    I am a Senior lady. When I get coupons, I cut out and bring them when I shop. I include baby items coupons. I love going to the baby department, and putting coupons on diapers, food, or whatever. I feel wonderful knowing how happy those coupons will make a Mother with a baby. It is my good deed for the day.

      What a lovely idea! Once I had a lady hand me a few of hers another time the cashier discounted a few items saying :you come here regularly but you don't seem to get any coupons in your mail so let's get you a little reduction...so sweet
      (The reason I don't have coupons is I don't have any flyers of shops to stop me from buying things on offer I don't really need)

    Just when you have the aisles memorized the grocery store moves things around to make you look at the items you never would buy.

    • @bun04y
      @bun04y 3 года назад

      When my store does this I ask for the print out of where they moved everything. Unfortunately it is kinda like the big sign they have that has items in alphabetical order and the aisle number... but if you study it, you can figure it out. I find it more difficult when they don't change the aisle, but just move the items around on the aisle.

    I know it’s more time consuming but I’m a “cherry picker” shopper which means I’ll get the sale or less expensive items at different stores. I don’t go to every store every week. I know what and where I want to buy from my list. I use coupons as well as rebate apps like Ibotta also. It just depends how much time you want to put into it. I like to stock my extra freezer with sale items so I don’t have to purchase much all the time. Some weeks I only need fresh items. A good freezer tip is to use Press’nSeal. It’ll keep meat fresher then just leaving it in the store packaging. Also I’d like to see a vacationing on a budget video.

    Before going to store compare the promotions between stores, know the minimum price of an item, sometimes brand items go lower than generic in promotions (got brand rice for 65c of euro for kg and store rice is 77c), promotions are always rotative buy enough of items you use to last until next promotion, write a list of what you have in the pantry, fringe and freeze, go less often to buy groceries, fresh produce properly stored lasts at least 2 weeks, don't buy pre made meals, know your portions, eat enough to maintain an healthy weight. If you are overweight you are buying too many calories (excluding the 1% of the aces that are due to metabolic imbalances).

    I hate grocery shopping and never tried the grocery pick up until covid started. What a game changer! I can price compare at home without being in someone’s way in the store and it’s easier to stick with the budget. If we’ve gone over what we want to spend then we go through the online cart to see what can be removed or what can wait til the following week before checking out. Same with Target shopping because that store can be dangerous to the bank account.

I am 90% better now and still use this service. It save me money because I'm not in the store being tempted. And as I make my grocery list on their website, it keeps tabs on how much I'm spending. Pretty sweet. When I am able I also shop at a big store called Winco, because their prices are great as are their store brands. Tomorrow we are going to Costco, and if you really pay attention to prices, you get great deals there. But you do need to put some thought into it. Hello Jennifer,
    I am sure you know this, but just in case others don’t know technically we are not debt free when you pay off your house.
    1. Real Estate Taxes
    2. Water
    3. Garbage Pickup
    4. Sewer
    5. Health Insurance
    6. Medicine or Medical Insurance
    7. Car Insurance
    8. Car Registration Fee every several years
    All the above and replacing broken appliances, furniture. So just because you paid your mortgage in full you may be “debt free in paying a mortgage” however, you still have typically money that is owed to other people for just living in a paid home. That tallying up to about 1500 or more depending where you live. So there is no such thing as debt free!

    • @KristynLorraine
      @KristynLorraine 3 года назад +2

      You're paying for those things as you use them. Debt implies a loan. Debt free doesn't mean you never have to pay for anything again, it means you don't owe anything on a loan like a mortgage, auto loan, or college debt. I have no debts but of course I still have bills for utilities, insurance, groceries, property tax, etc. I doubt anyone is confused by the difference between a bill and an interest bearing debt.

    Tip # 38 for saving your money, are you still washing your dishes with a dishwasher, stop wasting your money, go to the dollar store buy a plastic wash basin, drying rack and a bottle of liquid detergent and wash them by hand, its faster and its cheaper.

      sinks though. why do you need a basin when you have a sink

      @@annievautour9069 Good point, a basin takes less water to fill and if you have a stainless steel sink calicum will build up and make it harder to clean.

      @@bruce5895 true! never thought of that. I just clean the sink with Comet. I have always used those thick plastic basins for washing dishes while camping though!!

      @@annievautour9069 If you keep using your sink it also wears out the stoppers and makes the bottom grates gritting, then you end up having to replace them, if you want your sink to look nice spend a few dollars and buy a good stainless steel cleaner. Or another cheap way to clean the sink is wet it down sprinkle on baking soda and rub in the direction of the grain, then spray undiluted vinegar, wait a few minutes, wait again, rinse off and your done.

    I actually use an app called grocery shopping calculator. You can add tax and the percentage! Super helpful for costco trips :)

      @@tammybragdon7313 yes the app is by "Sleep Easy Budgeting LLC" in the Google play store. Maybe if you have iPhone there's another comparable app. What I love about this app is that you can change the tax and only apply it to relevant items. So you know exactly the amount due!
