- I went up the road to 1st round of the D4 Enduro Series for the Arcadia Bark Busters Sprint Enduro. I took the YZ250F so I could get some seat time on it, and it was great! What a fun ride!

I noticed you seem to be carrying more speed on the 250, and its so loud your scarin the chit out of everybody and they just move out of the way. LOL
I love how polite you are as a fast rider, very nice! I remember getting screamed at, revved at, an cursed out to all hell from the faster riders behind me.

Dude, you are a class act. You are exponentially faster on the Yamaha, and this video personally I think is your best yet; the commentary, the edit, the China stuff (freakin hilarious), etc. The majority of that course looked like you were riding on Black Forest Chocolate Cake, absolutely awesome! I dont imagine you run any vintage stuff yet, but hopefully I get to meet you and shake your hand on the trail one day. Great stuff!
Put the ktm handle bars on the Yz and ride it and see if you like the short bars then cut the Yz’s bars to the size you want
Guessing you didn’t get that quieter exhaust yet, based upon how fast people were getting over. They knew you were coming!!

Wider bars = slower steering but it’s more stable and narrower bars = faster steering but you get less stability.
you’re so much faster on the 4 strokes the speed between the trees with the go pro is noticeable compared to when you were on the 300 💪🏻 good job !
That Yamaha 4 stroke just powers through those bad spots.
If you get a chance, come ride a full gas sprint enduro, they're great. Next one is in West Virginia... on a golf course ;)

You should try to move your handle bars to the front holes..I did it to my fx and felt like it gave me much more control,,so much I kick myself for not moving them up sooner..great videos, thanks for sharing.😎👍
The question you should be answering yourself is what are you happier on. You seem to be better suited to the Yamaha. Try changing your fork height up in the clamps to around 5mm approx. This will help with the heavy feel in the front. Two teeth less on the back sprocket will give you better top end speed while sacrificing lower speed gearing in the tight stuff.
I can say one thing... you hold that yz way tf more open than your ktm

I had very narrow cut bars for 8 years. Bought a new set and decided to leave them stock for a bit. I have way more stability with the stock length. It's worth having to turn the bars on really tight single track
We start single file 15 seconds apart in the D14 sprint enduros. Interesting you start in groups.

@John Kramer easier to ride a slower bike fast than it is to ride a fast 2 stroke slow can't be lugging a 2 stroke all the time need to rev it harder
As many state you are certainly faster on the YZ. The bike puts down loads of usable power and it doesn't do anything unexpected. Get the front forks dialed in and it will be your go to bike for pretty much everything. Chances are you need softer springs for the forks and a revalve. The engine on that bike is very powerful and very tuneable with that new app. Can't wait to see you ride a HS with this bike.

@@ConTheDon187 the new YZ250F's and the 2020 YZ250FX can connect to a smartphone via bluetooth and there is a Powertuner app you can download that lets you tune the engine. Looks pretty cool.

I do an event in Australia called the Transmoto 12 hour and they also run the spiral , fun but also weird seeing other bikes coming in the other direction haha.
Those conditions...wow. Dream stuff. UK is just mud, a little bit more mud and then sometimes mud.
YO Zach with the bars because there flexable bars the wider means more flex I personally like them how they come on my bikes but if the ktm has rigid twin wall bars I would cut the yam bars down and it will feel better for u

If you cut down your bars don't go any more than 1/4 off each side at a time and don't go more than 3/4 inch total. Find a sweet spot for you. The shorter you go, the less you'll be able to manage kicks to the front end. I ALWAYS run my steering bearings on the tight side. If you don't like the though of that, you may want to look into a stabilizer. I will say you seem way faster on the 250f, I'm the same way on my 350.

I noticed you mentioned about your handle bars being to wide you think you would mabie cut them down you actually get a lot better handling with wide handle bars well that's what I have noticed every time I get new wider handle bars

Another good result. Got the yammie running in the upper mid to top top end where it rips. Sounds good on the video, if too loud in person. Closed course racer for sure.

Zach, the 4 strokes have better "luggability" than the 2 strokes. You just have the MX version with a lighter fly wheel. The 250FX and WR250F versions have heavier fly-wheels and so are better at low RPM than the 250F
Change throttle tube, makes a humungous difference! Opens slow first half and fast second half

I cut my ktm bars down for motocross. They came at 811mm and it felt very wide. I cut 2.5mm off each end and it was a huge improvement in handling feel. I’m pretty sure the Yamaha bars already come stock in that 802-806mm range so I personally wouldn’t cut them but it’s up to you.

Ya do not cut the bars down my cousin is Aaron Plessinger and ive talked to him about it and he says don't do it also my dad and both my uncles are former gncc pros they rode for every manufacture there is and they also say don't do it.Youre looking good on the Yamaha, keep it up.

The ABB’s are a great crew. Looking forward to the upcoming Northeast 24hr on July 18th/19th. Did a 6 man team two years, two man two years and now 50+ Ironman for 2020 you guys should come do it again.

At 16:27 you state how the 250F has no lugging power, even tho you said you believe the 250F would make a better woods racer than the FX in the reveal video. The gearing on the FX allows it to lug. lol. anyways sick riding man. hope you heal up fast!

You're right where all the NYOA races are. I mean this race is probably two hours away from you haha. I'm up near Syracuse.
If the 4 stroke engine braking is causing issues, have you thought about getting a Rekluse TorqDrive replacement? From what I've heard, it's supposed to reduce the issue significantly.

Hey Zach I’m a motocross rider in Australia and have a yz250f 2019 model and we like wider bars for more control, but when I ride bush I find them a bit to wide and wanting them on the shorter side

Lets get scientific. Three different loops, one fast paced, one tight, one a mix of both. Handfull of laps on each bike, take average time for each and compare! oh and, "i even think i saw some chinese people.." hahaha
