@@NascarNixon that’s not what the rule means. the 110% rule explains that you need to try a full capability all race. Chastain did that. Nice try though😉
Anyone that has played those driving games, especially the sit down arcade Daytona version, knows that move. You can only use it a few times because of the damage it does to the car. ross chastain just broke a record for the fastest lap in this track in the cup series history, I thought all records were impossible, but I guess there's a few that can be broke.
Honored to say i witnessed one of the greatest passes in NASCAR live. Absolutely phenomenal.
This man is on history books.... I never thought that was possible... Just can't believe my eyes!
My respect y thankfulness from Buenos Aires Argentina...
THANK YOU!!! You are now Whit Fangio and Ayrton to me now!!!
You got some huge balls!
Congratulations CHAMPION!!!
I was SCREAMING when I saw this. Complete confusion when I saw Ross made it until they showed the replay. What a legend
It think this’ll be the most replayed clip in NASCAR history.
One of the craziest things I ever seen in Nascar I couldn't believe how fast he was going. That's literally a move I would do on Nascar at Martinsville
How fast do you think he was going? 140-150? He said he put it in 5th gear. Insane and incredible......
It's one of the craziest things in racing not just NASCAR
Been watching Nascar since the Wide World of Sports days in the early 60s and that was one of the most Insanely Amazing moves I have ever seen... well done Melon Man. Best move I've seen all year. And Hamlins gonna have nightmares forever with this one.
I guess u missed a race lol (I have not since 1985) Carl Edward's did it 1st lol 10 yrs ago....didn't work as great for him but did same exact thing. even got out of car and said in interview was his only shot and he'd done it in video games b4 lol...that was 10 yrs ago. hasn't been done since. good to see it again especially for watermelon farmer. it's awesome
Agreed! Thanks for bringing me back to Wide World of Sports . I watched back then too with my Dad. Loved it. Jim McCay and Chris Econamacky (spelling ?? Sorry Chris) were the best. I can still hear their voices passionately bringing all types of sports to my livingroom.
@@michaelcollins1899 Edwards didn't ride the wall the way Ross did. Carl did a massive dive bomb in the final turn hoping it would stick just enough to win. Unfortunately for Carl, it didn't.
It has been done since, Larson did it at Darlington. It didn’t work then either, and yes, people thought it was pretty awesome.
Right up there with the ski jump fail!
I'm now officially a Ross Chastain fan. Seen a lot of racing in my time but this is the most amazing move ever. To realize at that point, this could be an option is one thing but actually pulling it of... Wow. So cool, that guy is certainly fired up!
That shit was insane
It was really one of those moments where drivers say "There is nothing to lose but everything to gain" and does an insane maneuver.
Really set the record, saved his career, insane
Props to him
That shit was 10/10
As the commentator said, How bad do you want it?
That's how bad he wants it
Fuckin insane I'm speechless
Man made me remember the racing back in Nascar '09, that was amazing, kudos to him for doing that and showing you gotta do what you can, WITHOUT SPINNING/WRECKING SOMEONE, to get it done.
Dude is a certified legend now. That was AWESOME.
A lot of the "legendary" nascar drivers over the years have gotten their reputation through some shady racing, but this was clean and nobody can deny it. Absolutely insane that he made it stick lol. One of the greatest moments in motorsport in 2022.
If NASCAR plays this right they could have their generational moment that will bring in legions of new fans
This is going to be one of the best moves in all of motorsport categories ever made.
Hamlin knew he had it in the bag….not so fast Denny. Chastain and his legendary Check Mate Move took Dennys lunch money right outta his pocket. Thanks Ross Chastain for giving us all a moment we’ve never seen before. Frickin Awesome!!
My dad's been watching NASCAR for close to 40 years now, and he called this the greatest move in NASCAR history. And I'm inclined to agree.
Ross Chastain is a different beast.
