Glad you found us! All the footage of that slide is in the intro of this video, as soon as we left the light we went to a different location. Glad you had some fun with us!
Forgive my ignorance here, just picked up a new (to me) 2013 Tahoe LTZ and the rear struts are seeping/need replacement. For the Rear Eibach's in your setup: Did you have to incorporate a workaround for the MagnaRide Sensors?
This build is a good guide for me and my Tahoe… my man tell me if those exhaust setup is wife proof? Sounds really good but I don’t know if is good for a long trip with family?
Zero drone. My wife doesn't like loud exhaust & she's fine with this. Sounds great at the tailpipe without being obnoxious & is still very nearly as quiet as OEM in the cabin.
If it were me, I would've put the 16 inch PPV brakes on. They have so much better heat dissipation and better braking leverage. You'll need 20 inch rims for them to fit, but it's totally worth it. Good chance to put some wider tires and a 2-3 inch lift. I'm planning to throw on some Michelin defender 295/65r20s on mine with a 3 inch lift. I'll loose some of the brake leverage, but they won't overpower the skinner tires as much, so stopping should be way better with a smoother ride. After that I'll regear the axles to 4.10, plus some really thick sway bars, a high stall converter, and a supercharger. I've got a 2007 6.2 6 speed escalade, it'll be a beast!
looking at doing the muffler.. is there a reason you chose this over like a flowmaster or magnaflow? just did the same powerstops and they are a huge upgrade.. went with bilsteins but did not know about these.. love the build!
@@1offgarage thanks for getting back -- now that I understand the difference, definitely leaning towards the vibrant / magnaflow -- would like to do your CAI as well.
@@1offgarage awesome, thanks! actually just got the CAI today and the new PredatorX tuner from Diablo... hopefully will be installing tomorrow, and then planning on doing the 93 tune as well. there's not a lot of info on the new tuner, so hopefully goes well. will do the exhaust next week. your video really resonated with me as I did the exact same brakes which are indeed awesome, so I'm following your lead on this other stuff -- really appreciate you making this video!
fyi, installed the CAI and 93 tune & DOD delete with the new predatorX tuner, about 2 hrs total. very noticeable improvement in performance but most notably in engine sound…. didn’t expect it to sound so much better! induction noise with throttle is awesome. the CAI kit is really high quality with simple install. can’t wait to get the exhaust done next week 👍 mine is a 2013 tahoe z71
I remove my hood on my Trucks when dune banishing the sand dunes and I also have to tell everyone there is no over heating problems just preventing heat soak power loss.
Yup! heads, manifold, cam, & long tubes to start. Boost will come later, likely through turbo for the efficiency & in this truck chassis we have plenty of room to fab the turbos ip however we'd like. A consistent E85 daily is tough here because the nearest station is over 1hr away. However because it already had the e85 sensor I will likely have it tuned for both 91/93oct pump & e85 and the sensor will be able to make the tune a sliding scale based on ethanol content!
Probably a quick spooling Twin Turbo setup for 8-12lb of boost. But it's tough to decide. Turbo will give me better power through the entire torque band & be more efficient. But a Supercharger would be much easier and possibly cheaper to order & install using a kit.
I believe the suspension is a little more expensive due to the auto ride leveling, but yes. Now your motor should be a 6.2L in an Escalade instead of the 5.3L like my Tahoe. That 6.2L is not only larger but also has much better breathing heads. So with a cam & long tubes you could make it a very formidable vehicle for a great price. Same 6L80 transmission like mine & if it's a 4x4 it's actually a full time AWD system designed mostly for street grip that is known to be pretty strong. So basically yes, just be sure to source the correct parts as not everything on my list will work for you, but some will.

Simple coil springs & shocks. However there are shocks specifically for the auto leveling system.

Flowmaster has baffles or chambers, causing resistance & turbulence. Magnaflow is very similar to this Vibrant but at about double the cost.

6 speed is more reliable. That being said, there are still a huge amount of 4 speeds still on the road today.
