  • 1st Cook On The Barrel Smoker and man did we tear up the chicken legs...drum smoker chicken is one of my all time favorites. If you're needing to feed a bunch of people in a pinch and save a little money in the process, this is one of the easy drum smoker recipes to keep in mind. I included the recipe below!
    - Pick up a big package of chicken legs
    - Season them generously with a savory rub. We recommend SPG.
    - Cook them until the skin is golden brown. (45 minutes to 1 hour)
    - Once the color is there, drop all of the legs in a pan with one full stick of butter.
    - Cover the pan with foil and leave it on the drum for 30 minutes.
    - Let your chicken steam out and then plate them up and eat!
    - You can add sauce or more seasoning to these legs if you want, they're perfect for that when you cook them this way!
    - As always, cook your chicken to its optimal food safety temperature. 165 Degrees Fahrenheit.
These chicken legs can finish at much higher temps and still be like butter! This one is so easy and it sure is a crowd pleaser.
