Hello Bergen, very nice trip, yes you are right, most tourists fly from Lima to Cusco but they miss seeing the scenery when going from the desert coastline to the Andes mountains. The drink that you had was a popular breakfast drink made of quinoa, apples and cinnamon. I hope that the high altitude didn’t affect you too much, you know that you have to drink coca tea to avoid getting sick. Cheers from Florida.
Absolutely, it was well worth the ride. Beautiful country. The breakfast drink was delicious, thank you for the information! So far, no issue for me in Cusco in regard to the altitude. I’ve been drinking my coca tea as well. Thanks for watching!
Woah very brave of you. Cool boy, yk i'm a local and also have traveled by myself to many countries but like to do that in my own country always felt little bit dangerous. Definitely trying this route to cusco one day. Maybe i'll even try to visit your city too (never been in phoenix or AZ before😅) anyways, hope you had a great time here.
Thanks for watching! I had an amazing time visiting Peru, I would love to get back in the future. I highly recommend the bus ride, it was a great way to see different areas! I recently moved to southern Oregon, I highly recommend visiting the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana). Lots of beautiful mountains and rivers!
The prices there are insanely cheap. If you eat at the little local places you can get quick meals for $1-3 USD. Or if you want to go to a fancy sit down restaurant, you can get a beautiful dinner for $10-15 USD (but it would cost $50+ in the states)
Wow man interesting and very brave to travel to Cusco on bus, he he. Did you get sick during the trevel? I mean, you threw up, had headache or got dizzy?
I really enjoyed the bus ride with the beautiful views! Nope, I had no issues with the altitude when arriving in Cusco. I didn't get any altitude sickness and I had no problem with hiking there thankfully.
Thanks man. This video is very helpful to me. I was on the fence to book this bus vs flying there. Now I’ll take the plunge. The ticket is actually $25 USD and I’m gonna buy it now. I’m wondering which seat is the best to see the TV? I have all the seats on the upper floor available and I wanna pick the best seat! Any thoughts?
Thanks for watching, I’m glad it was helpful! As far as which seat is the best, that’s hard to say. The TVs are placed every few seats in the center aisle, so I would say most seats have decent visibility. I’d recommend bringing wired headphones, there’s a place you can plug in to watch the movie (versus having to turn up the speaker volume, which could be annoying to other passengers). I hope you have a great time and your travels go smoothly!
I would recommend the seats with a panoramic view (seats 1 and 2), in case you choose a bus company that has double-decker buses, which is common in Peru.
this is goign to be me in a couple of months. i want to go to cusco market for baby alpaca stuff. this reminds me of grey hound hahahaha. oh lord. you and the dog are just staring at each other??? hahahahah 4:12
Yes, there's room for that. There is room under the bus for large checked luggage, and room under the seats/over the seats for smaller backpacks or personal items. I got lucky and had an empty seat next to me, so I brought my 35L backpack on the bus and put it on the seat beside me.
@@bergendavis nice ! I need to find a bus like this from Cuzco to ollantaytambo I spoke to the Inca rail lady and she said the affordable public buses don’t allow you to take luggage’s so I was a bit disappointed of you know of any affordable buses like the one you rode from Lima but I need it to ollantaytambo from Cuzco let me know !:)
¡Bendiciones!
I personally never felt unsafe! I didn’t have any checked luggage, just a backpack that I kept with me at my seat. So I didn’t have to worry about theft or anything during the stops when ppl were unloading in different locations. The roads are very windy going up mountain passes, which I only mention because if you’re prone to motion sickness that could be an issue (wasn’t a problem for me at all). So all in all, I wouldn’t highly recommend it! It’s cheaper than flying, and despite it being a long journey, I found it to be very rewarding to see so much of the country. The views are incredible!
Thanks for sharing your trip. I hope to do it this coming summer.
Thanks for watching, I hope you have an amazing trip!
Great info and looking forward to it.
Thanks for watching!
24 hours on a bus is definitely a travel commitment you hope goes smoothly!

I did that travel But from Cusco to Lima, i knew that i wont stand 23 hours on a bus so I get drunk the night before, i slept 16 hours at the bus.
Haha gotta do what you gotta do! I certainly didn’t sleep great, but the beautiful views were more than worth it
That beverage you had with cheese sandwich is made with quinoa and apples also has cinnamon and cloves, it is so good and very healthy. Cheers👍
Thanks for the info! It was a very tasty treat!
Hiya!. super- that is outstanding ~I'll be back~
Thanks for watching!
Cool boy, very brave hehehe, for sure better to aclimatize to high altitude going by bus.
Campeón 24 horas duro el viaje de Lima a Cusco
Hahahahaha... buck 25 an hour =)
Nice bus, bathroom snacks and a recliner
in Peru, all people is demanding with a comfort. That´s why the companies buy buses with reclining sofa type seats.

lately, many tourist are choosing travel by bus. It would be useless to get to know Cusco without seeing the entire road to get to the city.
Very brave of you to visit my country without speaking the language, welcome, welcome.
It was a great time, but I definitely want to learn Spanish before my next visit to South America. Peru is beautiful!

Breakfast for 70 cents. That’s insane, and you know that cheese, bread and beverage was organic.

Can I load a gym type of bag carryon bag in those buses ?

Great video! Did the bus ride and the roads feel unsafe? I'm contemplating whether to ride a bus or just fly to Cusco.
