Concert For Bones (Keith Elliott)
Sunday 4th December 2016, at Memo Music Hall, St Kilda, Melbourne
The day was to celebrate the life and times of a very special man to the Melbourne musician community.
Legendary Melbourne drummer, Keith Elliott - aka Bones, played with many of the best in the business including Russell Morris, Mike Rudd, Mick Pealing and many others. Having been in very bad health for the last few years with a poor prognosis he was in desperate need of a cheer up.
Bones was a mentor to many and an inspiration to most. Known particularly as one of the finest groove players ever to sit behind a drum kit, Bones was a unique musician with a keen musical brain and a very personal touch. Many of his friends feature in this exciting line-up of Australian rock legends who put on a show for the ages. It’s a dedication from many top artists who have kindly contributed their time for the benefit of one of their own. This was a day of great music for an inspiring musician and a very kind soul.

MY 70s CRUSH.. CHILLS..🚶♂️💙🎶
No words can express an appreciation to absolutely appreciating this amazing Australian Artist
Still love listening to him after all these years and I think I was 10 when I first heard him. Go John on drums.
Congratulations Russell - The Real Thing sounds pretty much the same - something that doesn’t happen very often as we age . Great job. I first saw Russell on TV in about 1966 when he was in the band Somebody’s Image - a lot of water under the bridge since then .
I remember Listening to Russell Morris early in Countdown one morning in the early 70’s rushing up the concrete steps and took the top of my toe off blead bit carried
Carry on x
Thankyou this is superb
I REALLY ENJOYED ALL THE BAND
Russell Morris's voice got better as he got older. What a fantastic performer this guy is.
I saw him earlier this year in Brisbane and he just killed it like like every time I've seen him over the last, well more than 40 years. Took my kids and they were blown away. My 23yo daughter was like, "Oh my god, he's such a great singer!". Just bought tickets for the Royal Hotel in Nundah in November and we'll all be going again .... and as always ... I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!
Good on you Russell & band! Rock on, & stay alive!😊💯🙏✌

Kudo's to all involved...sound production is awesome
I played with Bones - His Great!
Great rendition of Black Dog Blues...feelin' it too! Is the guitarist Pete Robinson? P.S. They may have played 'The Real Thing' one million times, but it still blows my mind (even though I wasn't born when it was originally released 😁). Thanks, Russell 💗🌵
Yep..Pete Robinson who is Russell's guitarist. Pete is also with the awesome Electric Mary too
@@371ronny Will have to check them out 👍
A lovely thought by all for Bones and always by Russ, Cherri xo
Brilliant, a cover of Thunderclap Newman.
Who is Bones? All these singers performed for him, but nobody explained who Bones really is. The only bones that I know are the bones that dogs eat.
