- German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Shanghai on Monday, the second day of his three-day visit to China.
He paid a visit to Shanghai's Tongji University, which was founded in 1907 as the German Medical School, and talked with students there.
Later in the day, he also visited the Shanghai R&D center of Covestro AG, a German company.
Economy and trade are the linchpin of Sino-German relations.
Over the past half a century, Germany has emerged as one of China's foremost trading partners in Europe, with bilateral trade accounting for one-third of the total China-European Union trade. And since mid-2010s, China has become Germany’s largest trading partner.

Pretty civilized. No protests, no banners, no over zealous body guards. Handshakes and cordial exchanges, we need more of that in the world.
German made good money from China for last 50 years.
Why bother. He is two faced like many. Acts all nice when there. But goes back into giving hate speeches after he returns.
Finally Olaf Scholz is getting an education in the real world of today. 😂
It seems lately, it is always the case when any a western leader visits China, he or she is facing socio-economic problems in their own country to request China for help?
Yes, their American father is too cruel to let them be dogs and not let them eat food, so they come to beg China.

Looking at China's speed of progress...small country like jermany already realized they are a lost cause
Look at their state sponsored media DW and you will see how hateful they are.
Great leader for the interest of their countries will opt for collaboration. Selfish, only cares about vote by scapegoating will opt for trade war and sanction. in the end it is their citizen who pay. If they don't learn lessons from sanctions with Russia, they should try china and see what Germany will become. Alternatively you can opt for collaboration china will likewise collaborate.
He is one of most weak leaders in Germany. He can do nothing ambitious.
