Your step dad saved you both. I don't think you realize what a blessing in disguise this was. Thank God for him and just love each other.
A friend of mine told me that years ago she worked at the US Open at a children's apparel booth and Dr. Phil appears there to shop. He was drunk as hell, very rude, so demanding and so unpleasant to my friend and her co-workers. Every since she shared that story I really have zero respect for that phony.
Remember when he apparently held his whole staff "hostage" and told them they couldn't leave until the person who leaked some story admitted it

I think your stepdad, just went with his gut, and decided that it wasn’t right, what they were asking everyone to do , so as someone older and wiser , I believe he did what was best for all.
I believe that all of this was a blessing in disguise. I’m sorry for all the frustrations that you encountered but I’m glad that you’re both okay now that you have some distance. Continue to love and support each other throughout the good/bad times.

Sounds like dad didn't want to start/stage/resurrect any drama. He's a wise man. One thing that I've noticed from happy couples that go on "reality shows" is that after the show the relationship seems to deteriorate. I can't tell you how many times I yelled at the tv when I see a nice couple on a dumb talk/reality show. You don't need them especially if you being a happy couple isn't enough of a story so they need to dredge up drama. Stay far away from that. Wisdom comes with age and your dad made the right decision.
I see healthy communication and pure love and connection through you guys
Guys, Iyah stepfather is a wise guy, thank him . It's not healthy to go on national TV with your private life. You will appreciate it later in life.
Dr Phil isn't licensed to practice in his home state, what he is doing is against the therapist ethics. It's just a show, Hollywood came with the idea of real life shows during one of movie industry strikes (either 200, or 2008). Industry moguls decided it will cost less to do real life shows, with no professional actors, and minimal input from screenwriters.
Dr Phil would benefit from your show much more that you would.

Thank the Lord...that He closed the door on the Dr. Phil mess and all those shows that seek to bring in negativity. Life is not a bed of roses, but these shows like Jerry Springer and others depict human behavior that is horrible. People need to see hope, positivity, love, etc.
It sounds like your step-dads decision saved you guys from getting caught up in staged drama was isn't even there in real life. Never allow yourselves to be the pawn in someone else's chess game. Never.

To be honest I think your stepdad made the right choice cause once they start filming you guys would have came across like the most messed up couple. They would have dragged your age difference and anything they could have just for ratings. You guys deserve better❤️you guys God blessings always

I think they would have come across as very likable and it's not like he's an old man with a scruffy beard and a slob. He looks early 30s, very good looking. People would have been like how do I get one? Plus the channel would have blowed up with more subscribers. But I think it was meant to be for some unknown reason they may one day find out or already know what they learned from it.
There is another couple on youtube that was going to be on the Dr.Phil show. The husband is disabled and the wife is not. They have a great relationship and were asked to be on the show and thought it was a great idea until they started doing the questions. And all the questions were about how if her life is worst being with a disabled person. They backed out and when they watched the show later on they were SO GLAD they did not go because the whole narrative was to paint how much issues come with inter-abled relationships. The narrative of the show was about the issues and the youtube couple felt like that's not even their experience being in a relationship. They are happy they did not do it. Just food for thought.
There was actually a couple that went there, an interabled couple and Dr Phil painted a picture that all interabled couples never work because the able bodied is always the caregiver of the disabled partner. In response to that, they made a beautiful video of all the interabled couples showing that relationships like that do actually work. I don't understand why Dr Phil is so set on spreading so much negativity when there's so much love to give.

And exactly, that is what the couple said - that they dont agree that the wife's life is hard because of the caretaking. They explain this all in detail. The ones im talking about are "Squirmy and Grubs" on youtube. Thanks for sharing that.

@@rongomes308 Dr Phil's staff troll Utube for potential guests. One Utuber recently spoke of being contacted by the show. She and her husband discussed it and decided, based on previous shows, that nothing good would come of it. Very wise decision.

