  • Hello Friends,
Found an incredible collection of music at a thrift store in the Los Angeles area, from promo copies to a really rare jazz label. One of the best finds I have stumbled across recently.
No wine in today's episode, but the question of the day is what was your best find in the wild (thrift to yard sale, or maybe the dollar bin at your record store)? Let me know in the comments.
    Thank you for watching.

Absolutely, with the Wayne Shorter albums! That Strata east record was bonkers--I couldn't believe that one. Thank you for watching and supporting!

Your channel came a cross my feed. You got some great thrift finds. I love thrifting. Most of my collection came from the dig. It’s always great to find a Diamond among the stones. You are correct. Goodwill has got some crazy pricing lately. Btw. I subbed your channel. I had so many great finds. The best was the majority of Chicago discography. In VG+ or better condition.

Thank you very much for watching. That is nice to nearly complete a band's discography! Also, with great condition is the best.

Extrapolation is a scorcher of a record. It's what I call 'cheap heat'. The Sax playing by John Surman is second to none. Nice Court and Spark/Ladies of the Canyon. Those top notch early 70's Joni never disappoint. Nice score of Skies of America. It's an orchestral free jazz LP. Quite different from usual Ornette. That Miroslav Vitous is killer. Native Dancer is more of a Milton Nacimento record than a Wayne Shorter one, but Supernova is also excellent. Kenyatta also fire. His first album on ECM is worth tracking down. Larry Ridley, what a find! You have indeed hit the motherlode.

It was a rare bigtime score. Thank you for watching and I will be looking out for that Girl from Martinique record.
      Also, I am loving Extrapolation.

Just recently stumbled upon some good funk and Blue Notes at the thrift store and they were exactly as you put it…destroyed😢 still had to grab a few though! Luckily nothing that mind blowing so that I didn’t have to shed any tears over destroyed classics lol. Nice finds, dude!

It's still very cool to find Blue Notes at the thrift store--but that is how they generally end up there. What was the coolest title?
Thank you for watching and the kind words.

@@wax_n_wine Agreed! Still really cool to see. But a couple I picked up were a WLP of Louisiana Slim by Leon Spencer and Drives by Lonnie Smith. Probably the two coolest there and even though they’re not great I couldn’t just leave them there. But you’re very welcome!
