I have finally caught up. (Binged all season 2 episodes in 3 days) After watching season 1 (back when they released) or should i say.. after i fell off season 1 a fair ways before you moved to the void dimension.. full transparency, i never continued season 1. BUT KUDOS TO YOU THREE! If its a movie or a tv show, the majority always says that “the first was the best” but you have proven thats not the case, at least not for this series! Season 2 is exponentially better in any and all ways imaginable. Be proud and stand firm! This creation of yours! Even if it takes you 10 years to do so. Ill still be here watching. I only pray that you’ll reach the Stargate, even if it wont be in this world. Or with this base. Still.. the Greg must live on! Its not a grind, for its a Greg.

Three said that setting up the crop bot takes an EV Circuit Assembling Machine, but if you look at the list of components/items for the crop bot (23:20 for reference) you'll note that none of them require that. The reason for this is in addition to crafting an extra Memory (T2) Three also mistakenly crafted something that was higher tier than it needed to be, and that ended up being the component that required the EV CAM. In short: This crop bot *can* be set up in early EV, as you need Titanium for the T3 computer case. Though at that stage you'll likely have to dive into stuff you wouldn't have to do until later otherwise (chiefly Epoxy for (More) Advanced Circuit Boards). Using batteries instead of crafting an infused solar panel? Disappointing, Three 🙃. That said infused solar panels are a reason why you might want to have your crops platform around Y220 instead, as that will generate more power using Aer infused solar panels than Ordo panels do (although Ordo panels don't require specific Y levels). Crop bots don't take so much power you really have to worry about optimizing your solar, mind, that's mainly for if you're going to be powering actually demanding machines off of solar alone. Alternatively Alternatively one might opt for Kinetic energy instead, if not for function than purely for looks, in which case I forget the optimal Y level is around 160. Plenty of ways to power a void base, whether you need a little power or a lot of power. RE: Internet Card you can get away with only using a Computer Case (Tier 2) if you don't use/need an Internet Card, which doesn't require Titanium, meaning you can set up your crop bot pre-Moon. Alternatively you could use some method of getting Titanium pre-Moon to set up your crop bot early, if you really want one in late HV. Up to you which method is best, honestly. You can tell that Three hasn't been doing enough magic when he converts a field like that manually instead of using his Equal Trade wand focus 🙃. Addendum to the growth >24 deal: You can make it work even in regular fields simply by placing crops in a checkerboard pattern rather than right next to each other. Doing this actually increases the air quality that crops receive, and prevents any sort of weed-based field destruction since weeds can only effect crops directly adjacent. Which, with a checkerboard pattern, there never is. It's also beneficial when putting crops in EIGs, because they don't care about crops growing so fast the act like weeds, but do care about crop stats and 31>24, meaning crops will grow faster. That said I imagine the crop bot is not programmed to handle >24 growth crops, so barring reprogramming the bot or manual farming I guess take what you can get. For the record Yellow Stonelily doesn't require Endstone, but it does require it to produce endstone dust. You can also give it sandstone, but in that case it'll only produce sand, which...I mean if that's useful for building, go ahead, but otherwise not really worth it. And one addendum to the Resistance stat: It also influences the chance of getting a seed bag to drop, but if you use a Dislocation wand focus (or a Transvector Dislocator, which is basically the block version of the focus) you can move crops as-is without having to worry about seed drop chances at all. There are other sources of oxygen, Sweeds in particular, but given the sheer power and expandability of EIGs later on (without completely tanking your FPS at least) high-statted crops are definitely the best long term solution to invest in for a lot of these sorts of problems. It's an ordeal to get a crop bot up and running, but it will pay dividends in short order. Fun fact about Glowflower, it's not the best crop to farm for Glowstone. That honor goes to Glowshrooms, which likewise can be extracted into glowstone dust, but have one less growth stage than glowflowers. However Glowshrooms have a higher base nutrient requirement (and lowered humidity requirement, which is basically meaningless), and Glowflowers can be given a glowstone block as a crux to "increase yield", so perhaps there's a serious competition going there. I've not tested it too thoroughly, so I'm not sure. Another reason why Stickreed is preferred for breeding is that it's a relatively high tier crop for how quickly it grows. This allows Stickreed to not only cross-breed quickly, but to yield a wider variety of crops when cross-breeding. You will eventually have to breed slower, even higher tier crops to generate even higher tier crops, but at that point you'll already have a solid stat base to go off of thanks to the Stickreed. Pollution can damage crops, but it takes a lot of pollution to reach that level. If you're even halfway intelligent with where you place your crop field, how you power it and how you power Electric Air Filters active within your crop space you shouldn't ever have to worry about pollution. One final note RE: IC2 crops. The concept where you place a double crop stick next to a single crop to duplicate it doesn't exist in GTNH, as that is a mechanic that Agricraft invented. If you want to duplicate crops in GTNH you need to either crossbreed, with all the RNG that entails, or use the crop manipulation machines and all of the complications *they* entail. It's one more situation where having a crop bot helps immensely.
