Chieftain" Nicholas Moran. He tells a rather funny story about this very TD.
don't mix fact with wargaming fiction the t28/95 begun it's life as heavy tank t-28 in 1943, then got renamed gmc t95 in 1945 (cause it lacked a turret and had limited mg armament OCM 26898) and then was renamed super heavy tank t28 in 1946 (cause it did not fit well neither in tank not in gmc types OCM 30758) and it always had the 105 mm gun, the only 155 was mounted on the t30 heavy tank
Interesting build Andy , looks like a mechanics nightmare ! the detatchable sponsons must be 20 tons each , hard to see how they a fit onto the main tank , what would stop them "spreading out " at ground level , with the weight of the tank acting on them ??.
Hi Andy! Unfortunately, this model is no longer available anywhere! Still, I want to build from a T28 base kit. How can I get the dimensions of a 155 mm cannon to do with a 3D printer? I don't speak English but Google is my friend! Thanks!
the boxes on the side are so you can take 4 sherman's with you somewhere. I swear my first apartment could fit inside one of those boxes. Did they rename it the T-28? In 2017 they were moving the only one left to a place to restore it, it broke loose from the HET. It rolled down a large ditch and only broke a bogey....try that with an abrams
T-28 is an early russian tank, you might want to ditch the dash :D The complete naming history of this tank is as follows: T28 Heavy Tank -> T95 GMC -> T28 Superheavy Tank So you're somewhat correct, they renamed it T28 as it originally was named, after a short stint (~1 year) as T95
Came across your channel purely by accident a couple of weeks ago, and after watching a bunch of your vid's, I'm actually going back to a hobby I use to do a lot of 10 years ago, but I stopped with for various reasons. But I got a question, why use the TS-80 spray can from Tamiya and not your airbrush for putting dont a clear coat of XF86?
Wow what a monster that is! Reminds me of the A39 Tortoise, so wide, i guess almost too wide haha. The outside row of wheels, could they be detached to allow it to cross bridges, AVLB bridges and for transport?
Andy cool looking Dragon 1/35 T95 super heavy tank one day I'm going to buy a tank and build it my RUclips Channel is on SCIFI kits you do awesome work and like your video builds on your show I learn a lot watching them thanks you have a great day.
Ah, the 'Doom Turtle'...looks great!
Potential history?
I stood on one of these at the old Fort Knox Patton Tank Museum. I was 6'2 as a freshman in HS. The tank was massive. It was my first time seeing one and it was so massive I thought it was a german tank.
I wish I was that tall..
Oh my god its beautiful. So glad someone finally made a good T95 model kit. Thanks for this video!
スーパーウェポンでした👍
You should do a tank wreck or a burnt out tank
jeremiah girdan Check out qdc748a's Channel he did a nice diorama with Tamiya's Panzer ll F
Gervis Prantl I love his channel
I agree on your camo color and pattern choice, looks really nice on that model. The pattern reminds me of 80's European to me
Actually, it's very similar to the 1974-85 MERDC camouflage schemes. Specifically: 'European Verdant Fall'.
A good kit to build during the winter months after you plowed tons of snow.
I love those videos. I'm not even a model builder myself but its just so relaxing to watch, 30 minutes feel like nothing. Keep it up with more great models!
Those bogies gave me flashbacks of horror from the Dragon Easy Eight kit I built. Good lord!
What an unusual looking tank. I didn't know about any American experimental tanks. I thought this was a more modern like tank just because of the similar NATO looking paint scheme. You have more patience than I have to build all those wheel assemblies and the placing on the teeth on the tracks. Excellent job!
Lol the T95 had 2 dreams but :
1. It was late.
2. The Atomic Bomb took over.
Gay Barbosa poor t95 xD
Gay Barbosa and got lost for 28 years
what are those 2 dreams then??
Dreams don't come true :,(
Awesome build Andy. This one will definatly on my list of models to build. Great video ,thanks.
Nice kit, thank you, Andy)
excellent vid and build as always. . your content inspired me to take up the hobby and hone my skills. . i use it alot to reference other beginner modelers like myself. . we're not really brand heavy where I am from but you certainly gave us ideas to open the way to better builds. . keep it up!
As always, great inspiration. Thanks Andy.

Casimir Kulikowski thx
what a fantastic tank .... i love these oddball creations
Keep building at this rate Andy and you blow through all your stock he he .. such an efficient builder
Beautiful model
Great guide Andy. Now I know why my T-28 edition has been in my stash for over two years!
Nice work Andy, this tank looks like a building on tracks ....massive
Great build Andy! I'm happy stardom has not gone to your head. Now make a website where we can buy kits online from you. Thank and LOVE that camouflage!
Again an excellent video! The production value is going up with every video. There aren't many channels that are as detailed as you are, yet keep it entertaining enough to watch in one sitting. If I can coin a suggestion: Hobby Boss German Boxer MRAV!
They also designed its little brother the t28 with the 105
What a monster.... Excellent build ! Keep up the good work.
World of Tanks be like, paint it NATO black and we have a new premium tank to sell.
Tomah4wk Wrong comunity lol, btw : where the new challenges at ?, btw again : have you seen Jim Sterling's videos ?
Tomah4wk Hey there Tomah4wk, any new unicum guides?
Tomah4wk and stick some horrific wargaming league thing like they did with the Chrysler I.
LOL true
WAR THUNDER MASTER RACE
lol
Another great video. Thanks Andy, keep them coming.! 👍🏻
Excellent. What more can be said.
One of these tanks got lost until it was found sitting in the middle of an open field covered by a small bush
There is no "one of these". There is only that one.
Originally two prototypes, one got scrapped after an engine fire.
As always Andy, great work all round, thanks for sharing.
Andy, thank you for posting I really enjoyed it.
Nice video, might start on mine now! I like Dragon rubber band tracks, except for the teeth in this model.
Like always, awesome job!

