  • St. John is paradisiacal vision of the Caribbean. There are few tropical places on earth more visually enthralling, spiritually enriching, or soulfully inspiring. In this video, I take a 17' rigid bottom inflatable boat on a tour around the island of St. John to visit several exquisite white sand beaches and the world famous Maho Bay.
St. John is a pristine paradise which affords visitors the opportunity to indulge the very best of Caribbean lifestyle. The island's beaches are world renowned for their silky soft sand and impossibly clean azure waters. For those who savor the sweet essence of Caribbean rum - St. John is the epicenter of tropical libations.
In this episode, we travel by dinghy from Cruz bay to Hawksnest Bay for a snorkeling session, followed by a rough water ride up to Maho beach for a round of painkiller cocktails and fish tacos. After that, we make our way to Watermelon bay, then back down to Henley key, and finally over to Honeymoon beach! If you're wondering where the best beaches in the US Virgin Islands are - you're in luck - because i'm taking you to see them first hand! We had to contend with heavy winds during our trip, which prevented us from visiting several other coves around St. John, but you certainly won't be disappointed with the destinations we explored.
If you're considering a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands - you should absolutely go. Both St. Thomas and St. John are U.S islands, which means you do not need a passport to visit! The U.S. Virgin Islands are easily accessible from Miami International Airport and Ft. Lauderdale International Airport - with multiple flights departing daily.
If you're wondering which US Virgin Island has the prettiest beaches - the answer is undoubtedly St. John. The sprawling white sands and crystal clear waters which adorn the shore lines are nothing short of a miracle on earth.
Is St. John USVI expensive? They have a saying about that - "you need to make alot of money to be broke on St. John!". Yes - St. John is one of the most expensive Caribbean islands on which to reside. Visiting will cost you a pretty penny, with the average drink costing $15!
What do you need to know before going to St. John? That's easy - your itinerary! The port at Cruz Bay is small, and while you can walk around to explore shops, bars, and restaurants - you definitely need a transportation plan in order to reach all the beautiful beaches and the more rustic east end of the island. You will have to take the ferry boat from Red Hook on St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, and if you don't want to rent a car to get around, you'll be relying on Taxi's , which are very expensive. Although - if you are nautically inclined - you can always rent a dinghy and navigate the island by boat!
Is St. John USVI walkable? Absolutely...if you want to stay in the Cruz bay port. It would be very strenuous to walk all the way to Maho Beach, or even Hawksnest beach...but you certainly could...if you're feeling very athletic. For the most part, St. John USVI is walkable if you want to stay in the town, and enjoy the shops, bars, and restaurants. If hiking is your thing...you're in luck, because there is exceptional hiking on St. John island. You can even have a taxi drop you off at a trail head, then make your way down to a beach, where another taxi can pick you up and return you to the ferry dock. Make sure to understand the geography of the island before you attempt to walk long distances - St. John is basically a small mountain!
If you're considering a trip to the USVI, be sure to subscribe to this channel! I'll be posting a variety of videos over the next few weeks with all kinds of insights and tips on things to do in St. Thomas and things to do on St. John.

You need to add Dougs invented float. Founder is from Isles of Capri, Fl
The Zero Gravity Float™️ is simple and functional. From beach pillow to float with beverage holders. Attached a leash for ideal snorkeling, bring your water bottles with you. Cheers 👍

Hi, hello. It's my 1st time watching your videos, of which I've enjoyed plentyful. Starting with the panoramic views, the mouthwatering food dishes,
the tropical drinks, and the snorkling aspects of marine life.
I also watched the BELIZE video.
    Question:
What are the reasons, you anchor your inflatable boat off-shore?..
    Thank you.
And, many blessings to you and your wife.
    😊

Thanks so much for watching! The reason we tie up to a floating buoy is because "beaching" or "landing" a dinghy on the shore can cause damage to the hull or lower unit of the engine. The "moorings" around the beaches of St. John require a swim to shore, but that's part of the experience!

That's crazy the lady let ya video her at Paddle in Tiki Bar. I asked the girl on the left if I could for my RUclips channel Beanero Outdoors, and I got a very stern "no" lol. I saw your video though and was like "Holy Crap, that's the good cook guy from Stanz Fam". Liked the video man! Hope ya liked the island pour too for your painkiller at Maho! Sub'd. Love St John. My wife's uncle and aunt live on the island. Next time try the bourbon painkiller, you won't be disappointed!

you sir, have great taste in islands and tiki bars! It's all about the approach with filming - some people love it, others can't stand it. Now you have a reason to go back! Great to have you here and awesome to hear you're a Stanz fan as well! I'm Sub'd to Beanero Outdoors as well! Keep it up!

You might get lucky and find a cold beer for sale at Caneel Bay Beach Club! I would recommend loading up a backpack cooler in town and bringing it with you...just in case.
