Why is the dad seen as a good guy? He keeps sleeping around and having kids with other women. How is op seen as the bad guy with any of it? You have the right to have nothing to do with the dad’s other kids and even the dad.

I think just because she needs him to be, he's her dad. And he seems emotionally attentive in most aspects except the cheating and then he took action to change that too

Just listened to the full story and my God....OP's father is a serial cheater and has five other kids outside his marriage. One of his mistresses, is 24 and a TA at OP's school. The mom knows he's a cheater but refuses to divorce her husband. She forgives him each time and is the main reason why OP has no relationship with her half siblings. She also pretends that the other children doesn't exist and OP was never allowed to see them or talk to/about them. The parents are a mess. With the death of one of the siblings, OP and the other siblings are working on their relationship. Still think it was wrong that the dad and the kid who died mom asked her to give the eulogy simply because she was the oldest. She had only met her half-brother the week before he died when she and Eliza visisted him in the hospital

The OP should be upset at her father and not at her half siblings because it's not their fault that they're both born in this unfortunate situation, the fault lies with your father in the long run and he doesn't realize that big time and be upset with your mom as well for not having the fortitude to divorce your father and never will, so be upset with your parents and not with your half siblings because that's where your source of your anger and no one else period.
You are not an asshole, I know how it is and how you feel I don’t want anything to do with my Dad’s other kids cuz they’re not my siblings, you have the right to be angry and have the right to not want to see them, your dad made that choice and you can make yours