Love this Monster , heavy , slow like à turtule
Nice work on an interesting kit.
Awesome Camo 💪
Have you considered building a commercial airliner? Like a boeing 787-9 those are fun kits😃
Great job as always Andy !
Wow I wish I had that
Me too
Wow, that thing's a monster!
Love your show, there is a way to make glass like small windows, wood glue, try it.
Turned out great!
All those tiny track parts would drive me crazy putting them on lol
Great model i like it😉
very envy this shop, wish I can have one.
WOW WHAT A TANK NICE JOB
I made the world of tanks model tiger tank, it was hard but fun to make
Always a nice job thank you.
Thank you for watching.

Same tank, only two built both with the 195mm.

Man, mine has 2 gaps that you could probably drop a dime through. Glad you didn't have that problem
nice vid man keep it up
Ah the Doom Turtle, would have been interesting too see it in action.
very very nice!!!!!!!!!!!
awesome video
solid video thank you...
its like the American Maus!!!
Nice kit.
ive seen it in real life.... in 2004.... i hope it goes back on display.
thank you

Hi Andy! I'm 17 and love your work. I'm just curious as to whether of not you will finish the rail road diorama anytime soon. Happy modeling!
Joshua Williamson andy sadly said he has discontinued the railroad dio. he was concerned at how much space it would take up. i hate to be the barrer of bad news.
awesome build. any chance of doing the new trumpeter 1/35 grille/morser 305mm BAR?
a really big one
Awesome Subject how about the M103 Heavy Tank as a suggestion?
And since it never saw combat painting could be easy....Olive Green with Black Tracks. At least that’s the colors of the one at The Patton Museum at Ft. Knox.
That's the only one.
The only other prototype got scrapped after an engine fire rendered it useless
How to give modellers nightmares:
Remove the one-piece tracks and replace with individual track links.....
1701spacecadet To be honest, when I open a model for an armored vehicle, and find individual track links, I close the box back up, go build a half dozen airplane models, and maybe a decade or so later, tackle those track links....

I don't think the T95 ever had the 155mm gun. As far as I know, it only had the 105mm.
Brett Hobbs the 155mm gun on the T95 was made up by world of tanks, and no such proposal to put a 155mm gun on the t95 was ever made
Exactly, it only ever had 105 I believe
stranger danger war gaming ruining things yet again! :D
The t28 super heavy had the 105mm gun I think
Mr Godmode the T28 and T95 are the exact same vehicle
Crap I'm late. I was watching some countryballs XD. Nice build, keep up the nice work !
it look like early versions of A1-M-2 on t95
Interesting build Andy , looks like a mechanics nightmare ! the detatchable sponsons must be 20 tons each , hard to see how they a fit onto the main tank , what would stop them "spreading out " at ground level , with the weight of the tank acting on them ??.

I don't speak English but Google is my friend!
Thanks!
I have a question:
What was the sipmlest WW2 kit that you built?
(Sorry for bad English, I'm not English.....)
The t95 tank destroyer was made to bust through the German defences
the boxes on the side are so you can take 4 sherman's with you somewhere. I swear my first apartment could fit inside one of those boxes. Did they rename it the T-28?

It's a real shame you can't see the suspension because you put a lot of effort in them and the look great.
Обача )) красота )))
If you guys have the models for the M6 or even M6A2E1 tank please do make a video about both please !
Wow what a monster that is! Reminds me of the A39 Tortoise, so wide, i guess almost too wide haha. The outside row of wheels, could they be detached to allow it to cross bridges, AVLB bridges and for transport?
Yes, the outer tracks were supposed to be taken off for railroad transport. I don't know if they intended it to move with single tracks though
how much is this Tank Andy?
great build!
Andy cool looking Dragon 1/35 T95 super heavy tank one day I'm going to buy a tank and build it my RUclips Channel is on SCIFI kits you do awesome work and like your video builds on your show I learn a lot watching them thanks you have a great day.
The t-28 aka 105 mm gun motor carriage did not had a 155 mm gun on it but only had a 105 mm.
What's the point of the spring if the bogies need to be glued? _To make it harder for modelers to put the kit together?_
Would it be possible to do an m41 walker bulldog next? I absolutely love the m41 and I'm thinking of buying one myself
Is there a version with the real gun
sweet video :D
can you please build the m3 halftrack and the pak 40 and as always is the build awesome
Nick Boer ditto vote for the pak 40.
James Black you can't just make him.
I want this model kit