I *think* the open blocks sprinkler can be used with IC2 crops for extra growth ticks. I’ve certainly had farms setup with sprinklers before (with no robot), but I didn’t test rigorously.
Mate, I love your videos. I don't have the time, or patience to play Gregtech, so I only play easier packs (although in this context, I don't know if "easier" is the appropriate adjective). It's great to be able to enjoy Gregtech through your videos. 👍
Salty root is a lot less useful than it was, got nerfed, the bee is way better A few crops can be less than 24 growth and still give weeds, but only a few can Fertilized farmland gives no bonus to ic2 crops White metal can also be mixed and smelted in a furnace, No ABS needed
Great video mate!! Also I think you can change the settings of your void world by interacting in a certain way with it. I saw kharax86 do it with his when he was doing some bees
Void metal is super easy with moon dirts - or if you did IC2 Magic Metal Berries, you'll have so much you'll start voiding it. Also, Steeleaf soft mallets are best, not ironwood. XD
"I'm not a programmer" > Uses someone else's code instead of writing it himself > Watches it for hours trying to debug an error > Can't understand why it isn't doing the simple task of putting item X in chest Y > "I've been up all night trying to fix this" This is being a programmer Three, you're doing it perfectly
I really like hearing the info, i only wish you could've said like what the crops are good for? near the end you said you'd probably plant some stonelily and sugar beet, and i can guess what sugar beet is, but i just found myself wondering what stonelily was
Could you put conveyors pulling from one chest to another so they're all filling the Iron chest while you're doing crops? Or maybe a Conduit, dunno if having the chest constantly full is gonna be a problem or not.
TPV coils are, regrettably, hideously ugly and replace the much better looking Tungstensteel coils, but the changes they bring to progression (which are still a bit WIP/up in the air, as far as I understand) are significant. Of course my main interest is being able to set up Planar Gateways pre-T2 rocket, because the fewer *epic* twenty second countdowns and liftoffs I have to sit through, the better 🙃. Steeleaf soft mallets have twice the durability of ironwood mallets, so anyone who has been diligent in exploring the Twilight can get much higher durability soft mallets than even ironwood. Mind you that ironwood soft mallets themselves will last a *long* time, having triple the durability of the highest tier rubber based soft mallet. Considering the point of a LGT's front is, ostensibly, air intake, it doesn't make sense to me to make the intake area smaller. That said the new textures work when wallsharing, which the old texture does not, so there is that. White Metal Dust does have a Mixer recipe, albeit an EV mixer recipe, so you can craft it without an ABS. It's not common that GT++ alloys have mixer recipes, but some do. For the record these sorts of magic infusion recipes are only this slow because Three is still using the most basic of tools. Feeding Alumentum to Alchemical Furnaces lets them diffuse Essentia faster, upgrading them to (newly fixed/buffed in 2.3.0) single block Advanced Alchemical Furnaces would likewise dramatically speed up Essentia diffusion, a multiblock AAF even more so yet again, and of course an Alchemy Golem if not outright Thaumic Energistics would make the whole process a lot easier/faster/more automated. It simply hasn't been a priority to set all of that stuff up because the increasingly mounting pile of unprocessed ores had to be dealt with immediately, which required setting up centralized power to support *that* setup, etc., etc. GTNH can be very complicated like that with how so many things interconnect or step on each other's toes, and require you to figure out not just what to do but in what order to do them in. While keeping everything else running, at that. I did mention that good Well/ruined house loot was rare, right? Well, in case I didn't: It's rare. It's very much worthwhile to dive into Warp and unlock the research to get the actual recipe for void metal, if only because that research will unlock several actual uses for void metal, but it's another one of those priority things: You don't want to dive head-first into Warp until you're prepared to deal with it, which can be done as early as HV. But if you were to get distracted during that process, say with setting up AE2 digital storage, well...enjoy Warp 🙃. If you invest into Thaumcraft heavily