Thanks Joseph you have pretty much summed up why I still. Have the edition as the sportline is inferior for options .have nearly brought a sportline twice but can’t find a compromise on toys vrs price vrs quality.
It's got to be the SE-L for me. The owner of this Sportline was looking for another one to replace the SE-L which unfortunately got written off, but he could only find Sportlines... Thank you again for allowing me to drive yours in 2020, sir!
Excellent review, MR. Lloyd, very capable car and looks rather sharp with great equipment levels. Speaking of Škodas, a friend of mine picked up a facelift 2010 Škoda Octavia 1.8 TSI DSG hatchback with full L&K trim even with the optional rear heated seats! It's absolutely immaculate throughout. It has black leather with the Alcantara centres sections and is finished in a rich burgundy metallic paint. Such a smart, luxurious car indeed.
This Sportline looks great in phoenix orange. I would prefer the factory wheels though if it were mine, as the presenter mentioned, those fitted look small for the size of the vehicle. The sport line theme continues with the interior, which looks very premium, I like the bucket seats, and virtual cockpit very much!.
I would prefer an SE-L over one of these for certain, and 19" wheels would not be my preference, as the ride would be a bit too firm for me, but in the Sportline trim, this colour has a certain appeal, and makes the car stand out. I would prefer green, myself, but that seems to be a rare colour these days.
Oh gosh, Calshot. c.1992 I did an 'activity weekend' there with my school. Lots of hilarity on the dry ski slope and velodrome. I distinctly remember seeing a rather nice black Opel Manta in the car park. I don't understand the obsession with larger wheels, especially when you consider their detrimental effect on ride quality. Perhaps I am just getting too old, but give me comfort and a nice pliant ride. Another sterling review, sir! This new Skoda does seem very appealing, but at that price?! I wonder how much is the equivalent VW?
The equivalent Volkswagen would be the T-Roc. I can't remember how much the highest specification one is (I think it would be the R-Line)... Glad you enjoyed the trip to Calshot, we have another video coming up from the visit too which is rather different. I agree with you and Tony, it is better to have these smaller wheels on it.
I bought a 6 month old 1.5TSi DSG SEL with Amundsen Plus Pack recently. Why SEL? I didn't want 19" wheels, I preferred the alcantara varioflex seating and having owned previous VAG products with Panoramic Sunroof I didn't really want another, I like my carpets dry. The only thing I would have liked from the Sportline is the Matrix LED headlights.
The SE-L would most certainly be my preference as well, especially as it comes with the smaller wheels. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting!
An excellent review sir,.we do like our Skoda's. The hard plastics are the same in my Entry Level Fabia, wonder if Skoda were appealing to people who would use the car for sailing/surfing and how they could use the hard wearing plastics. Wish our Fabia could wish us a happy Journey 😂 Like the look of the car, but for me i think i would get a bigger set of wheels, but not the 19inch as they look too small for the car. Do you recall the size of the alloys? I do like the Front Seats.
These were 17" alloys from a late Yeti. The standard ones would have been 19". I think I would most certainly prefer one of these in SE-L trim if it were mine, which would have different wheels again. All this hard plastic on Skodas and the confinement to so many features to the options list means that I don't necessarily see these as my favourite cars any more, nice although they are.
Genuinely shocked by how cheap the interior is , visible painted metal and hard plastics do not become such an expensive car . The air conditioning controls are good though. Won’t be swapping an aging Honda for one . As always thank you Joseph for bringing this car to us .
Yes, the air conditioning controls are the same as in a Seat Leon Mark III, Seat Ateca and lots of other cars, and they are model of clarity in a car from 2023! Thank you for watching, sir.
I drive a new Skoda Superb for my job, and yes, the drive is "superb"! I must admit, however, that I thoroughly dislike all the technology - just too much for a "simple" chap like me (perhaps I'm showing my age though?!). I feel that some of it is perhaps just for the sake of it, almost to "show off" (dare I say it?) - I mean the manufacturer showing off, not the driver! It still remains the best car I've driven so far, in terms of sheer driving enjoyment/dynamics, but despite this, I still wouldn't buy one myself (due to the "over" technology and looks, for me anyway). Thanks for the video!
Skodas are very good cars, and they tend to be comfortable and quite engaging to drive these days. You are right, though, like most manufacturers these days, there is an absolute abundance of technology, and it's not necessarily welcome by everyone, although this one at least has physical controls for the heating and ventilation!
Yes, you can either have one of these or a Seat Ateca, they are extremely similar in many ways. I did review a Sportage back in 2022, and it was overall very good.
Tangerine Dream Sir ! 🍊🟧
I mean that's certainly one way to put it, sir!

Sir, that is the sort of car which should be on Sensible Secondhand Reviews! We do like such things. This Karoq would be better in SE-L trim, I think.
@lloydvehicleconsulting
Yes, absolutely, 109k with full service history and one lady owner from new, picked it up in Oldham yesterday.
Sir, the only thing which would improve it would be a beige leather interior...
@lloydvehicleconsulting
Yes, and no wood trim. It has piano black inserts, which are very smart.
Sir, we would prefer some wood trim instead...
Hello Joseph , I don't know the difference between the Karoq , Kamiq and the Kodiaq very confusing 😱
I think that I may have tried to explain that in the video, sir...
This Sportline looks great in phoenix orange.

Just realised my '91 audi has the same indicator stalk....thats at least 30 years 😮
It's similar, probably not exactly the same, but they have used it for quite a while!
That’s good ! Why change if they work fine ?
I suppose that you are right, sir!
Great review Sir!
I think I’d prefer the SE L trim if I was in the market for one of these too.
Absolutely, the SE-L would be the one to buy, as far as I am concerned. Thank you for watching!
Would you be able to do a review of the mk2 Picanto please?
Depends if I get offered one, I am afraid...

I get very confused with these SUV models nowadays. I really like the colour of this and those seats look cool.
Even since I last filmed one of these in 2020, there seem to be new SUV models every week, don't there? The colour is at least very distinctive!

Why are they all going to wet Cam belt engines now , I've heard nothing good about them .
I don't really know, it seems to be the fashion these days.
I really don't like modern car trends. What is the point of 19" alloys with low profile tyres on something pretending to be a truck?
That's why the owner changed them for some smaller wheels, I think.
Its design over function I'm afraid .Customers seem to want the bigger look .
That sums it up well, I think.
Skoda is to VW what Kia is to Hyundai..I have a Sportage and probably have a better spec car for the equivalent Hyundai ( Santa Fe in Australia)
