High kill count means nothing in group play if your loadout is designated for heavies and elites but I get these comments like "wow, I'm lvl 20 and got more kills than you" (I'm around 50), meanwhile I'm constantly saving him with stuns and taking down every charger and titan.
On top of that, why not have a stat to show “heavies killed” which could include all charges and titan kills or maybe even individual stats for each heavy unit. No reason to not give the players this info 🤷♂️

We need a PSA about passing those blue strats around. Folks: when that 10 minute mark rolls around and your backpack/support weapon call in has cooled down, look around for your bros running around bareback. If you catch ya boi lackin a support weapon or pack, throw your dawg a bone!
All four players dont need to be bringing support weapons and packs. This frees up teammates to bring more airstrikes and sentries!
Its tough having to beg every match for someone to drop an extra quasar/rover when they've been off cooldown for 20+ min. Throw them things down, brothers and sisters!

I don't play at 8-9 because its almost impossible to avoid orbital scatter, on 7 theres a higher chance of getting an operation with 0 modifiers, you only get some spores on the map, thats it and thats just way more enjoyable.
As long as they don't take a stratagem slot I'm happy, would be awesome to sometimes let us bring 5. Everyone getting a 500kg is dope too tho

I don't understand their mentality on the Eruptor, at launch it hit like an impact grenade. Now it just tickles things.
Removing the animation cancel and keeping it like it was at launch would have been fine.

I didn’t really like the Eruptor as a weapon, I only used it as more of a utility weapon.
They've confirmed that it is currently not working as expected, the shrapnel nerf hit it harder than they intended.

I avoided all DoT weaponry because of the bug, now that it’s fixed I’m gonna use em all before they’re nerfed to the ground.

Definitely more powerful than people think. I took down a drop ship and all the occupants, I've gotten 20+ kills in one shot on multiple occasions, and it will kill bile titans. Maybe not the most effective bile titan gun😂😂🤤 but it's fun. Probably my favorite weapon in the game, it's literally mayhem in weapon form

I couldn't agree more with the comment on the end. I like to try different builds, there are a lot of things that are fun, but can lead to "oh shit, this maps has bile spewers, i guess i ll be useless".
A cool idea would be to have the option to "scan the map" before you dive, and that will show you the types of mobs present, but will increase their numbers by x%.
They should just plain tell you "it's a bile spewer extravaganza mission" before launch or "Stalker presence". Not knowing what kind of bugs will be there forces you to play jack of all trades builds all the time and its unhealthy for the game.
More than just telling you, I'd rather them add actual mutators instead of the dumb 50% longer stratagem call and 25% longer cool down.
Like all small mobs are hunters and all medium enemies are stalkers, or bile spheres and chargers only, 10 times more bugs but it's all small bugs.
Imagine a map made up of only shriekers, stalkers and chargers.
I remember using the mines for the first time, loving them and subsequently being so confuses by how little damage the incendeary ones did. Glad to see it fixed. Now all i need are the anti tank mines we shouldve gitten during the last major order and my teamki........i mean mine field build will be complete😅
I got to run airburst launcher for the first time a few days ago. Was a pretty fun session. No friendly fire deaths and literally one shot an entire patrol. Shooting under gunship killed all drops in one shot (diff. 4). Eventually saw the cluster of skinny bots that accumulate in the middle of map due to a bug, first shot killed 18 enemies!
Yeah it's not a bad weapon. But it IS really good at killing your teammates. My diving buddy got me multiple times with it before i told him to just put it down 😂
I saw the cluster of chaff and got 60 from a gas orbital, and I didn't blow myself up!
At least after the bug fix it no longer kills everyone in an range of 300 meters while not doing anything against enemies, which was what happened 24/7 when we used it in the planet to get it.
Although if someone is in sight in the slightest at the direction of the patrol, dont shoot it, it will reach them no matter what.
By far OhDough is the best HD2 content I have found.(imo) best all around brother🏆
Based on AH balancing history, expect fire damage to be nerfed into the ground next balance update.
The stupid thing about that is that they gave us a module to spend our samples on that increases fire damage by 25 percent but if they nerf it we are essentially getting scammed out of the samples. Do you know if the last 15 percent decrease goes towards damage we do or damage we take? If it’s damage we do then we have already been scammed and that module is now only 10 percent more.
Y'all are so negative lol. AH buffs 2 weapons for every nerf and its never good enough.