Chastain leaves racing fans speechless and cheering their hearts out at the same time. What a Move!! Congrats Ross you deserve this Championship, go get it 🏁
That's the move of a driver hungry for victory!! All or nothing, what a ride 😲💪
Imagine coming in first and no one cared. But the guy who takes the last spot for the championship gets all the excitement
I was outta my chair cheering like crazy on that move...Awesome!!
I was ready for a nap, then saw the badass move - jumped/cheered so loud the neighbors heard me 😂
No joke. I was laying on the couch and jumped off cheering. My family couldn't figure out why I was going nuts!!! AWESOME! 🍉🏁
I was so pissed Hamlin was moving on over Chastain and all of the sudden I jumped up screaming what a move!!!
In real time, I saw him bear Hamlin to the line. Thought..wtf, that's impossible, he was 5 spots back. Then went nuts for the replay.
A legendary move that I've never seen before! If he then wins the championship they need to make a movie out of it. I can't even believe what I just saw.
...somebody call Clint Eastwood.
If he wins the championship then he needs to get penalized this is not how you win a championship typical NASCAR playoff BS anybody can win just by putting on a big move
@@kubeanie18 wrong.. this is how champions are made, he used his car to the last extent. he ran out of options so he grabbed 5th and went for it
@@kubeanie18 I don't see how you could ever complain about this. you just witnessed one of the greatest moments of nascar
@@kubeanie18 👈🏼🤡 New to NASCAR? Idiot…
I am extremely fortunate to have watched this live. As I believe that nothing like this will ever happen again. This IS the single greatest move in Motorsport history and we will be watching this for centuries to come.
NASCAR*, not motorsports
As someone that utterly hates Nascar, I gotta admit you're right. This is the most insane move I have ever seen in motorsport so far.
@@jpesicka492 name something crazier than sending your car purposely into a wall at 200mph in motorsports
@@fsub9834 it was not even near 200 mph...
now, this, is podracing...
I don't even watch Nascar, but I easily would vote in this to be the image of the year in motorsport. What a move!
"One of the most electrifying moves in nascar history"
And ya can't change my mind about it
“How bad do you want it?”
This is why I love Chastain🤝
I have watched this replay 20 times and I just giggle every time. Legendary.
That was a "Hail Mary" gamble and it worked! I love the announcers saying as they showed it again that this was not sped up video. You are watching this in REAL TIME!. At the end even Denny Hamlin could not be mad at him for beating him. I think he was as shocked as every other person there and watching were when Ross pull off that move. Ross Chastain earned his slot in the final with an "All or Nothing" move.
He had it hidden and flew under the radar with it until he knew it was time, brilliant on another level 💯🔥
Best thing that's happened to Nascar in decades. This will be on highlights for years to come. Brilliant!
They will play that one for years to come. Not a Ross fan, but he sure as hell sent that. Awesome.
This was absolutely amazing!! That is the definition of will to win, determination, never give up! Historic move that will NEVER be forgotten, absolutely crazy. Ross the Boss!
On freaking believable I cannot believe what I just saw that is the craziest move I've seen in all my 45 years are watching NASCAR unbelievable good job Mr Ross I Am team Joey so I'll see you guys Sunday at the Phoenix Championship race good luck y'all
We all witnessed something so special that ppl can’t even fathom right now but will 10yrs from now…. We are all going to look back and say he really did that and actually realized what he did…. Legend mr. Ross
I don't know anything about NASCAR, but even I know that this was badass. A first in history. Absolute legend.
Carl Edwards would be proud of that move 😭 they better not penalize him for doing that either. they let drivers purposefully wreck each other for wins, so this shouldn’t be an issue considering he didn’t wreck anyone
I am surprised they didn’t throw a caution flag, cause he was in the wall.
But he wasn’t stopped on the racing surface and it was coming to the checkered flag, no need to throw a caution.
They'll probably make a rule change so noone can do it again.
