    Agree with this review completely. Just purchased identical Compass in Silver and black. Love this car. Traded a 2014 Dodge Journey for something smaller. As an 83yr old female, this may be my last car purchase and I couldn't be happier.

      Yeah the "very nice" at 6:17 was the last straw for me. Couldn't listen to any more, sorry
      The problem is, it's a poor substitute for actual information.
      Why is it "very nice" ? is what you need to be talking about if you're going to review something.

    We just bought a 2018 Compass last September, a very nice car. The model we bought was the limited but did not have all the buzzes and whistles like the one you tested. We’re happy with the vehicle and opted for the 3 year lease instead of purchasing the car.

    Great review style ....to the point and not too wordy . I love the design of the new Compass and will be giving it serious look in July 2018 and comparing it with the great looking new 2019 Cherokee . The test drive and price will determine my purchase . I love the design of both . FCA is so good at offering products unique in their segments .

    Nice video Rob. I am about to buy one but people are telling me not to buy Jeep, it loss it is value and has so many mechanical issues. I am not sure what you recommend. I am trying to buy an SUV. Currently I drive Honda Accord 09. I've went to many dealers and drove their suvs such as CRV 16, Rav4 18, BMW X3 16, Forester 17, Tuscan 18, CX5 18, Sportage 18. But I really do not know what to buy. Recently I received an offer from Jeep to buy New Compass limited 2018 with 0 mile for $ 22K. The price is very competitive with the other ones that I driven. I know the prior ones are certified, but Compass is brand NEW. Please advice what to choose if possible. My commute to work is about 15K per year. I am trying to keep the vehicle as my 2009 Honda accord. Michigan roads has so many potholes and as you know, snow in winter. I really appreciate you.

    This vehicle in UK 100% scores low. Comments focus on noisy, sluggish engines, vague steering, and some cheap finishes regarding the interior. Personally, I really like the car but I'm having a crisis of confidence. Can anyone out there provide a contrary view?

    • @gpart8252
      @gpart8252 5 лет назад +4

      I agree with Andrew, here in the UK there is a lot of bias against anything that isn't German - this car is my next car - I have done a lot of research and if you look at outside UK reviews they give you a more un bias viewpoint - take a Look at the review from Autogefuhl, they have a whole hour review of the Compass and its really unbiased and honest.

    • @nigelrowe2204
      @nigelrowe2204 5 лет назад

      @@gpart8252 I agree too. And don't listen to that idiot on the 'Honest John' site who fails at a true review and tries to be edgy/funny or whatever it is these days. He doesn't take criticism either. Mine is a UK owned Limited 4x4 petrol 9spd auto. It's not the most economic to run but it suits my needs over a diesel, is great on all roads with lots of safety features. The adaptive cruise control is particularly impressive - on a recent M1 trip over 150miles I touched the throttle only a couple of times. Fuel consumption at 70+mph was about 33-35mpg on my commute I get 30mpg. At 60mph you'll get near to 40mpg. Diesel would be better for M-way use.

    Question: which trims get LED Headlights? I'm curious to know. Does the latitude or limited get them?

    • @TheTestDrive
      @TheTestDrive  6 лет назад +1

      According to Jeep's website it looks like all 2018 Compass trims get the same Halogen Quad Headlamp System and Daytime Running Lamp System. The only difference I see is that the Sport trim doesn't offer fog lights while every other trim does. This is the only 2018 Compass I've driven so far although I will probably get to drive a Latitude soon.

    • @nwing07__
      @nwing07__ 6 лет назад

      The Test Drive oh that is disgusting. No offense. I have a major beef with companies producing cars for 2018 without LED lights. Thank you for the info though!

    • @ObamaTookMyCat

    Hi really enjoyed watching this video ..Does this compass have a lot of wind and road noise while on highway speed ? Because I have now a 2016 compass and I’m thinking of leasing the 2018 but I wanna know if they I’m proved this issue also about the sluggish engine is the 2018 better with power and acceleration ?? Pls let me know because I’m about to apply

    • @TheTestDrive
      @TheTestDrive  6 лет назад +1

      Malka Baum thank you! This Compass is way more refined than the previous generation. Much better ride quality and more insulated cabin. The engine unfortunately is the same naturally aspirated four cylinder. No turbo option and no V6. But if you drive it you’ll be impressed by how much better the quality and the ride is than the old Compass.

    I had a 2016 compass until about a mount ago I wouldn't recommend a compass even for my enemy the car used to shake with every small wind and I actually rolled over with the compass my opinion is that if you want to get killed then take a compass and If you want to stay alive all what you have to do is to keep a distance from that very unstable car

      As I said before, drive like an idiot and any car will roll. I am a qualified Police driver. My Jeep Compass Limited is as stable as it gets. Excellent SUV that bears little resemblance to an 2016 model. This review is for new Jeeps . . not olde bangers.

      The 2018 is completely redesigned, that was the whole point of this video. Do you troll all videos for irrelevant stories about past models?

    Avoid the Jeep Compass! After 12,000 miles I can say the manual transmission is a joke! it is horrible! The vehicle is just awful off road, clearly never meant to leave the pavement. The 2.4 is painstakingly slow (i clocked a 9.1 second 0-60). My first Jeep and very likely my last. I am very disappointed in this car and I would not recommend this car.

      If you don't have the money for a Grand Cherokee and are still looking for a Jeep that has high build quality and good performance and is good for off roading then you should of got a 2019 Jeep Cherokee instead either the Trailhawk model or the limited or Overland model and make sure it's got the 3.2 liter V6 with 275 horsepower.

    • @epicslavegti
      @epicslavegti 6 лет назад +2

      The car is brilliant. In terms of the engine is as good as 90% of the competition. I drove a Volvo xc40 and the Jag E-Pace and they are as powerful. If you want a sports engine you need to go for mid size SUV.

    • @ForgotMyOrange
      @ForgotMyOrange 4 года назад

      If you take the Trailhawk edition in diesel (which I'm heading towards) all your criticisms disappear
      I realize Americans don't get the diesel though
