I am on a Catholic Facebook page in which I am finding is more traditional. Some have written about the charismatic renewal being just “fluff” and emotion….a put down of this type of worship. I followed the renewal 40 years ago and still do. I have grown deeply in my faith through the years and love the traditions of our faith, also. I like when Ralph said we can be contemplative charismatics for that is what I am. It is all about the Holy Spirit and how He guides us.
I love this! “It’s the same Spirit!” Yes!!!! It’s good that these false shepherds are being so bold…that way we can identify them and either get them back in the fold, or root them out!
I would like for Ralph to expound upon growing in holiness. I have been listening to his podcasts of the Doctors of the Church and they are so inspiring.
Thank you for the example of speaking truth with kindness. I’ve been thinking lately about those people who walked away from Jesus, and Him watching it happen. He did not yell or chase after them. He is so kind and gentle and patient and accepted so much suffering for us, showing us basically ‘hey, look, this is what you will have to do’. And it’s hard to accept suffering, but with Him, it is possible. Thank you!
I watched this interview and tgen went back to view the first one. Both were excellent. Pete’s thought provoking questions allowed Ralph to give more nuance to the basic themes. Keep up the good work!
I was wondering if Ralph Martin was familiar with the Holy Face devotion given to Sister Mary of St Peter to combat communism? I learned so much from this q & a video! Thank you!!
You two nail it. If only it would reach parish pulpits. I don't hope for that any more. It's been so long, but perhaps the Lord will perform some miracle, because the solution is beyond our efforts.
Very good interview. The questions were spot on, especially when it comes to other faithful Catholics’ attitudes to the charisms and the Holy Spirit. Having been in the charismatic renewal for 50 years, I realize most Catholics don’t really have any idea of who the Holy Spirit is. This is why wicked prelates often claim to be guided by the Holy Spirit, because they know people won’t have a clue. Question for next time: What action can charismatics take to bridge the gap of reticence and derision many Trads (faithful Catholics) have for Charismatics?
I loved the entire interview. There was so much teaching going on. One of the topics I was particularly interested in was the remarks about Confirmation. We had our Bishop confirmed 24 youth in our parish of churches this month but I said I felt my kids weren't really ready and said we would not be participating; I did have the backing of their parents. I want them to DESIRE the Holy Spirit. I want them to go to this beautiful sacrament with an expectant faith that God has so much more for them to experience. .

Living the normal Christian life involves being charismatic, contemplative, institutional and personal as well as believing, hoping and loving. Are you?
Actually, Celena, I do to,...but have had a strange desire [ Expectation ] sense Easter, for more, but can not pin it down ?? The part of Ralphs talk that is illuminating , in is his expression at 29:44, " False Division "---Bingo !!
A question for it Ralph. Who; has the ultimate authority to deal with those who are departing from righteous teaching and what are they doing about it?
Could you do a segment defending the charismatic gifts against common criticisms? Notably gift of tongues? Or maybe you have already done 10 videos on this in which case please direct me
Hi Al! While we might not have this precise thing, we do have some video series that may be a help. Last year, we did a Pentecost Mission that had 4 video teachings. The 3rd video in particular had a lot of information on how the Church's magisterium has looked at charismatic gifts. Here is a link to that series: ruclips.net/p/PLLK1vk61R6yhkV_dvtlSUyoh8G8ts6YKP. You might also enjoy our series "As By a New Pentecost" which you can view here: ruclips.net/p/PLLK1vk61R6yie9gaIr0_JLpZ6V1ZyMauu.
Question: Dr. Martin, are there any books that you would recommend to learn more about evangelization, especially from a Catholic perspective? Most Catholic books that I have read on evangelization are fairly low-level; that is, these books merely make practical appeals to share the faith, but they often fail to develop a deeper theology or spirituality of evangelization. Something written by a saint of the Church would be beneficial, but more contemporary works would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much and God bless you. -Seth Michael Seaman
There is nothing wrong with being charismatic and contemplative unless we are allowing the same to puff up our pride while believing because of the same that we are superior to others who have their own different from us gifts of the Holy Spirit. Because for example speaking in tongues is least gift of the Holy Spirit and not necessarily a sure sign that someone has been "born again". Life is so much better when having brothers and sisters in Christ who in gentle ways set us straight too whenever it looks like our foot may be slipping. Some cradle Catholics have a problem with that too while feeling superior when not being okay with constructive criticism reminders offered by someone Christian from a different worship tradition.
I am glad that i stop by you in this topics, because confirm my position about lt. And i pray that more ppl talk plainly about this and. I remembet ewtn show a documentary about Saul Alinsky and in that show if i not mistaken said how the masonry infiltrated a buch of them (young, intelligent etc.)as a seminary with only purpose to be ordained as a priest. Can you confirm this and tell me i am remember right ( I'am 72yrs old) Thanks. God bless.
Dear E, thank you for this suggestion! While not all of our videos become podcasts, most that feature Ralph do. Check out "Right Now with Ralph Martin" wherever you get your podcasts (Apple: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/right-now-with-ralph-martin/id1536626967). His bi-weekly video is always a podcast and we are continuing to release more past video content as well. These interviews will also be shared there! Once each interview is made into a podcast, we will add the link to the video description. We hope to add more podcasting in the future!
Spiritual warfare seems to be happening in more and more peoples lives lately, it isn’t always apparent until we look back at things going on in our lives. It seems the more we pray, go before the blessed sacrament and say the rosary things seem to get more pronounced. How do you suggest we handle times like this?
Hi Amitha! One way to think about this is what St. Thomas Aquinas says: "Grace perfects nature." God's gifts work in and through our human nature; they can elevate and perfect what is natural. So we see the human/natural and the supernatural working together to advance God's kingdom. As an example, one can receive the gift of tongues, while also recieving human teaching on how to surrender more deeply to the action of God so that the gift can be activated. Tongues can be scary and foreign, so people often need teaching to accompany the gift so that they can fully receive, rather than refuse, the gift. Imagine a mom giving a toddler a new piece of candy and the toddler is stubbornly crossing his arms, not taking the treat because it is unknown. Then dad comes in and says, "Son, try it! It is delicious and you'll love it." The gift is freely given, but some encouragement and teaching is also necessary to break down any barriers to receptivity.
I am really interested that you, Ralph, would recommend no priests rather than bad priests. You expect, presumably that there will be at least some (one?) good priest in the diocese to bring people the sacraments? Bishops, I am sure believe that bad priests at leat provide the sacraments for faithful - ex opera operato. Is this not a better decision?
36.00 minutes... yes. This cardinal is encouraging evil. It's not easy to live chastity, It's really not easy. but it's doable and it brings spiritual fruits. Why would a clergy man say something like that if he himself wasnt living it. Like really?? It's like admiting that he doesnt even try himself. So it's really a self centred statement he made... selfish... Really dissapointing. Bad sheperd... read Ezequiel 34

