I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks there's a lot needed for this game to be decent. Like a quick switch between rods instead of having to press the rod selection button selecting the rod only to miss the strike. And a better explanation of interest the fish has in the bait. I have no idea of when a fish is going to strike, what colour means what?
I only tried it yesterday with a bit of pike and perch fishing and comparing it to the real thing fishing on a uk river teaming with perch and pike, it’s fairly realistic. For example the way you reel in different lures at certain speeds and when you play the fish when you have a fish on. I can’t comment on everything else yet 👍
At last a non fanboi like myself who's only aim is to critique these titles and hold them to account to the boasts they make when punting the game out. They all call themselves simulators and not 1 of them is fit to have that title anywhere in the game. Probably like yourself I have beta tested all of the current fishing games on the Market except for this one as I refuse to even entertain Dovetail Games. Keep up the good work

Well i think it does not matter how many types of fish there is because theres fishing games out there that as onley bass in the game and there good games
I strongly suggest you to play without the HUD. It will be more realistic, almost night and day. When you play with the hud, you're just playing with the metered indicators and not really studying the fish's movement. When I started playing hudless, the game really started to shine, and made me appreciate the game even more.
Here's a couple of issues found within the first half hour of gameplay... float fishing is pointless as you cannot see the float due to the icon 4 times it size above it, using more than 1 rod with bait is a waste of time because you can NEVER cast out all 3 rods without one of them getting a run first, and for lure fishing, reel speed 2 is too slow and 3 is too fast, so a constant retrieve is very difficult to achieve. Also the graphics look awful.
There's nothing wrong with this game pal its what it is one of best i would say if u want better fishin get a rod some bait and do it in real life what do u want from a game

Has a lot of potential, but DTG and corner cutting go hand in hand.

Liked the review, but you go thru the screens and choices so fast that you can't follow what's going on.

Wouldnt be a Dovetail Game without a plethora of rods being present. Its a no from me.
