Take botw out of this list, it's not really a port it came out on the switch at the same time and is the most popular version so I wouldn't consider it one, put alien isolation in it's place, amazing port

Kinda surprised Alien Isolation didn't appear on the list at all. According to DF is one of the most impressive ports (if not the most impressive), surpassing even the ps4 version in many aspects.
You've got a great point but TBF Player Essences channel has always been based on his own opinion, I don't think anyone would say his lists are the defacto "best" on what the entire switch library entails especially if we're regarding games he hasn't played. E.G: Royal is first simply because he kept shilling it, not because it's the best port. Royal is my favourite RPG of the generation but even I'm well aware it had a lot of compromises solely so Sega could ship on the 16GB cart, most of which could've been avoided had they used the 32GB.

I'm just expressing my surprise that one game that has been widely praised as one of the best ports around, isn't listed at all here. One of the few I stopped watching though, was switchForce; the guy was full of clickbait titles and just false statements (but that was long ago, so maybe he has gotten better). Regarding Persona 5, I do also like the series alot and was very happy with it coming to switch. I did also ordered Persona 5 tactica today, let's see if I do also like that one....

Dying light is one of the best ports and one of the best zombie game available on switch.. good to see warfare made the list.. I have over 3k hours on it
I am happy Dragonball FighterZ is included it's my most played game on the Switch. Even my relatives who are not gamers enjoyed this game due it's easy mechanics and impressive graphics.
Perfect thanks, I’ve added some of these games to my wishlist now. I wish you’d experienced Portal/ Portal 2 when it originally launched, it really was amazing and left an impression on many players. Really a game of its time. Also wish you had played Metro / Last Light ports. In my opinion some of the best ports I’ve played on the switch, really blew my mind with its performance and graphical fidelity, stayed close to the original and looked fantastic.
My favourite AAA port is Nier Automata. How they managed to get it looking and running so good on very old hardware along with it just being a 6" device is a miracle, so big shoutout for fantastic dev team Virtuos whom I think also brought Doom and The Witcher 3 over. I also really the beautiful exclusive costumes for Switch version :-)

Another awesome list! I definitely think that Doom 2016 and The Witcher 3 deserve a spot on the list of great AAA ports, especially because of their significance, but I understand your reasoning. And an underrated port that people keep sleeping on is DMC 3.

Breath of the Wild isn't a port, it's a multiplatform. Generally speaking, games are called multiplatforms rather than ports when they release on the same day or in the same time window. If you don't draw that distinction, then the term "port" loses its distinctiveness and every game would technically a port unless it's the trunk version running in the development environment; but since we play all Switch games on the actual gaming platform, they'd all be technically ports from the code/asset trunk. While I know it's your list, I think it feels a bit stretched to include Breath of the Wild. Also, to answer the question, my favourite port on Switch is Witcher 3, and it's not even close.
I believe what he doing is dope. He is not recycling.... In my eyes it's a continuum or rather yearly update of the original list some fall off and others move up. A brackets of sorts.....this is my forth year looking at this and to be honest I be looking forward to seeing some games standing the test of time

Indeed it should have, what's funny is the reason the resolution was lowered had nothing to do with the Switch's hardware. It was simply due to the fact they wanted to get all the content on the 16GB cartridge and using higher resolution assets would've pushed it over the allocation for the cartridge. Why didn't they use the 32GB's? I assume they thought it was too costly to try.
BOTW was not a port technically, it was just so long in development that it became a dual release. There is content in the switch version that worked better and some that weren’t even in the Wii version but that’s probably just splitting hairs at this point or semantics lol

I have the borderlands legendary collection my question is if anybody knows if I purchase the borderlands 2 commander Lilith & the fight for sanctuary DLC which is not included in the borderlands legendary collection for switch will it work with this collection? I ask because on the Nintendo eshop it states that borderlands the handsome collection is required to have to use this DLC
Finally someone has the same opinion on the DOOM on Switch as me. Even though it's impressive it can run on Switch that type of fast paced game locked at 30 fps with some dips made the experience very dizzy
It is washed... In my modded Switch I solved this ajusting the colors and it becomes another game, seriously! Hyrule with a lived green is everything. If you dont have a modded Switch, maybe can adjust the colors of your TV if its not a Switch Lite, puting the colors to the maximum because it is never like this by factory
You can't draw up a ranking like this and not put a game like Alien Isolation and Sniper Elite 3 and 4 in plain sight... But you put Zelda SS which is a simple 1:1 port 👎👎👎

RDR on Switch is the same as the PS4 version (except for shadows quality), only the PS5 version got the 60fps update

Xenoverse 2 is a great port with added optional motion controls to do super attacks
Hogwarts Legacy is magic on the Switch and Trails into Reverie is also very good on the Switch.

Don’t know if I’m late but yes. Basically BL2 version in this collection is the handsome collection version. So Lilith DLC will work with it.