I agree, once you know God, nothing else is really that impressive. 😊💕
Thanks Ralph and Pete
'Speak Lord; your servant is listening 🕊🙏
I want to climb higher! I am striving, God be with me and my family, please help us climb higher. Increase my determination!
These are great conversations. I love that the Holy Spirit is leading the conversation.
I’m enjoying these conversations. Ralph is great. And Pete is such a good interviewer. Always some great takeaways. Thank you!
I love this! “It’s the same Spirit!” Yes!!!!
It’s good that these false shepherds are being so bold…that way we can identify them and either get them back in the fold, or root them out!
There is always more to God.
Thanks Ralph for speaking the truth and reminding us to do so. God bless

Thank you Ralph for your courage. You seem to be so kind and caring.
Thank you! Right on time! So many issues addressed that have been troubling me since recently confirmed.
…vibrating at the Spirit’s touch…may it be so! Lord, keep us faithful! Peace

What a GREAT interview! Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Both of you were great. Keep up the good work! We need the good catechesis and the inspiration! Contemplative charismatics…of course!!!!
Music bypasses the intellect and goes straight to the heart.
Lord thank you for your Holy Spirit,May your Glory continue to cover us.❤️🙏
I was wondering if Ralph Martin was familiar with the Holy Face devotion given to Sister Mary of St Peter to combat communism? I learned so much from this q & a video! Thank you!!
Stellar interview!!! I encourage all to look into the Encounter School of Ministry--it will help you live out your calling in the Spirit.
You two nail it. If only it would reach parish pulpits. I don't hope for that any more. It's been so long, but perhaps the Lord will perform some miracle, because the solution is beyond our efforts.
Clarity is great. You both covered so much ground. Blessings.
The Charismatic dimension of the church is for mission and there are gifts for sanctification. Both are needed!
Thank you for this. It is clear and directive. Just what we need.
Thank you both for a conversation that is critical at this time. I would like to ask Dr. Martin if he can recommend a good confirmation curriculum?
Loved what Mr. Ralph Martin said around the 14:16 up to the 17:32. Thank you so much!!
Very good interview. The questions were spot on, especially when it comes to other faithful Catholics’ attitudes to the charisms and the Holy Spirit.

Great interview! Very helpful! Thank you for doing this interview and God bless both of your ministries.
Ralph is such a wonderful witness, love this man.

Great interview thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you,have been listening
Thank you Ralph for your many years of service .Your voice is very much needed in the church today . May God bless you and prosper your ministry .
Thank you for covering the Sacrament of Confirmation this way. It truly is scandalous to receive but not live this (or any) sacrament.
I forced myself to listen to the e d and got some good takeaways as a result. Very feedworthy!
Headed to Power & Purpose in a couple weeks! see y'all
Looking forward to seeing Ralph in London soon 😀
Thank you for making this video!
Thank you for this💕
Living the normal Christian life involves being charismatic, contemplative, institutional and personal as well as believing, hoping and loving. Are you?
I love the thought that when you think you have got there, there's lots more out there for you.
God bless you both!
Great video. I'll be watching it again!
Great perspective!
loved the talk
Thank you for a great sharing
I qualify for divine welfare ❤️

Have you read/prayed Luisa Piccarreta's "24 hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ" ? How does it compare with the mansions of St. Theresa?
Is part of the issue baptism without conversion, confirmation without conversion, sacramental participation without continuing conversion?

Having the same predicament and thus keep on asking the same question. Am so spiritually overwhelmed in a negative way.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are a gift and can't be taught is it not... Some charismatics are teaching how to speak in tongues, is that authentic

I remember being confirmed, the Bishop use to slap those being confirmed,to remind you of what the world would do. Is this still done?

I've asked a legitimate question... I need to know normal. Roughly speaking.
