My sister bought me one. I love it & it is definitely worth $500. Especially bc I had a c section & I couldn’t imagine carrying a heavy car seat. It’s so convenient. Everybody talks about my baby growing out of it in a year but in a year I would’ve probably bought a new car seat anyway. Plus he’ll be big enough to sit up by himself when he does outgrow the stroller he can get one of those $30 strollers. So to me, definitely worth it
All I kept saying to my wife was “wow mi amor she’s strong!” Keep up the great work with your channel! Looks like you have everything you need for a very successful one! Personality and creativity + the technical side also. Love it!
Chuchu who needs a gym when you have a baby right?!? 😆 thanks so much for the feedback! We sure appreciate it. We’re so excited about this channel and what’s to come. 😃
Thank you so much you basically answer all the questions I had. I'm only 3 months but my husband told me about buying this and I was skeptical. I have two girls 7 and 4 and IM SOLD! I love the idea of not having to open my trunk to get the heavy stroller, just using trunk space.
Thanks for demonstrating how it works! If I had realized sooner that we would be traveling around the world with our one-year-old I would have gotten the Doona car seat / stroller. It looks like the perfect solution for using in taxis and at the airport!
It’s £279 in the UK without accessories. I thought it was expensive here until I saw the price in this video. As a mum of five soon to be six this definitely what I need for school run and ease of shopping.
Yes I’m sure the prices vary in different countries. It can be so frustrating sometimes LOL. This seat however has really made life easier for us! Hopefully you can get your hands on one! Thanks for the comment!
I’d say if you have natural delivery with a husband always available to help lift this thing it would be manageable. I’m going to have a cesarean and am terrified of busting open my wound. I had a hard time figuring out how to close down and open up the Doona. It’s also very low, I’m 5’6”.I mostly love the way the handle bar hits the backseat. I fortunately found a stroller in a store that was able to move the handle into that position so return is pending
There's no way that you bought an actual Doona for $70, especially if it is brand new. You have likely been scammed by the many knockoff sites that are there. Sorry. You really need to contact Doona ( simpleparenting.co ) to verify that you have a real Doona. If you have a knockoff it needs to be disposed of as it is not crash tested nor meets any safety regulations.
i bought this for my 2nd baby and now im about to have my 3rd so i kept it..i would say its nkt worth it if you only plan to use it for 1 chikd onky because it dorsnt lsst long and you wikl need to buy another stroller once your baby turns 1 or sooner depending on your babys size and weight. its also very heavy once your baby grows a few months its a struggle. it does look cool though and get loads of compliments..but if i would never pay full price
Hi, just wanted to ask as the baby gets older how is there still enough space for them inside whilst strapped. My baby is due in December and im just wondering if the baby was wearing a pramsuit/snowsuit due to cold weather when its say 6 months or 9months would it be a tight fit to strap them into the car seat? I know this is late but i hope it makes sense
Great question, we never had a problem because the straps are easily adjustable. After you buckle them you can tighten the straps to the desired “snugness” lol and the straps can be adjusted over the shoulders as the baby grows.
@@thebongers thank you for your reply! What about the actual sides of the doona, if baby is wearing a pram suit, does it restrict thier arms or be to tight towards the sides? I appreciate you taking the time to respond!. X
I know this was a year ago but want to comment for anyone else who might read this. Never ever ever ever ever put a baby or child of any age inside a car seat with a snowsuit or winter coat. Nothing more than a light jacket. Cover them with blankets or the jacket outside the straps. It’s extremely dangerous to strap a kid in with a coat on
@@cratcliff8820 yes you're completely correct. I also definitely did some more research before my little one was born/before placing him in the carseat. Much safer and comfier for the child to not put any thick heavy coats/pramsuit on them!. I did end up getting the doona which is I highly recommend btw.
Sorry for the late reply. This got flagged as spam. We use our own Diaper Bag. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075R1RXP1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
asking because sometimes i have to make store errands by myself and i also have a 2 year old so that would be not possible to push store cart and doona with baby by myself.
We have placed it into the main basket before but it does not fit in the upper basket. My husband will push the stroller and pull the cart but that’s a bit much for me. I will say though Walmart pickup has been a life saver!! LOL
@Ebonie Bogan I would like to address the 1 handed use of the Doona. I too am a 1 handed parent. In addition to that I am also a Child Passenger Safety Technician. I wouldn't automatically say that a 1 handed parent cannot use the Doona or use it safely. It really depends on what their limits themselves are. For instance, I cannot make a fist with my left hand, which means no gripping capabilities. I cannot raise my left arm higher than belly button level. I have extremely limited strength in my left arm & I have limited strength in my right arm from a lifetime of overuse. That said, I am fully capable of folding & unfolding the stroller & am able to release it from the installed base. The biggest issue for me is just the overall weight of seat & child combined that would keep me from being able to lift it but I also have that issue with basic rear facing only child restraints. Bottom line, parents with special needs need to always go out and test seats for themselves. We cannot rely on the advice/opinions of those without special needs as they do not live our daily lives. Only we know what we can or cannot do.
My baby is turning 4 months in a couple of days (he is a big baby, he looks like a 6 month old) if I’m spending 500 dlls in a stroller I want to use it for at least 6 months... do you think I’m still on time?? Because I really need it, my back and arms needs it!!!!!!!
I personally would say yes it’s worth it and would think you should get at least 6 months, but of course you’ve gotta make that decision, but your back will thank you! LOL
Love the video. How old / pounds was your baby when you last used it? I saw another mom think it’ll be 1 year and he was actually 2 years old. Makes me want it even more. Sorry I missed the giveaway:(
The Bongers wonderful!!! I’ll go with it and not worry about a thing for the first year at least! Wonderful video by the way, I love how you clearly presented all your point!
The Bongers sorry one more question to you, do I need to use the latch base when taking the newborn out of the hospital? I know a lot of moms using this without the latch base when going on Uber rides. Thank you so much again!
Sunday3pm I don’t don’t think the base would be a requirement. Some car seats available today don’t have them. More importantly I would practice putting it in without the base. This way when the hospital accompanies you for the first time you confident on how to latch it securely and show that it’s safely done. Place the car seat in rear facing position. Using standard vehicle shoulder belt stretch the lap part of belt over the main part of the seat and child. You’ll see slots on top for running the belt. Next run the shoulder part of belt around the back side of the doona and hook in the blue slot. Then buckle the seatbelt into the vehicle buckle. This should work for you. There are also instructions in the manual that come with it. Make sure you check them as the first time is a little confusing. Hope this helps!
The Bongers got you this is super helpful. Now I feel I can confidently go with a second hand Doona without a latch base which saves me at least $200 - I live in New York City, I really don’t think people go around carrying the latch base anyway! You helped me huge here, and I cannot thank you more for this video and the information you provided me with!!
Veronica Alba I would say yes! Our son is 6mo now and still a good amount of space . Even if it doesn’t fit much after a year it’s still well worth it for another 8 months!

Besides that I never carry it in car seat mode. And my oldest son loves to push her Basically any chance he gets to. so that frees up both my hands to hold on to my middle child and still do something with my other hand. I know it’s been a few years but is this accessible with store carts? Like able to be latched or placed in? What methods helped you while shopping?
It will fit in some baskets but will take up a majority of it. Shopping alone with it isn’t easy unfortunately
