My attempt at translating the lyrics, the situation is about a love struck woman narrating to her BFF, the story of a night of complete surrender with her lover(The first night of union after their wedding) - " My soul burns, as does my body ,as we gaze into each other's eyes in anticipation of the intimate moments that wil follow .. the smoke from the burning anticipiation obscures everything all night long, I can't explain it you my friend, the fire that lights my being....
As his loving eyes stake claim on every part of my body, my mind is overwhelmed by his intense gaze….my lips are sealed in complete surrender to the tango that his lips lead … I keep trying to make sense of my tossing & turning (as I offer myself to him in complete surrender), I just can't see how (and why) this night should end.
Every vestige of my body, lights up in sparks of delightful pain...the fragrance of crushed flower petals (In Indian culture, the first night after marriage, the boy's side of the family annoint the bed with flower petals), overwhelm my senses like the kiss of a thousand butterflies, as i involuntarily rub the heels of my feet, as I cope with this multitude of never-before felt emotions, the 'heena/mehendi' on my feet (again, an Indian bride has elaborate patterns drawn on her hands & feet on her marriage day) indicate the extent of meta-physical disruption that I experience…
...I wondered if/how/why this night should ever end.
(Note: In the Indian context and the many folk songs that glorify marriage, this song has nothing to do with lust - it's all about faith, gratitude & the purity of the Union of marriage)
    Peace, no trolls please.
