- Hello everyone! This video will be the final video in my "shaving head" realated series, mainly because I don't know what else I would add lol. Anyways, I shaved my head back in June 2020 and it has officially been a year and a half. So, should you shave your head? Was shaving my head worth it? Well, I guess you'll have to watch the video to find out :) Are you wanting to shave your head/ have you shaved your head before? If so, what was the experience like for you? This has been really informative. I want to shave my head so badly because my depression has reached a point where I'm no longer able to regularly maintain my hair, so for the past 6 months it's just a matted clump. I also have really bad psoriasis too, so I want to get my hair out of the way to try and fix my scalp.
i’m in a similar situation and i did it. i’m not going to lie to u, i don’t like the way it looks on me and my face shape and it makes me very insecure. wigs help a lot though, even cheap ones can work! it was pretty useful regarding my lifestyle lol. it requires little to no care, and showers are way less difficult now. u decide if it’s worth it or not!!
@@kitkats Yeah, I don't really think I'd look good with a shaved head, but I don't leave the house and if it means I'll be able to shower regularly again, I think it might be worth doing.
Did you do it yourself or did you go to a friend/salon/barber?
I have really bad psoriasis too it always happens at night because of my anti histamine response
@@jdprettynails hi, I had very bad depression as well, to the point where my hair started falling off in clumps from stress and ended up shaving my head .. it didn’t fit me so I invested in a wig. I’m a couple months in and I’m actually starting to like how my hair looks 😊
I got to the point where I couldn’t leave my bed and my roommate had to take care of me so this has helped a lot. I’d say before you shave your head, look into some wigs (just incase) and know that hair will always grow back! I used to always try and take great care of my hair only for it to start falling off and ultimately lead to me shaving it off. This has taught me to just have fun with it. Color it, cut it, perm it and just don’t take it so seriously. Have fun with it and find your style ❤️
@@Findingsuitcase Thanks for your response, so since that post instead of shaving my head, I just cut off all the matted bits so now my hair is short and spiky. It's not styled or anything, but I quite like it. It's longer on the top so I've got a bit of a cockatoo thing going on. I've never had my hair this short before, but I feel so much better now I don't have that heavy clump of hair weighing me down :)

I started watching your channel after I shaved my head in January of 2021. Your videos helped me cope! Having a shaved head was fun but OMG there were many moments where I regretted it. After a year I’m still in a pretty awkward grow out phase! The whole top section is just so much shorter than the rest. It did make me appreciate my natural brown hair so much more! I’m just happy to have hair at all at this point lol. I would love to see updates on any hair cuts or coloring that you do in the future! I’m invested in your hair journey :)

I shaved my hair about 7 months ago now and i started watching some of your hair updates nearly straight after I shaved it just to give me hopes for what my hair will look like. I totally think shaving my hair was a good idea, I'm so much more confident and appreciate it more. I can definitely say I've gone through moments where I wondered why did it but, its such a great experience so far.

I’m literally impressed on how good you looked on every stage of growing your hair out! The common option would be to even your hair out and have a little chin length bob and of course it would suit you a lot! But honestly, i think you should leave it like that! I had a pixie, and I literally WASTE 1 year with 5 trims trying to even it out to a shoulder length bob, now right that is even, with collarbone length, I want layers again. If I would have let my hair grow like you did, now I’d have it down my middle back with tons of movement ! It’s just an advice hehe :)

Hi! I am Tea. i will be turning 21 in august and right now i really do not know myself at all. this super inspired me to shave my head now! I have been thinking about it for years now at this point and I think it is finally time for that big change. When you said you became more aware of your body that really gave me so much relief because i have been stuck in a loop of hating myself entirely or loving some parts of myself, and i’m so exhausted. I would really love for this to be an eye opening moment for me to find myself finally and to learn to love myself.

Thank you so much for creating this video, my mom recently got diagnosed with cancer and I didnt want her losing her hair alone. For about a week ive been wondering if it would be a good choice or not, wondering if while at school Id get made fun of while the growing back process, but this video was the final answer to my worries. I will 100% be shaving my hair for my mama, so thank you! :)

i really want to shave my head for a long time now because i had a very so self esteem and confidence and i truly believe that i look ugly . so i always wanted to do it to me just to make me really aware that dude now you dont even have hair but nobody cares . so just love yourself . most probably i will shave itoff by the end of january . 🤗🤗

hi Kayla, I don't know if you remember but I left a comment on one of your videos right before I had to go almost bald because I had carcinoma at the time.. your videos helped me thru so much, I was feeling so insecure and I constantly kept telling myself that I look ugly with boy hair but your videos really helped me cope with my condition and to love myself regardless, I am completely healed now, they were able to cure the cancer easily because they found it out at a super early stage, I'm feeling very healthy and happy and am definitely at a much better place mentally. Thank you so much for making these videos, you're literally my reason to love myself! 💕😭

this video gives me hope, and I relate to everything you're saying, especially about learning to love and accept yourself. I also damaged my hair with bleach, and decided to shave my head. I've also noticed the textured hasn't seemed to change, I thought it would feel softer than it does. I'm at 1 month and one week, and it's at the sticking straight up and also falling flat phase. I can't wait to get to the year, or year and a half point. I don't regret doing it because I know it will be worth it, but I am struggling with my self confidence.

