The price per delivery has dropped because unemployed people became drivers and those that fear for their jobs do not order food and eat out. The people that got in before everyone else could have made money out of it.

In Singapore, some delivery riders are making about 5k SGD (3.6 USD).
The amount may seem little but even with the high COL in Singapore, it is somewhat enough to purchase a small apartment and sustain a family.
The only downside is that job security is awful and one mere accident will screw you up. (No insurance, no hospitalisation pay etc.)
Singapore also suffered a delivery boom during covid but it is nowhere near to what China is experiencing.

This is really sad news! These delivery drivers risk their life to deliver items on time and get some extra tips. This is causing accidents and also increase stress level for many drivers. If you can't compete then you are fired! This is happening not just in China but also other countries like India too.

If it is not worth your time as delivery person, you need to find a different job, I think in some area, there are just too many of you competing for the job. My relatives said they are making reasonable income, those that work mostly earn more than 10K RMB a month.

No disrespect to the couriers, but "delivery experts" being pissed that their "bottom of the barrel", lowest common denominator "job" is next to worthless, and blaming one of their own colleagues for that is just silly.
It slaves blaming successful slaves for their misery. When drones replace them, will they blame the drone?
What has our society come to? Rather than elevating everyone as much as we can, we keep slave-kin for our convenience and let them fight amongst themselves for the scraps?
    We suck.