Yup, they royalled effed the game up for anyone not in a full group. But they keep hanging on to this, "we only changed the percentage by 8,9%" stat. The actual in-game impact (with some stealth changes undocumented and unaccounted for I have no doubt) has no bearing or relationship to their intended 'bug fix for patrols'.
I am so happy the orbital fart strike has been made useful in multiplayer. No more trash mobs coming out of bug breaches, I can finally focus on the big stuff. And with multiple gas strikes now working per team, they’ll essentially have nonexistent intervals. At last, I can cloud the map in toxic gas that will actually damage things

Part of me wonders if they would have less technical hellscape if they didn't use Autodesk Stingray and something more modern.
I think the increased Patrols/enemies per missing player should be reversed/mirrored.. 4 ppl can handle more than a single person.. Logic..
They should give an incentive to play as a group, get another 10/25% bonus resources/samples,whatever for 2/4 ppl groups for example..
After the patrol change I had to drop difficulty so much so I cant really progress anymore other than filling the few missing strategems.. Ship upgrades are out of the equation..
By now my last hope is that at some point we might be able to exchange lower samples into higher ones..
I'm with you all the way man. Here's the thing: Whether we are solo or in a 4-man group, how many patrols spawn *at the same time*. Only 1. And the ability of a 4-man team to shut down a single patrol/breach is orders of magnitude greater then a single person.
By the time a single person finishes the patrol, breach, and possible aggro from a nearby POI they are getting hit with another patrol. Then another breach, then more aggro. And they only have so many strategems, ammo and key things off cooldown. So the time to kill those 2nd and 3rd spawns increases....leading to another patrol etc.
So we are forced into a narrow style of gameplay of simply running for our lives constantly. And if an invisible Stalker insta-kills you, there goes your gear and you have to run in to the thick of the huge mass of mobs to recover it. Or run further away, typically from your Objective. And the cycle never really stops.
Difficulty for less then full groups was massively impacted by that so-called 8-9% 'increase' in patrols. Due to how actual gameplay works, it essentially means non-stop fighting at levels 5 and up. And it's tiresome. I can play one or 2 matches a night and I'm exhausted and stressed out. And if I was unlucky, one or both resulted in zero samples.
I don't like playing video games (or any other game) with total strangers. So if my small group of friends aren't online...I'm solo. And the game is pushing me away. It's tough.
You seem to have not read the patch notes.
Full squads have 4 times as many patrols spawn as solo play. That goes up further if the squad spreads out too far.
The benefit of playing with others is that it's easier lmao. Especially with good teamwork/communication. It also gives you more chances at samples.

But lets just keep it short with saying I cant play with randoms, at least not more than 1 or MAX 2 missions before I have to call quits for the day.
Regarding the patch notes-
they literally said that the increase in patrols will be most noticeable in solo play, less in duos , even less in trios .. While 4 Player teams see nearly no change with that patch.
Of course, 4 people spread out will attract/spawn more patrols than a solo player will.. But that doesnt change the amount/rate of patrols per person in favour of your argument..
And remember a Squaddie has the rest of the squad as backup.. They have support. 4 Divers have exponenential more power to deal with - just anything..
As solo player you get flung into a death spiral way to fast now. No one covers you when you need to reload, etc., etc.
So balancing patrols/gameplay off the base of 1 helldiver having 1/4th of the power as a full squad has is nuts.
And just because there were people running Max Diff solo without that much problems before doesnt mean that everyone can do that..
It feels like the changes in the end just revolved on those two points..And imho they just overdid it..
the "helldivers mini... ...because you're smaller" is a sentence. And that's crazy. Send help I can't stop laughing

Despite the DOT "fix" Thermite grenades are still hot dog crap, they do no damage to chargers, 4+ does almost nothing to them so yeah, for everyone hoping that the Demo warbond would be fixed or salvaged by the DOT fix, it did not.
Ive been missing Fire, fire and more fire. I had my shield, breaker, FT, gas and napalm. Good deal.

The airburst launcher is fine for damage as it can 1 shot a brood commander. If paired with a quasar shot for a team attack, you can instakill hulks, tanks, and gun towers.

Just a couple hours ago me and a Rando emptied an entire can of flamethrower and the Charger was still alive. It took a lot to kill Brood commanders too. Not sure if it’s the DOT or some other glitch. But it happened in multiple matches.

