Thanks for the review, it helps me on my buying decision. But need more info, can it be functioned as continous lighting too? Is there a switch to make the lamp turned on continously?

Hiya, I found your demo really interesting. I'm looking to purchase the kits with 3 lights. You've said they are now discontinued, although I know i can still purchase, but do you know what is the latest model Godox do? Is there much difference with the DE400?Cheers

The latest models have all changed there codes so unable to use a like for like comparison on the newer models. The DE400 is a 400w lamp, so it all depends on what your using the lamps for, i found in a small studio, the DE300 lights worked fine.

Very helpful. I m interested in buying them as my first studio lights setup. Would you recommend them as well?

Hi, it depends on how hard your going to work them, i push them quite hard as i do some school photography and its a lot of pictures quickly and they do get hot, that is a concern as they don't seem to have fans in them. All i can say is they have worked fine for me but if you are going to use them on a regular basis in a studio, i personally would look for some professional cooled lights, hope this helps!

Emotive Photography Training Thanks, That helped a lot. I m not going to use them that much, So I think they'll be good for me. I currently use Youngno 560 iii flashes and they are not good. batteries run out easily and they are inconsistent.

Just got this lamp in the mail. I'm trying to decide on what transmitter unit to get. The XT32C is what I'm leaning towards. Thoughts?

, It does look like a great transmitter. You will need the XTR i guess as well. Also have a look at the X1 (depending on what camera your using) as well and see which is best for you. the X1n for Nikon is the one i use, its small and i use it for studio and location work wedding etc. But for the money they are both a bargain IMO.

Hi I have one unit of Godox X1TS trigger which is mounted on my Sony A7II to trigger the Godox tt685s speedlight.
I was wondering if I can use the sync cord to physically connect the DE300 to the trigger that I have mounted on my camera.
I want to use both strobes (Godox tt685s and DE300) simultaneously.
Is it possible to only use one trigger without any receiver attached on the DE300?

Hi, I believe that the X1 only has a data out and camera remote out, so i don,t think you can (thats my understanding anyway), but what you could do is set your DE300 to slave mode and when your speedlight flashes, the DE300 will pick up the flash and fire itself. You will have to set the power on the Studio light manually . The last question you asked, do you mean can you trigger just the DE300, again i believe that Godox is yet to release the sony version receiver, so using the method described above might help, If you reduce the power of the speedlight , so it does not add light to subject but will still trigger the main light. I hope this answered your question.

    Hi,
I have a small studio at 4x6 metres and the actual working area is 3x3 metres. I am gonna buy a kit of 3 Godox DE300 to use in my studio. Do you think it would be enough or I need to get a stronger one?
Also I want to know what is the main difference between DE300, DP300, SK300, GS300, QS300, ... . As I see they all have the same specification.
Thanks for your help in advance

I use these lamps on location in bigger areas than that with no problem at all, it does depend on how your going to diffuse them, size and shape all contribute to power output. regarding the other models you have quoted, there is a huge difference between the models, the power output is not the only consideration to be contemplated, Recycle time, increment settings, how they trigger etc. You will have to closely look at all the model specs to see which is best for you.

I really appreciate your explanation. But as they are all 300Ws and Guide number of 58 do still think that their output is differenet?
      Thanks again

Hi Paddy, they are very good for the money , i have used them in many shoots with out a problem. Lights are subjective as it depends on allot of thing. I would not use these lights for a long period of time for quick shooting, the recycle time is ok but not fast and they don't use fans which means they get hot. Early Elinchronm light used to burst into flames for this issue until they fitted fans. So hot environments and quick shooting i would not recommend. Saying that they have photographed 60+ children one after another without issue, but i live in the uk, and its very really hot here, until this week lol!

Hi Ali, sorry for late reply, i've been away from work sick for a few weeks. depending on your setup i have two suggestions. Move the light away from your subject, light falls off surprisingly quickly. The second is check your settings, Are you at the highest speed for flash, lower your ISO, reduce your aperture.