I like y'all, but if this was the "worst couple days of your lives." And a nightmare trip from hell.
Well then you have ALOT to be thankful for, I can't imagine being that upset over a free trip. You still got to travel and see new things and meet new people. It makes you look really bad to have that type of an outlook on the situation. So many people are struggling right now and there is true suffering.
There are also so many people who have dreams of getting to fly on an airplane someday, who never will. Whether it is due to poverty, work, kids, etc. I've met tons of people whom have never been on an airplane or have never even traveled outside of their state (US)
Just food for thought, Gratitude is super important. Try and look at things from a different angle from now on. You'll be happier for it.

I've seen a bit of this big, bad-ass world and you guys are so capable of dealing with whatever the world throws at you ... it's like water running off your backs, and you're over it in no time. When I watch you guys I can feel the love comin' off'n the screen. Just keep on lovin' each other ciz that's all that matters.

@@hummingnectarbird It's not the voice. There's a difference in the way a 30 y/o speaks vs. a 22 y/o. I know because when I was in my 30's young guys would try to date me and lie about their age but they way they spoke what they talked about and how they spoke always gave their age away. There's no harm to point that out. It's the natural progression of things. As she ages she'll mature. It's inevitable.

Wow, glad you made it back and are safe. I used to travel for my job for 8 years, often left on Sundays and home on Friday. Many nights overnight in airports b/c of "no captain, no crew, plane had to be fixed or flown in from another city." Now when I hear people say "I'm going to TRAVEL when I retire!" , I don't even say a word, lol. Hotels and airplanes are full of bed bugs, mersa and horrible germs. My coworkers' son got a bacteria from the airplane that blinded him in one eye. One lady's hotel room's jacuzzi had flesh-eating bacteria. Travel is not the picnic anyone thinks it is. Your story was very informative!

No matter what, ALWAYS TELL EACH OTHER EVERYTHING. I don't mean that you shouldn't have individual feelings that we all have. I talking about the stuff that matters. That communication and honesty won't stop every argument. But it gives you the ability to brush off those things that people will try to put in your head. Everyone will have an opinion about something and they will express that opinion to you with the EXPRESS PURPOSE of causing you emotional pain. But if you keep things tight between you. You'll be able to look that person/those people in the face WITH CONFIDENCE and say "No, he or she would never think that way or do that".
Be patient 🙏 with each other.
I've said those things to you both for an important reason. Accept one another fully. And don't allow jealousy to EVER COME BETWEEN YOU. I'm not saying that you won't have individual selfish moments. We ALL have those. But you will give eachother that moment/space to work through those emotional moments. When you emerge, your partner will be standing there with their arms open wide to recieve you. I can see a love between you that is strong. You've found each other in past lives. A true love ❤ story.

I am a recent subscriber and I'm glad you guys didn't do the show, not worth it. Watched Dr. Phil once. Not worth adding unnecessary "drama" to help his show ( or any for that matter) with ratings. I came to understand what the Dr.Phil show is about when I first watched it. I stopped watching it years ago. I’m glad that you were not featured on the show. We want you to have a healthy and successful marriage. Not sensationalized and exploited. That’s not the way to start. I pray that your extended family issues heal in time. Wow!! How exhausting!!!! Traveling is a pain as it is now with Covid and to go all the way to LA for no reason and have to return the next day...wow!!! Sorry about that bad experience but glad you guys made it back to Poland safely... Maybe it was a blessing in disguise!

Did you at least see the sights in LA? I was going to be in the studio audience at a Rachel Ray show👏 with a group of friends. I was ready to go and then my husband changed his mind about watching the kids. Last minute. Well, it was a Christmas episode and they received lots of expensive gifts. All this to say that you will never forget a bad experience. But you will forgive.
Idk if I’d divorce him ASAP but, he’d certainly be in the doghouse for a long ass time! This wasn’t a babysitter or grandparent backing out but….. your HUSBAND! Girl, I’d be 🤬too!! Not only because of missing the live show and the expensive gifts but, because my husband had the nerve to act like only I have to take care of the kids, while what? He has plenty of alone time and experiences?! 🤨 Mind you, I’m not married but, I’ve already played out this entire argument in my head! 😂

It wasn't free. Dr. Phil makes about 50 million per year from his show. A free flight, hotel and meals is a drop in the bucket. 🙄
