Isleofskye I've had SWA flight attendants give me hugs, back rubs and lots of free drinks. In fact, on a rather empty flight years ago a gay flight attendant started giving me free drinks and attempted to "chat me up" several times. I had a total of 6 bourbons and was starting to get a buzz when I told him, "the female flight attendant was much better looking than he", off he huffed and my free flow of alcohol ended. I suspect I could have joined the Mile High Club that night, but as a new recruit for the opposite team. And I refuse to pitch or catch for those guys.
it is not the task of people to make organized activities more pleasant, serve as counterweight, it is the organization's responsibility and they don't give a damn; we first need more leg space back and free drinks LOL

She made people actually listen to the usually boring safety announcements and on top made them laugh. In consequence, we now have a video of a South West FA going viral, free positive marketing and people will go "They're really fun at SW!", which in the end can only have positive effects for everyone involved. Explain how she didn't excel.
This attendant deserved every one of the gifts that Ellen gave her. Amazing how one person, going just a little further than they had to changed the lives of the 100 or so passengers on that flight, and the millions of youtubers who watch this video. I wish there were more people like her in this world.
The world needs more people like this! You never know someone could have been petrified to fly and she just made them smile and feel better that is an amazing person right there
The problem with this advice is some managers are miserable and can't handle when people act this way at work. But I believe we should all be able to loosen up like this lady while at work.

Once was on a flight where the pilot explained that the speed we were traveling at was at a higher velocity than a bullet leaving a gun, that the thrust of the engines was equivalent of several passenger trains combined, and our cruising altitude was about 25 times higher than the Empire State Building. So in conclusion, we were faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Seriously, I'm not making this up.

How often is the information useful? in most emergency situations planes are well built with reduntant systems, pilots are well trained for emergencies if it is physically possible for the plane to land, the plane will still land, and everyone just has to file out quickly and orderly. after landing/crashing If they can't physically control the plane as its coming down.. Odds are everyone dies. Really what people should be told is, follow instructions in an emergency, and don't panic.

I flew with SWA several months ago. It was one of the most pleasant flights that I’ve ever experienced. The flight attendant was very funny and pleasant. It was a flight from San Jose to Seattle so it wasn’t very long but it seemed shorter. The flight back was pleasant as well. Now when I decide to book a flight somewhere, I check first to see if SWA services the airport of my destination.

There are a lot of people (like me) who are DEATHLY afraid of turbulence- there was a flight with the worst turbulence I have ever seen (and sadly I have to fly a lot) and the captain comes over the comm and says, ‘severe turbulence is ahead...put away the eyeliner! I say again- put it away! You’ll look like a raccoon!’ I was never afraid of turbulence again.

I love flying Southwest, not just the free bags and no-fee flight changes, but there is a good feel about the whole process you just don't get on other airlines. A funny story about a SW flight I once had, I was connecting through Midway in Chicago and they held the plane a few minutes for one connecting passenger that was on his way to the gate from his connection. The wait was just 4-5 minutes, but as the plane load of passengers waited, one of the flight attendants stood up at the front of the plane explaining the slight delay, the FA proposed a funny bit for the whole plane to be a part of. He told us that once the late passenger entered the plane and started his way down the aisle, the FA would stand behind him, and silently count down from 3 to the rest of the plane to yell out it unison "It's about time!" It was hilarious, the late passenger looked all frazzled upon entering the aircraft, but what a smile he had when the whole plane roared out together -- that was many years ago now, but to this day I remember what a funny bit that was!
I flew Spirit Airlines back in May of last year and we had a lady coming back from Orlando to Chicago much like this lady, VERY funny, and it really does help those who are tense about flying. I myself enjoy flying, but I'm sure those who are tense about it appreciate someone like this who brings a little humor to the table before take-off.

I love flying Southwest, not just the free bags and no-fee flight changes, but there is a good feel about the whole process you just don't get on other airlines.
A funny story about a SW flight I once had, I was connecting through Midway in Chicago and they held the plane a few minutes for one connecting passenger that was on his way to the gate from his connection.
The wait was just 4-5 minutes, but as the plane load of passengers waited, one of the flight attendants stood up at the front of the plane explaining the slight delay, the FA proposed a funny bit for the whole plane to be a part of. He told us that once the late passenger entered the plane and started his way down the aisle, the FA would stand behind him, and silently count down from 3 to the rest of the plane to yell out it unison "It's about time!"
It was hilarious, the late passenger looked all frazzled upon entering the aircraft, but what a smile he had when the whole plane roared out together -- that was many years ago now, but to this day I remember what a funny bit that was!

I flew Spirit Airlines back in May of last year and we had a lady coming back from Orlando to Chicago much like this lady, VERY funny, and it really does help those who are tense about flying. I myself enjoy flying, but I'm sure those who are tense about it appreciate someone like this who brings a little humor to the table before take-off.
