I was a teenager at that time!!! And even then it was indescribably beautiful to be a part of that era. But today...at 61...I'm only realizing what a gift that time was for my life. And I still have these strong feelings when I hear songs like this. It hits me like a bolt of lightning.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

@@michaelhead2871If you're referring to this song , then it's "Manhattan Skyline " by David Shire. If you're referring to something else, please accept my apology 😊
@@benjamincarter1884 What you say makes total sense. I guess what leads me to say "70s are the best" is the same reason that makes every parent say their own kids are the best kids. Total bias based on sheer involvement. I grew up in the seventies, so you do the math! Take care!!
When listening to the last couple of minutes of this track, does anyone else imagine a scene with the camera turning around the main couple, still on the dance floor and in the middle of a long kiss and deep hug, celebrating after winning the dancing contest, with the rest of those in the disco cheering and forming a circle around them...? Kind of a champions' hymn to me 🕺
I personally didn't care for the movie but I love the soundtrack. Keep that great imagination as I can see you have one. And who knows, maybe one day you'll be in pictures or something to do with them😊
1970's 1980's Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx and Emporia, Virginia when my school mates and my family members were still alive, Oh how i miss those days 😢. Love was real! Music was real unlike these days. Peace and Blessings to everyone ❤🙏🏿 ✨️
I'm curious. What makes you think this ? Take another look in your mind , and think again. Every time you and everyone else listens to this extension on RUclips, you're giving Mr. David Shire credit and we'll deserved recognition. Even if no one personally mentions his name. Which they don't necessarily have to. Without him, this composition wouldn't be on a soundtrack for a movie that made millions and on RUclips listened and enjoyed by millions whether or not their part of the "Views" or "likes"😊
Remember on the BQE in my. Park Ave driving to Queens I stated with the twin tower the only one left standing in my my rear view mirror. then glance away to look at traffic and when I glance back ,it was gone forever,I remember working for NYT and we had a room there on the 12th floor.
Great Times we will NEVER ever see again. I was 12 when this came out. And 15 when Urban Cowboy came out. Man I missed going out to the Discos by a few years. If I had been born in 58 instead of 66. Well, I would have been like John Travolta in the movie. Lol
With this song, I always imagine NYC socialites living a fast-lane lifestyle , well-connected, and wealthy or famous life and shopping at high-end ritzy stores.
This track always makes me think of the old WTC in the 70s. And just think back in the 70s most New Yorkers thought they were ugly, giant eyesores... Now... (Sigh).. You don't value what you have till it's gone...
I remember in basic training in 1972 at Ft.Polk,La. while standing in early morning formation. The drill sgt told us to look around at each other. He told us that at least six of us will be coming back to graves registration in a body bag from Vietnam. When I saw the traveling wall, I saw six buddies from basic on that wall. Every hair on my neck stood up. The sergeant was right.

The NY Skyline photo i used for the cover is dated from 1977. You can spot that the WTC North Tower doesn't have the antenna. It wasn't installed until 1978-79. And as far i know, the Twin Towers weren't opened until 1973.
