Wow, quite an achievement to be able to translate this song and fit the lyrics.
It was sometimes a bit hard to make out what you sang, but it sure sounds beautiful!
Esta es una de las canciones de Mecano que más le costó cantar a Ana Torroja... me refiero: A ella le costó mucho trabajo cantarla en francés... según el libro "Mecano (el libro)." publicado por Editorial Luca en 1991, Ana dice que ella estuve como 1 mes grabando la canción una y otra y otra y otra vez en francés y que de vez en cuando, iban unas comitivas de franceses al Estudio de Grabación para escuchar el tema, para ver qué cosas entendían ellos y qué cosas no... Y ella dice que eso fue un proceso horrible, porque lo que no entendían unos, sí lo entendían otros y en ese proceso de grabar y re-grabar de nuevo ella se la pasó un mes y algo más. Al final (casi ella cansada) les dijo: "Pero dejen la canción así, total, hay veces que en español no se entiende a la primera." y dejaron la canción así, tal cual como aparece en el álbum "Aidalai" (edición para Francia)... Hay que decir además, que la versión en francés de HIJO DE LA LUNA, no es una adaptación, sino que es una traducción literal que se hace del español al francés, según palabras de la misma Ana Torroja en el comentario de letra manuscrita que ella misma escribió en la página 103 del libro... Ella comenta que como es una traducción tal cual, a los franceses se les hacía raro lo que la canción narraba pues es una forma de leguaje a que ellos usualmente no están acostumbrados.

A los franceses se les parecia rara al escucharla porque en la traduccion algunos verbos se usan en unas formas de preterito que son muy poco usadas hoy en día. Pero la traduccion es muy buena, y muy fiel al texto original.
@Chane Garcia Gracias por la informacion. Soy francesa y me preguntaba como lo habia logrado ella, ya que aparenta una traduccion perfecta del espanol, tal como aqui en ingles. Yo me preguntaba si la cantadora de Mecano la habia cantado en ingles tambien. Ella la canta en italiano tambien. Su accento frances esta bastante bien, como su italiano. Pero lo que no me gusta de esta chava es que copio' mucho a Jeanne Mas, una cantante francesa de Espana, que vivio muchos anos en Italia! Le copio su estilo de cantar, de vestirse, de moverse, de mirar a la pantalla, su corte de pelo, en efecto: TODO!
Por eso, Mecano no fue popular en Francia, porque a nosotros, los franceses, ODIAMOS a los copiadores. Creo que paso una vez por TV francesa y por eso nos burlamos de ella. Aqui, en USA, la gente no es leal, les gustan los imitadores y los plagiaristas y eso me da asco a mi, en tanto como Francesa, que a nostros nos gusta la verdad, y la creatividad original. No los imitadores. Si le hubiera dado credito a Jeanne, lo hubiera podido hacer en tanto como "inspirada por Jeanne Mas". Pero como no lo hizo, paso' como mentirosa y nos burlamos de ella hasta la frontera espanola! Supongo eso no lo dira el libro ese, eh?! ;-)
@Elena Drimboi: le prétérit n'existe pas en français, madame: nous avons des temps pour exprimer le passé bien compliqués! XD Subjonctif, passé composé, passé simple, imparfait, presque-parfait, etc. etc.

@@irened. Lo cierto es que no sé si le copió o no la forma de vestir a Jeanne Mas, artista coetánea, ya que ese estilo es muy de la época de la "movida". Y el pelo corto, invención de Jeanne Mas, le marco tanto que así lo sigue llevando en la actualidad.
En cuanto a que los franceses se burlaban de ellos... en fin, no hay más que ver que fueron número 1 allí, bonita forma de burlarse ;-)

La versión en inglés de HAWAII-BOMBAY no es que esté mal... Porque por el solo hecho de que la cante Ana Torroja, ya solo eso la convierte en una joya; pero lo único malo que yo le veo a esa versión son los trozos o segmentos que están cantados por voces masculinas. ¡Ehhhh!, y como dije anteriormente: se trata de una adaptación de la letra, pues HAWAII-BOMBAY cantada en inglés, nada tiene que ver con HAWAII-BOMBAY cantada en español, las dos canciones transmiten o nos cuentan dos historias diferentes. En una entrevista que radial que le hace a Ana Torroja (recién lanzado el álbum "Ana-José-Nacho") ella hace el comentario de que entre algunas de las canciones que se habían grabado en francés para "Ana-José-Nacho" (edición Francia) estaba HAWAII-BOMBAY, pero si al final esa canción no fue incluida en ese álbum es porque a ellos no les convenció el cómo se oía la canción y por eso quedó descartada... Lo mismo que con la versión cantada en italiano de ME CUESTA TANTO OLVIDARTE (Mi costa tanto scordarti) que no fue incluida en el álbum "Figlio della luna." (1989) a pesar de que la canción está muy muy bien cantada por Ana Torroja... tú la oyes y se te erizan todos los pelos del cuerpo.

Esta lírica que tú estás cantando en esta canción, ¿Es una traducción literal basada en la versión en español cantada por Mecano o es una adaptación?, como tú muy bien sabes, cuando una canción es adaptaba a otro idioma (de inglés a español o viceversa) la nueva letra (letra adaptaba) no necesariamente dice exactamente lo mismo que la letra cantada en español, en muchos casos, la canción ya adaptaba tiene un mensaje totalmente opuesto a la versión original... En este caso tú estás cantando, ¿Es literal o es adaptada?.