Hi ! I shaved my head almost a year ago and it’s slightly shorter than your hair here but it’s giving me so much faith and happiness knowing my hair isn’t too far from being that length !! Woohoo! Shaved my head last year in July. So glad I did it too. I got my coils curls back now. I just wear a wig for protective styling . The mullet stage is brutal lol

I shaved it all off 3 years ago and loved it at that time. never regret it. but now I'm growing it out to mid-length.
I shaved it the same time as you. (Because of damage) Than started growing it out. Than…😔 I found out I have Androgenetic alopecia last month! (Doesn’t even run in our family) I’ve been devastated. I’d rather have a stylist fry it than go through this. So not only was I struggling with the self esteem of trying to grow out a buzz cut now I’m going to lose my hair. So much for growing it out. 😔 I’d rather have it damaged all over again than have this devastating news that I’m just going to lose it now.
Hey, as someone who is suffering from hairloss themselves, It gets better and you will learn to love yourself in other ways. I know how devastating it is though, and I'm so sorry. Don't give up and I hope things can get better.

I shaved my head 3 months ago. My grows really fast but it’s coarse so it’s been sticking straight up for what feels like forever 😭 I’m ready for the awkward stage to be over but I don’t regret shaving my head!
I've had shorter hair since like 2019. Now I'm SO over hair styles and dealing with it. I just wanna shave it. I could get my natural hair color back and I wanna see what I look like with this style. yes, it'll have to grow back, that's all I can do lol. But I think itd be fun!!
it is fun to shave your head and it is not forever it will grow back my first was dads orders but after it was done I loved it my sister was also shaved and she loved it
last year my father forcefully shaved my head as i am a girl i was embarrased buy after shaving i like the experience and this summer again i got bald and my hair length is now 0.5mm and i think now in future i continue shaving my head after graduation i only grow my hair and my age is 15 year old

@@itsmelinaaaxx_498 i did not regret it even a slight because of how much i hated my bleach damaged hair. but i am a little impatient of having to wait it to grow. it’s been a month and it’s growing well. i still can’t tie it yet. i have to wait for i guess another 5 months to be able to tie it up. it’s currently growing upwards though. i am missing my long hair still.
@@itsmelinaaaxx_498 i’m encouraging you to try, because even if your hair’s long, it’s damaged. it can break from the ends. i have experienced it for months and it’s not fun at all. that’s why i decided to shave it. at first you will feel as if the world is closing in on you but after awhile you’ll get used to it. the impatient part is the key lmao. you’ll get annoyed because it’ll take a long time for it to grow, yet it’s worth it. i’d unconsciously play with my hair because of how healthy and soft it is.
@@jiyakhan_000 hello, it has been 4 months and it’s very funny looking. it’s very uneven on the top. my hair is currently soft and silky. i have a wavy hair and it’s curling on the top. my hair is not frizzy, yet, because it is still short. i’ll keep you updated in 5 months or so. it’ll take awhile and i’m trusting the process
@@jiyakhan_000 if you have naturally straight hair, it will be straight. since i have naturally wavy hair, it’s growing wavy. so when it has been 5 months and above, put on serum if you want your natural hair to be silky and not frizzy. do not put on the roots, just the hair ends. good luck!
i have watched this video like 4 times now cuz ive been wanting to shave my head for so long 😂 it was just never the right time, but then back in august of 2022 i got a huge urge to do it then and there, but decided to wait til my bday in april cuz i didnt want to be impulsive (and i didnt want a freezing head in the winter). now its february 2023 and i decided to shave it 2 months early and i love it!! im gonna play with short, boyish hairstyles until april, then i think i might go bald lmao. it’ll grow back to the length it is right now in like a week, and i think it would be really fun to see myself bald. highly recommend shaving your head if you contemplate it a lot. i love it and im super excited for the grow out.
ps: your hair is that weird frizzy/fluffy texture because its wavy, if you start following curly hair routines itll look super cool and curly- but it also looks great now too, a routine would just help with the texture. my hair was the same way
Bro fr i started dying my hair at 10 at shaved my head at about 15 im 10 months in and I LOOOOVVVE my natural hair color so so so so MUCH!!!!
Don’t do it guys- it’s such a long process to go from bald to long hair again. Unless your hair is fried and I mean really fried from bleach please do not do this. I would recommend getting a short bob and cut all the damage off if you can vs shaving off all your hair. The pain of waiting for it to grow out is not worth it. Trust me! I cut mine almost two years ago this spring and I wish I would have had someone warn me against doing it.

