Dr.Higa, in Fresno, CA performed a rouxny gastric bypass on me. I was in the first 100 patients to have this done, in 1998, by him! I was 260#! It took me a year to loose weight to normal weight of 145#, but had a lot of loose, excess hanging skin left, as a result! I found Dr.Ted Lockwood in Overland, KS, while watching Oprah, believe it or not, and decided to give his office a call,.make an appt. and my husband and I flew out to Overland, KS in 2002, to meet and discuss his "Lockwood Lower Body Lift" procedure! Long story Short, I was in Overland,KS for 4weeks and stayed at his motel with nursing care! He removed approx.40# of skin, after 6 hours on his bean O.R. table! This really Changed My Life and will Never Forget This Whole Ordeal! I tried to have add'l skin removal surgeries later, and unfortunately when I went to schedule this, discovered that Dr. Lockwood died from a brain tumor! This was in 2004! I was SHOCKED😮😮 and really surprised by this discovery!! I never really followed up with anyone else after that, as, at the time, there were Not many other people, doctors, doing this, from my research into this subject of upper body lifts, breast lift, arm lift, etc
that I really needed. So, life went on and I put my issues with my body, on the back burner, sort of speak, and carried on! Now, in 2023, I am 66.3 y.o. and weigh 125#, and have an extreme amount , I guess approx,12-20#, of loose hanging, floppy skin, everywhere, and am quite upset with it, but don't know if I can or should do anything about it, at my age! Again, I am now 66.3y.o. and am Not a Vain person, however, I just want to look like I feel, on the inside! I would recommend using www.find.plasticsurgery.org/ to research surgeons in your area. Since your original surgeries in 2002, upper body lifts and arm lifts have become much more common place and I am confident you will find a great highly qualified surgeon!
Do you think BodyTite would work only for tightening of loose skin? I have little to no body fat after losing 90 pounds. I am looking at thighs and stomach. Worried about denting or wrinkling in my stomach due to no fat and this procedure.
Hi! Great question. It's hard to say without seeing you in person. AccuTite may be a better option for areas with little to no fat. BodyTite does tighten skin but it is not a replacement for skin removal surgery. We typically say if you have more than an inch to pinch you may be a better candidate for formal surgery. how long do results last?
Thanks for watching! If you maintain your weight your results will last forever. However, no procedure can stop aging so you may want more formal surgery in the future if you have loose skin.
Can you treat the calf area?

I'm removing buttock implants cuz they have been giving me problems. My doc wants to do bodytite to my buttocks post removal, but I don't want to lose any fat. can he do the bodytite close to the surface to not melt the little amount fat I have?
Hi Gloria, great question! It's impossible to give a definitive answer without seeing you in person, however, BodyTite can improve skin tone even in areas with little fat. It is typically necessary to do a small amount of liposuction following BodyTite to remove the coagulated tissue and tumescent. After removing an implant your skin will take some time to bounce back but it will with time and you may be surprised how much your skin tightens up!