enough it is possible to auto-craft the Master Magic Energy Absorbers, and use them as a passive power source. In practice it's a lot of materials for 1A HV per absorber, but you can do a lot with just HV power. Crops are useful for a lot more than just "direct" resources - for example, Fluorine from Black Granite Dust produced by Black Stonelilly crops - as well. Have you ever wanted a steady source of Tutamen/Armor Essentia? Black Granite Dust has one Perditio and one Tutamen essentia per dust. Long distance item transfer in the same dimension is never an issue bar the *very* early game, because Long Distance Item Pipes are basically designed to solve that problem. Same with fluids and the fluid version of long distance pipes. Walking back and forth is inconvenient, but there's ways to make that faster and faster as you advance through the tiers as well. Basically you can make the Fungi Forest work even as early as LV...but the reason you'd set up shop there is because you don't have a personal void dim available, not because it's better. Since Three does have the personal dim portal available there's really no reason not to set up shop there instead, especially since it's going to be the long term home for crops anyway. Yes, the personal dim is a single biome all the way through, and there is at least one crop that won't thrive well in the damp environments that most (if not all) other crops prefer, but that's not a problem that a sufficiently clever (and, ideally, practised) Witch can't solve. For the record the options you've got in terms of the personal dim are actually fairly limited. The vast majority of biomes (basically all of the non-vanilla ones, I believe) are blacklisted, and likewise you're not allowed to make your personal dim out of a large variety of blocks. No fair making a personal dim out of Stargate block, the devs thought of that one 🙃. Beyond that, have fun creating a customized dimension. One final note about the portal dim block specifically: You can activate it remotely using an Activation wand focus, and at a far greater distance than what the Thaumonomicon indicates (the Thaumonomicon claims 32-82 blocks depending on focus upgrades, but with a maxed out focus even >120 blocks seems to work). Very handy if you want to be able to access your portal dim without having to trudge to the actual block every single time. The questbook gives you a Silky Jewel relatively early, so you should have no trouble grabbing grass blocks if you need/want any. If you are having issues, for whatever reason, there is a crucible recipe to craft both grass and Mycelium blocks. The latter can be found naturally spawning in the Twilight Forest, however, or the Overworld in certain biomes. As with most GT recipes SMD Inductors have multiple recipes, so make sure to check NEI and see which recipe is the best one for you at any given point in time. Also, no, I don't know why Three went for the third best SMD Inductor recipe when, with his ore processing system, he definitely should have access to the second best recipe using Tantalum instead of Platinum. The best recipe is still very much not doable, though, replacing Platinum/Tantalum fine wire with Iridium instead. For the record, there are machines that allow you to extract crop stats and synthesize new crops using those extracted stats. However the process is extremely costly, both in terms of machines as well as power requirements, in addition to needing UU Matter, which is it's own rabbithole. In addition to that, later on, there is the Extreme Industrial Greenhouse, or EIG, that is able to farm IC2 crops very quickly and efficiently. Basically what you're seeing here is at best midgame as far as IC2 crops are concerned. There will be more down the line. More specifically, that "explosion" sounds was a Fake Sound warp effect. It's a very low tier warp effect, but finally Three has reached the point of Warp actually having any sort of impact (however minor). It's something to celebrate because remember that you cannot deal with warp without diving into warp first. Avoiding it is just going to prolong the suffering.

whats the piano song at 10:00 ? btw love the series!
I enjoy your story!!!
29:13 , not to be confused with programming tutorials
this is minecraft
shoutout to breeks
Good to have him back with us, right? :D
Good job Mr robot guy
LONG EPISODE LETS GOOO!!!!❤❤❤
Breeks is back!!!!
I do miss IC2 crops
Threefold keep the long video uploads please!
50 minutes??! Lets goooo
Just downloaded GTNH because of this series…
Awesome! It's the beginning of something great :D