I'm not a fan of fire. Gotten kill by Hellmire tornado fire and breaker incendiary quite often. They should offer fire resistant armor and helmet.
OK that spewer multikill with the nade pistol was insanity. I've never seen it splash like that. You got a goddamn turkey.
Ngl, the air burst *is* really busted. It's not an anti armor weapon, but if you know what you're doing you can take down patrols before they have the chance to respond, and have not a singular friendly fire incident.
Even when you do get to shoot it without killing teammates/yourself... It's a horde clear weapon, yet it typically won't clear out enough to buy enough time for you to reload it with that massive animation. So it feels like a one and done type of deal. And you're giving up your backpack slot for it too, while not contributing anything to chargers/titans and not even finishing off enemies like brood commanders.
So you're doing the job of a single eagle/orbital, but less effectively, while giving up on other strong support weapons and backpacks. I don't think this weapon is very good. I am glad you are having fun with it, though.
I get excited for bug breaches now, easy 20s with airburst. Shit I even started bringing it to bot missions, I think the airbust is being slept on rn
@BigDBrian In my opinion, it's the best support weapon to use with a teammate: I run open mic and usually ask my team mates to grab my backpack for me, and around 50% of the time they will do it.
Arrowhead really need to change the team reload so the teammate shooting can have the backpack on while another teammate latches on to help. This will fix so many problems that I have with backpack support weapons; except the Autocannon, but you can reload it quick if you do it right.

@@BigDBrian Basically this. Most times when you're in position to land 20 kills with an airburst, you could probably do just as well with any other group clear stratagem, a machinegun spray, or even a stun grenade + one heatsink from a Sickle if you're cracked.
The only case where it has unique outstanding strengths would be if you've got a loader and several very distinct groups of light enemies in view. But even then, you might well be more efficient if you and the loader just ran machineguns instead.
I was using flamethrower a week before this patch so now I have an unhealthy knowledge to how much fire dmg any given organism can take and now it’s even better

I remember landing it dead center of a bot drop, without a single kill. Maybe now its fun
I've been loving the incendiary breaker even with the broken DoT, so this was a tremendous update for how I play most of the time.

Completely on your side with the airburst. Consistently costs anywhere between one to seven reinforcements (in the worst cases) every time I've seen someone using it in a mission. Only way to play around it is to stay as far away from that teammate as possible. Players with the airburst scare me more than most of the enemies in this game.
When I play with a team, I normally go alone to do the secondary stuff and the samples because the players are more deadly than the bugs.
I hope they fix stun grenades in multiplayer too ^^
I can deal with throwing the stun grenade early, but sometimes chargers just start turning 2 seconds into the stun, for no reason.
What about thermite? Is thermite usable now? Or still mediocre?
I got my stratagem left and right buttons binded on my mouse and up and down binded to scroll wheel.
It works great cause I can move around and look around while getting a stratagem ready.
The airburst is not that bad, I only use it when a patrol is heading our way or during a bug breach. You just have to be around your teammates and watch your spacing. The main downside is you have nothing to fight against chargers/bile titans while your eagle/orbitals are on cooldown.
Just out of curiosity, what is your pc setup? Your gameplay looks pretty smooth.

The amount of stims I've had to blow through due to FF/Self damage has went exponentially up in the past 8 hours
14:00 they didn't increase the explosion radius on the grenade pistol, they buffed the AoE damage caused by bile bugs exploding. You killed one spewer with the grenade and his AoE killed the other two.
I like the personal shield better with the flame thrower. You don't catch on fure when a hunter inevitability tags you.
Is the 25% fire damage boost necessary for fire to be good?

You should really be using incendiary breaker more often to pepper enemies with pellets from way back like 40+ meters. 1 pellet is enough to set bug on fire sometimes and it will kill small ones and soften up larger ones A LOT. There is basically no drawbacks other than wasting a bit of ammo but.
it is much harder to solo retrieve essential personnel, but way easier if you got 4 players, especially if 2 of us go farm samples.
anyone uses the airburst, either just want to have fun killing teammates, or want to launch themselves into the air.
12:33 arc thrower is really good against bugs it kills everything but bile titans effectively
I think certain planets have more hunter and scorcher spawns, I'd also like to see new difficulty tiers like lvl 10+

Gas strike + incendiary breaker + incendiary nades is just nirvana seeing the bugs barely able to crawl out of the but breaches
Can you do a quick test to see if the scopes are aligned they said it was fixed. I would like to use the AMR more consistently. Also, I'm just a fan that likes your yapping

