These videos really helps us to appreciate what is involved. Can't imagine the responsibility to getting these huge giant carts around the very challenging routes. Very impressive from start to finish.
Fantastic video, Great to see it from a drivers perspective and the challenges you face, It's easy to stand and watch but the concentration you have is amazing, Superb driving, women make far better drivers, they don't take chances like alot of men do, look forward to more videos like this during the upcoming season, thank you for taking the time to do this, just brilliant
Another Christmas arrives and another New Year is almost here. It has been great to tune into your world every week and hear your enthusiasm for farming and life in general. Best wishes to you and all your crew.
Just discovered your channel Jemma and love it😀 watching this one brings back such good memories my mum and dad used to take us to wells carnival every year, happy days😀😀
Thank you. To be honest most people in carnival that go on the carts didn’t realise what we did to move them until I put the videos out😁 hoping for better weather at burnham this year
i really enjoy these carnival videos i go to bridgwater and Glastonbury carnivals it has always been my dream to join a carnival club and to drive them around the procession keep up the good work!
Thank you. Clubs are always looking for new members. The more the merrier. Vagabonds are always happy to take new members. All you need to do is contact the official pages for the club 👍🏼
Great video Jemma, massive respect to you, still not all that many women in the industry, the lot I work for,we have out of 220 trucks 5 women,1 on wagon and drag, one on artics both on bagged aggregate, the others on 8 wheeler tippers. The prime mover on the float looks suspiciously like a Ford Cargo, one of the first trucks I drove when I got my class one in 1990 in both rigid and tractor unit form. Now drive a nes gen Volvo FM500 on aggregate/glass recycling tipping work.Keep the vids coming, and stay safe.
Yes although I think you will see it Change a lot in the next 5 years. So many girls are going through there tests at the moment. Yes your right it’s an Old Ford cargo iveco ☺️
Hi Jemma - well done excellent video , good for others to see what drivers get up to 😂 and have to put up with - cold and wet sometimes and you don’t move to keep warm . Remember I only had a shirt on at Glastonbury , shivering by the end I don’t mind telling you . 🤦♂️I used to where a heated jacket , 12 volt , between carnivals sometimes , especially the long journey back to Shaftesbury from Glastonbury . Personally as a driver I loved wells , more interesting all those corners . 😂😂 Kind regards Steve B
Thank you. Yes we all have our own little ways to keep warm. I learnt the hard way on my first year. Distances travelling can feel like forever in those conditions. I always volunteer for wells myself for the same reasons ☺️☺️
Massive respect to you. women get very bad rep for driving in general that’s not realy needed but to be able to drive a 100 foot rig takes guts to do well done to you
Didnt need to wrap up like that this year, i was driving ours in just my boiler suit, too damn hot. When i built the unit i thought it was a good idea to route some of the radiator fan air into the cab 😂
Again an interesting video! The dancers seem to have a safety belt/hook against falling off, don't they? (When you told about the uneven road surface.)
Yes they do have harness but even with the harness if they loose their footing I’m guessing it will still hurt a bit 😬☺️ I really don’t want to do that if I can help it
I used to drive a Carnival float, but only an 8 wheeler, nothing as long as these, but with inconsiderate parkers, and heaving crowds, a challenge, none the less.
Yes it was very odd. I know wells struggled to get Marshall’s so a lot of them were new. I’m hoping it’s just a learning curve. I love wells carnival and it would be a shame for it not to go ahead because they couldn’t get enough people
It’s a really tough corner. One of the clubs hit it this year, luckily only a little and not much damage and didn’t need a wrecker. Unfortunately if you do get stuck there a wrecker is your only way out
@@tjlifts4068 Shambles did get stuck on that corner in 2017 your correct :) . However didn’t smash a window infact had no contact with the building at all. Thanks to the amazing team at frost rescue we managed to resume procession and better still managed to secure a first place in the local feature catagory. Great video also @Jemma Warren and bringing a amazing insight in the behind the scenes whilst showing the serious stuff also. Great job & Thank you to your club for letting us borrow some duck tape in our hour of need 👍 Luke Shambles Carnival Club
Great job very interesting I have not seen anything like that 😊😊😊
Jemma, you've got nerves of steel driving that cart. Well done.
Yes one word awesome. Hats off to all the carnival clubs.🇬🇧🏴
one word BRILLLLLLLLLIANT
It makes driving your Scania look easy Jemma. You have so many things to check it's not easy, you were really brilliant.👏👏
That's a big, serious responsibility, professionally executed. Well done.
Thank you ☺️

Thank you. We definitely do it out of love and passion for being involved in such a great carnival ☺️
I Enjoy that one you went to fast at the end ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
So informative, I go to Bridgwater Carnival every year & I love it.
Jemma, I think you are amazing you are so thorough and very experienced. You should be proud of your achievements. You are also a very nice person.
That is a remarkable achievement by any standard to manoeuvre that vehicle. Extremely well driven.
Thank you ☺️

Great job driving Jemma
Great video Jemma
Wow! Quite a production!
Fabulous, really enjoyed watching this 😎

Hi very interesting. I would like to see the full vehicle. The plastic layer of clothing is a good idea. 👍
Absolutely superb work Jemma
I drove my family down from Hertfordshire just for the Bridgewater carnival a few years ago ,a very memorable night .
Love carnival and we are regulars at Burnham-On-Sea carnival and thank you for sharing this insight into your part. Drive safe and thank you again 👍

really intresting seeing all what goes on behind the scenes
Thank you! It’s something relatable yet unusual ☺️
Yes people always said I looked too serious . Know just how you feel . Concentrating - well done again Jemma
I have so many photos of me looking miserable 🤣🤣
good driving. ace vid.
Thank you ☺️
Excellent video x
Thank you and thank you for watching ☺️
The best show in the uk
I think so ☺️☺️

Ford Cargo LOL, they was a beast to drive in the 80's

@@jemmawarren27 You're right about that, but luckily they can't fall off with their heads hitting the ground.
Yes very true it is better than not having one ☺️
Another very interesting video and insight into carnivals. When parked up between carnivals are the floats protected?❤
Thank you. Yes they have security there at all times ☺️
is that song you use "baiana" by clozee???
Will there be a Glastonbury one?
I didn’t drive at Glastonbury and dont have enough footage to do one. I will be doing one of us putting the cart away back in the shed
@@jemmawarren27 Cool
Is that cart based on a Ford Cargo with a Cummins L10 ?
You look amazing

Yes it’s a huge responsibility whatever the vehicle. So much could go wrong in the wrong hands ☺️
No road crew is ridiculous.... hope that changes next year...
Never heard such nonsense.... Well done love..x

What licence do you need to drive a carnival cart?
If it’s pulled by a lorry a class 1 C+E
@@jemmawarren27 thank you
Is there anythink you carnt do 👍👍
I went to wells isn’t it the tightest one?
They all have their tight bits but I reckon it has to be one of the tightest on that section by the 2 corners in succession ☺️
@@jemmawarren27 Ye in 2017 Shambles got stuck on the 2nd one and got pulled out by a truck as well as smashed a window

No crowd barriers at Wells then 🙈🤦♂️
First
Thank you 🎉🥳
What do you about insurance you must pay a fortune as local carnival hasn't used trucks for for that reason i really miss the use of the vehicles.
The insurance is all done by the club you are with. There is a lot of fundraising throughout the year for all the clubs. Take care
