Wow Kelly, this was so helpful. I never would have thought to place objects or cut outs on a page and move them around. And yet I do this with graphic design. I just didn’t think to apply the same technique to a watercolor page. It would be fantastic if would consider showing this again in some of your other projects. So we can see your thought process on a few different examples. But you come up with so many great tips, so I will be happy with whatever videos you want to create. 😊 Thank you!

Moving objects helps you learn about space a lot more than anything and that is what I use to struggle with. I do like open space like the dog but an overall piece with connections is much more pleasing. I will add another design project to my RUclips list, thank you for requesting another one.

This is so helpful (as well as interesting). I’ve done photography for many years so looking for the right composition in a landscape is something I’m very comfortable with but actually composing the picture is something quite different. Thank you for taking the time to explain so clearly .

Good day, Kelly - Composition has always been one of my favorite things to play with. My partner Keith still doesn't like the concept of "the rule of thirds" and he needs everything aligned and centered. (YAWN!!!) If I offset one of my animals to the side to show a flow of action, it bugs the heck out of him. I have learned to allow it to roll off of me like water off of a duck! LOL. This is a great video. Thank you!

That is so funny. I have a friend that always straightens my off kilter shelf objects LOL

I loved this! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this. The explanation of looking for the details and placement. I have always been a decent home decorator and make my walls look nice so it is sort of the same idea - blank wall- blank piece of paper but I would not have put two and two together without all your detailed explanations. I’m getting there little by little. ❤

It does take time and you will be working on a much much smaller scale inside a sketchbook but the premise is the same. I'm thrilled you found it informative and inspiring!

This is exiting process. Thank you for kind reminder that it takes time to master any skill. I only wish you show us the final painting too.

As artists we are always so hard on ourselves. Learning and growth take a lot of time. It's just nice to remember that. I did the final painting in Part 2 which was released today, enjoy!