By far the most freaking EPIC, GENIUS, SMOOTH move probably ever witnessed or pulled off in NASCAR!!
He's earned everyone's respect on that
This will be making nascar best moment reels for generations to come.
Must be the 400th time I watched this. It will never get old,!
i've been watchin racing for over 65 years, since i started going to the local dirt track with my dad...that is the absolute most brilliant thing i have ever seen done on a flat track, and the timing was incredible, if he'd waited even another 5 seconds to start that move he would have been too late... if there was ever such a thing as a "junior johnson 'balls to the wall' award" given to a nascar driver , chastain's name'd be engraved on it in big bold typeset.... absolutely awesome.... wow !... and.... i also admit i share the same sentiment i see others on here have expressed..... the fact it took whiney ass hamlin and the entire crybaby gibbs organization out of any shot at the championship when with less than 2 seconds left they were all comfortably feeling they were in......is a massive bonus
Fun fact: People do it all the time on racing video games. This is the first time someone has done it in real life.
Ross Chastain basically pulled out a bullet bill at the last second with that move to pass by Denny Hamlin!
Just happy that I got to see an instant classic moment live, I’m on team Chastain for life after that
That is "Raise Hell Praise Dale" in it's purest form.
My heart was going faster than Chastain on that lap!
I went crazy watching Bell take the lead from Briscoe and win, but then seeing Ross go full into the turn made my house go crazy. Historic moment.
Ross straight up full send Lightning McQueened it.
Respect.
The fact that he was able to come out of the wall and not spin out is epic! Unbelievable!
Can you imagine what DW’s reaction would’ve been if he was still commentating
Nascar will be adding the "Ross Chastain" rule on Monday lmao
Yea lmao
The rule already exists. No attempted was made to make the turn. 110% rule Custer got hit with
@@NascarNixon that’s not what the rule means. the 110% rule explains that you need to try a full capability all race. Chastain did that. Nice try though😉
Using the wall to turn isn't driving
@@NascarNixon still madprops for making it work
That's the coolest highlight in Nascar history.
BEST MOVE OF THE DANG SEASON, IM SPEECHLESS
Anyone that has played those driving games, especially the sit down arcade Daytona version, knows that move. You can only use it a few times because of the damage it does to the car. Takes lots of practice to get the speed right. Too fast, you bounce off the wall, too slow, the wall just drags you even slower. It's fun to do especially with rumble seat and controls at the arcade.
Bro. Took gaming to a whole new level bro is the definition of a Giga Chad doing insanely stupid moves that always turn out for the absolute best outcome. I low-key actually want to try this, but because it's illegal now I can't. So I can either say thank you very much for inventing that move. And thank you very much for killing that move
Best move I've ever seen in 41 years of watching this sport.
Some of the best driving I ever seen, well done!
No soy fan del Nascar, pero esto es otro nivel de conducción. 👏
You should be a NASCAR fan too
I recently joined NASCAR as a Filipino years ago
@@Waddle_Dee_With_Internet What made you decide to join as a Filipino? I havent tried that yet.
Looking back on this over a year later, one of the greatest moves in racing history that sent hundreds of thousands of gamers into a frenzy seeing their last stitch effort actually be put to use and work in real life. Ross set a track record and sent it straight into the championship and won all of our hearts in the process. He may have a shaky record with being able to hold positions but ever since trackhouse it seems he’s really getting into his groove and I’m exited to see what 2024 holds
the best thing i have ever seen in my life
ok, except for barbara palvin
The Chastain Wall Slide! The greatest moves and passes in history.
That was a Days of Thunder Cole Trickle last lap move!
I could hear Harry Hog saying " if you go to the outside, you can hold it!
This one's for you harry!
🤣
Absolutely fantastic Ross Chastain's movement, that's why I like Nascar, when everything was lost Ross pulls a rabbit out of his hat. Chastain has one more admirer here. Greetings from Portugal
Dude pulled a literal gamer move. Kudos.
