Im currently in recovery mates and rather than going round to mate and being tempted with the drink and sniff im really trying to get out walking etc. Ive never fished in my life but i really fancy it. Where would and should i start? Like a Fishery or a small pond? Is there any gear you would recommend or any shops i can go into and get some info. Im in Glasgow. @@DavidTaylor-i3w well done mate I wish u well. Day at a time. Glasgow angling centre get a cheap 7/8ft spinning rod and reel and start small wee burns rivers etc for trout. Be careful on the bigger ones. Just enjoy it fishing isn’t always about catching it’s about getting out in nature and using all your senses.
Tight lines mate, apparently 4 salmon the entire season so far on the river leven in Dumbarton. I’m more interested in the sea trout tbh just starting out on the rivers, always fished the F&C canal for roach rudd pike & perch. My first proper year targeting sea & brown trout on rivers. Hoping to hit into a salmon eventually 🏴🎣