I shaved my hair in January 2021. I mostly agree with you! I think a pixie or a short bob would be better than going bald because the awkward phases and waiting for the growth is hard.
@@mybubbles5552 yes! Especially if you’re not a patient person! My hair was falling out because of a bleach fail. I had no other choice- but if your hair is damaged and you can manage to cut it into a shorter haircut vs shaving it completely off- I def recommend that instead. Whatever y’all choose I wish you the best of luck with the process !

I’m also NEED your opinion!! honestly I admire all the girls that shaved their long hair on 2020, because they took advantage of the pandemic situation and honestly it was the best fuckin time to do it!! right now all of them have at least a chin length bob again and if they didn’t like the headshave they would just say home. Now I regret that I didn’t do it at that time because you literally almost have the same length as I have, and I DIDN’T shave mine 😭😭 do you think I could do it right now? I was sick of my hair and needed something new and like u I was thinking about it for a while, I dont regret doing it but now 3 months in always wearing hats its been tough, I ordered a beanie after have a baseball cap for months and excited but nervous about my new venture! 🖤 im so eager to have along hair again :'c

My hair texture is weird, as a kid I had straight hair but now it is mixed. The back of my hair is curly, in the front it's straight and wavy and I have lots fly aways. I wonder how my hair will turn out if I shave it..

I make a lot of bad decisions with my hair lol. After a full year of growing it from a bob to my shoulder blades in my natural color, I decided to cut it back to a bob and bleach it.. well then that grew out and I decided to cut it myself and it was super uneven. But I tried to manage it and I dyed it black. It turned a muddy color so that’s when I decided to shave it.
After I shaved it and it grew out to about mid-neck length, I started really dying it. I dyed it blue, then auburn, then burgundy, then purple, and then I dyed it black. I cut it back to a bob but this time with bangs.. the lady messed that up bad. I tried putting half purple and half black over the faded black and it looks bad.
Now I’m contemplating getting a super short pixie cut almost a buzz cut and literally not touching my hair ever again after that lol

So I literally chopped my hair off Sept 24, 2023.. so it's just at the 4 month mark. I have baby bangs and I wear glasses so the sides are really weird. But since the 2 month mark, I've felt like I'm having an identity crisis. Like, I don't feel like a girl most of the time and I hate it. If it’s something that you want to do and would make you happy, you can consider it! After all it’s your life and your hair. I just wouldn’t want you to be put in a bad spot with your family💜

I want to shave my head becaude my hair has just become so thin and brittle because of all the hair growth trends that I've tried. Like you said, mine is very crispy. However, my hair is pretty long and it's my shield of confidence, but now that it's so thin it's becoming more of an insecurity of mine. I dont know what to do. I also go to a baptist church and i feel like I would be judged, I've thought about going to a non-denominational because I've heard that those churches are more accepting of different people.

I don’t know how you did it, I’ve ballsed my hair up and need to grow it all out, luckily it’s not too damaged so it’s not uncomfortable just blue and I can’t dye over it. I thought about shaving it but I could not deal with the short hair phase looks so uncomfortable and akward I’m going for the keep it braided up approach it’s been 6 months and I feel like it’s taking forever, your video is giving me hope only another year to get to your stage.
My hair is falling out because I'm in the process of recovering from an eating disorder. It just keeps falling out and I just want to get rid of my hair because of it. I'm just scared I'm going to become unattractive. But what's the point of keeping my hair if it just keeps falling out?

I shaved my head september last year because I had been thinking about it for a while
I already had a pretty short haircut with some bangs but the thought of not having to deal with styling it for a few months was so appealing
my scalp also really hurt on top of my head and I was looking forward to the idea of being able to touch my head without it frizzing like crazy
after I shaved it I realized I genuinely like it so much better just being out of my way lol one less thing to worry about in my day

I had curly hair nature ,after 2 months was cool and stylish,but after 3 months it start to be very very annoying looking so bad ,now have been 5 and half months my hair is still so short and curly looking so bad bc it is curly but sooo short ,when i have long hair ppl loved my curls was soo good

The texture in certain parts of my hair is pretty frizzy/ coarse while the rest is really soft and straight. The frizzy sections felt drier and worse before I shaved my head, but I still feel those sections… they’re just not quite as bad? That probably didn’t help explain anything lmao

i shaved my hair almost the same time as u did and i didnt shave it as much as u did but really close and now my hair is like 1:45 so ig my hair grows slow