As an Arc Thrower main, I will say this: It's fantastic horde clear, and great against solo chargers, or if you know how to dodge and rocks aren't around...but for bots it's a bit more of a struggle. RIP the days of stunlocking Hulks (warranted change) but if you carry some other strategems to cover bile titan/hulk/tank weakness, you're good. Also the ability to stun medium enemies is great CC for teammates who are getting shot at. Less shots = team can better take out threats faster while I distract.
Only real struggle I find is on bots when they bring in those fliers. Those things will wreck my shit every time, as i tend to roll Arc Thrower/Supply Pack/500KG/Gas Strike, but if I swapped gas strike with the EAT, I think I'd do better.
I also can't swap off Sickle/Grenade Pistol...love them too much, hence my issues with fliers.
I mean, as far as the grenade pistol goes, it's not like there's anything in the secondary slot that offers better efficiency against gunships anyway.
Or against anything else, really - The other secondaries in this game are kinda wack and low impact by comparison. They could at least have more ammo, to make the one-handed running spam use case viable.
Airburst post fix is waaay better than you give it credit for. This patch's stability isn't however, sheesh. Can't even get a mission done without dcing. I feel like we're back at month 1 of release again.

AMR is fixed. You don't need to compensate for the misaligned scope at all anymore.
@@OhDoughFrom what I remember the sniper scope was blatantly bugged, which they seem to have fixed.
The HMG's problem seems to be that it doesn't take into account height over bore.
The JAR might also have that problem, but since it shoots gyrojets it actually hits where you aim at around 75-100m.

Whats up @OhDough, you definitely should try out "Deep Rock Galactic", but you should also check out "Warhammer 40K: Dark Tide". When HD2 gets less popular a lot of players are going to end up going to those games I'd be more than willing to bet. Dark Tide has the best combat system I've ever seen, but their crafting system is not like (which they said they are going to fix some time this year) definitely worth checking out so you can capture that audience too.
With the napalm ship upgrade and the new patch i can kill a charger in 5s with the flamer. It's crazy and I love it.
If I'm going to run quasar cannon for the hives I generally will bring some EATS along with it to counteract the cooldown but 4:41 is painful to watch :(

2 Questions for those on PS5: I used to be able to see samples at the top of the screen like this. I have everything visible as far as I know. Does anyone have a problem seeing the samples on screen and what setting do you have selected in order to see them?? I'm pretty sure I set everything to visible, but I may have missed something. Thanks!!
I forgot which setting but you gotta switch it to dynamic, just google it
atm the HUD setting for showing samples is bugged and only works reliably when set to dynamic.
Make sure it's set to that. If that doesn't work, try resetting your game settings, changing it OFF of dynamic, applying it, then changing it back ON.

Do you think they're going to nerf the breaker incendiary now with the fire damage actually functioning?
They shouldn't, because it was already working just fine - For solo players. And it's effective at it's job. We have to just stop nerfing guns that are actually effective. It's a very important tool for the massive amounts of hordes we now face, especially Solo players like myself. They are endless. Wave after wave after wave. And unless you have just the right load-out, you may have Airburst on cooldown, or no room for Cluster, etc.
Make other weapons effective and *really* good to use. Difficulties 5+ got massively more difficult in the last patch, pretty much outstripping most weapon loadouts to keep up unless you are in a well-drilled 4-man unit. We need more firepower for all weapons, not less - And the ability to play the game as we like: Solo, with a buddy, etc.
@@mkaleborn here's hoping man! They definitely scaled up the difficulty for anything less than 4 man squads. Tried to do a level 7 blitz against the bugs yesterday with just me and one other buddy, WOW it felt harder than my level 9 dives. Absolutely ridiculous, hopefully the devs will go easy on it I haven't bought a warbond yet and I reusant to try out the incendiary breaker now that it works correctly. Just don't want to end up regretting the purchase 😅
I kind of wish they didn't, most people are pretty bad at deciding where to put down their fire attacks. I'll need a thermal protective suit if I go bugs again.
I agree to raids. Running into bug holes or factories that are better fortified. Looking for mutated bugs or new bot builds. Find a bunch or illuminate crap.
I see that the airburst rockets are still nuking entire teams and someone else on the opposite front in a single shot. I guess that means that the galaxy is in order.
Ive been wishing for Fire- Acid- resistant armor since week 1.. But.. even with the new "staying cool" WB - nope..
about 3:02 i think adding more difficulties like they did in Helldivers 1 would be cool
