Thanks, Cylinders were from Home depot $11.00 ea. the black ones. the switches were from Amazon 110vac 60hz pneumatic 3way sol, switches. I have several old air compressor parts lay around so I installed a small air regulator on the back of the coffin, and set it around 60psi, why so high? well my coffin door is kinda heavy and 60 works good. Good idea going to pnuematics, I have burned up many-a-motors trying to make things work. good luck. and thanks again.
I put the reg on the coffin so I could have full pressure from the A/C to run other stuff. So yes, you can do that, however the length of hose will cause a Volume error (ballooning effect) and you will not get a constant regulated pressure. Word of Caution: make sure you have a stop built in. other wise the Cylinder will separate and explode. That is why I have the Chain on the door.
Great prop! Those screen door cylinders work great. Which ones did you use? Thinkining of moving towards pneumatics... what psi is she set at? What valves did you use? I've motorized my stuff using old cordless drills but pneumatics seem easier. I never had a compressor up untill this year.... so ...
This is a great video for a Popup Coffin with multi pneumatics. One thing I am not sure of is weather you are using the timer to control both the lid and Claudia, (to stagger/time open/close of both vs one)? I have that timer but not able to get it to do both - i.e. open lid first then monster, then lower monster fist then lid. Thanks!
+ThePegsas , Here you go. www.electronics123.com/shop/product/interval-timer-kit-4911?search=timer. this was my first video, so i could of had more info. sorry.
I used some simpson angle brackets from home depot for the base, and drilled a hole in the side of the PVC and ran a long machine screw thru the hone and the top of the actuator. I used the hardware from the screen door actuator to operate the lid.
Hi Todd, So Im having trouble getting the correct positioning of the actuator to lift the lid. It appears that you are lifting yours from the hinge side.
$ 11 cylinders ... can't beat that! Thanks for the reply. If I only have one prop on the compressor, do you think I could get away with using the built in regulator on the compressor?

Probably the best i have seen! Thanks for sharing.

Screen door actuators....Great idea!
Can you show the mech for Claudia how the closer is attached it wasn't clear in the video. Thanks =)
Stian the cedar sides an lid with viniger and steelwool and it will silver.
Awesome job! I'm making a similar project, what type of timer did you use, it was hard to see in the video, thanks

Hi Im trying to replicate your coffin design. Do have any suggestions on how to mount your actuator?
I used some simpson angle brackets from home depot for the base, and drilled a hole in the side of the PVC and ran a long machine screw thru the hone and the top of the actuator.

Hi Todd,

Can you please explain how you connected all the electrical wiring including the Interval Timer Circuit. I am a lost. Thanks in advance!!!
watch part 2
OMG I love it

Hi after you bored out your cylinder with 5/16 bit did you re-tap it? If so what size?
Thanks!
I tapped out the bore, for the 1/4 tube fitting, i think it was a 1/4 NF tap, it was a while ago.
nice!
She looks a little masculine to me.. more like Claude...😮 peq
