I ordered from him today
Kyle, to maximize your rentals, I’d stay away from a dump trailer for deliveries. Steel bed low trailer with welded on chains and turn buckles would be my suggestion. Make the ramps only useable for that excavator and rent it as a package.
Man that house and all the really expensive toys and stuff and that hot looking Keystone Girl!!! "you must have fell in shit"
Just posted a video to my RUclips channel of a 1 ton excavator clearing trees using the TMK 150 tree sheer. Crazy how powerful and efficient these things are!
Dude, you don't owe anyone an explanation relative to what you own or what your worth is. It's yours and you earned it through hard work and smart decisions. The difference between you and those who are critical of you is you're looking forward and and finding opportunities while they are looking backward at mistakes they've made. I for one really enjoy watching what you're up to and wish you continued success going forward. And for the record, I'd love to be in your position with land, shop etc, but until I put in the work it wont happen. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration.
Thanks Rob, i appreciate that. I know everyone ls situation is different. I want the channel to be relatable to everyone but thats not always going to be the case. Thanks for the nice comment and have a great weekend.
Well stated my guy.
Well said.
Can’t wait to see it put to work!
Should have that video up next Saturday. Going to put it to work this week
There is never a shortage of “nay sayers” and azzholes, Kyle. Lad, you have it together. Great channel, great family, great energy and skills. Keep doing what you do. Love your channel and your sense of humor.
Thanks buddy! I appreciate it. I want the channel to be as relatable as it can be, but its not always going to be the case.
Not sure if this will help anyone but Q&A Equipment Sales in Paducah, KY sells Kymron equipment and the guys are super helpful and informative!
Nice little MACHINE! Can't wait to see what that baby can do. Keep up the hard work and great videos. As others have said you're not going to please everyone. You're good motivation for many people and I'm always looking forward to your videos. Have a great weekend!
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback and im looking forward to testing that little machine out too.
Another awesome video. We found that the DEF at the pump lasted longer than buying out of the store. We hauled trailers out of Goshen Indiana to get a little traveling in. I know most people’s problems with their emissions is stopping the truck from doing a regen.
You gotta spend money to make money! Good luck with your new venture 👍🏻
Video idea: Why a mini mini excavator vs a compact tractor w backhoe?
Ya thats a great idea. Ill put that on the list. Thanks for the suggestion.
After putting the DEF in your truck you should’ve thrown the plastic jugs into the woods. Just to save the planet😂. Machine, machine, machine. 😂
That machine is adorable. Micro machines makes tractor.
Wait wait wait... you didn't even bring 1qt of oil for that thirsty truck that just burns oil? Hahaha. Might have to start looking at Kymron if they are available up here in Canada! Cheers, Alex
👍🏻 Check the fuel and fill the oil lol
Hello, I have a Kymron Rh14-3 and a mini skid steer, I use a regular 5x10 3500lb capacity dove tail single axle trailer with heavy duty straps to transport. Easy to use and works great for this machine. 👍
Bought my tractor for 30k in 2004, worked the piss out of out. Fixed it a thousand times. Paid for itsself several times over. That use to be what a "normy" would do. You know that old guy at cars and coffee with that sweet 60 year old truck. Thats just the truck he bought 60 years ago, worked, and fixed. Make work normal again!
Tilt top trailer would work nice for both of those machines.
That's a handy little machine! I just sold a 100 year old broken dinosaur John Deere 15 for about half what that one cost. Good to see an affordable option for us Normies LOL!
Hah! My other machine has done well for me so far. Im finally going to put the new one to work this week.
Im so happy for you brother. Good job and keep going. Video idea; maybe do a video on the basics of the rentals and what you look for when renting them to people
Thanks for the idea!
I would be interested in content on your renting the machine. Such as insurance incase someone damages the machine along with if you feel it is worth it.
I will put my qh 12 against your little one you just bought hands down . I guarantee you the only difference between yours and mine will be the swing boom which is huge I'll admit. I only paid $4,200 to get it in my driveway versus your 9 or 10 thousand. I just ordered my thumb for another 400 bucks. I need to make a video. Ivan excavators my whole life I am 56 years old, and I'm telling you this you're not going to lose and neither am I I do love your videos keep them coming
Thank you for sharing!
Always Love watching! That is a great size for around the yard, Very handy!
Ya thats a perfect machine for around the yard. Wont tear up the lawn either. Unless your digging i guess.
Congrats on the new machine and the plan buddy💪🇺🇸
Thank you!
Congrats on the new machine! We're looking forward to see how it works out as a rental business for you.
Thanks! We’ll see hoe it goes. I have more to do before i rent it out but it should bring in some money.
Really enjoy your channel. Like the usefulness in DIY home life mixed with family. MACHINE!
Thanks Nick! Id say its pretty relatable to a lot of people. I want to continue the channel in that direction.
Don’t said bad about Chinese excavators I have one and is working great
MicroMachine!
I brought a stand-on skid steer loader for our property. Which isn't great for digging, but its awesome at lifting and moving large amounts of dirt or anything else that fits in the bucket. Clearing larger sections of grass and debris with the bucket and has about 10X more ground speed travel.
One of my neighbors has a similar-sized excavator and they work perfectly in combo when we need them to.
Sounds like a nice Machine
Keep up all the great work and don’t worry about all the haters.
Thanks Dan. Im not too worried about them. I like calling some of them out. Someone made the same comment on this video. It was kind of funny what he said.
I rented one last summer and based on what I paid, your ROI should be pretty good!
Thats what im hoping for.
Blue one looks sick!
Nice new MACHINE. Great video
Thanks! Im looking forward to testing it out
Nice Machines!!
best of luck for the new rental business with the mini digger. 💪😎
Thank you!
Good rule of thumb is to treat DEF fluid like milk. Cool dry place, out of direct sunlight and watch your expiration dates. I try to use factory fluid when I can, I have used Blue DEF on occasion...the lesser known the brand, the more likely you're going to have a problem. Kyle, you are correct in that you might not know the supplier of the DEF fluid at a truck stop, and there's no way to check how old it is.
Thanks for the good info Tim.
Loved the intro!
Really dig your content! If you're 3 hours from Indy then you're not too far from where I live. Keep up the good work and don't let some of these commenters get to you, there is always somebody who has something negative to say.
Im southwest of indy. And yes, very true.
Good buy! 👌👍
Think about using those jugs to carry your chains. I do and it’s a lot easier handling.
Love your videos. Might have to get me one of those small Kymron's.
Thanks! Its a pretty nice little unit
These machines are tempting. 50K for a 6 ton unit is pretty great. Good luck with the new one!
Ive been very happy with them. The K&R channel just showed a sneak peek of an 8 ton unit too.
I got DEF at the pump that was contaminated. It was after a heavy rain and i believe their tank got contaminated with rain water. I got some walmart DEF and used that and it cleared up the codes.
I bet thats pretty common
@SpicerDesignsLLC I've purchased DEF from Rual King, also. They used to have the best price and I never had any problems with it either. If you have a Rual King nearby, it's like the Walmart of farm stores. They also have some of the best prices on guns.
@@jamesb.armstrong5433 we do. I love Rural king
Rural King. I just noticed that.
Hey man, new to the channel! Very relatable/informative content , can't wait to see you hit 100k ⚡
Thanks buddy! I appreciate it.
@JLCustomBuilders that would be awesome.
People who know what hard work is want others to succeed. People who complain about others success will never have any. Their attitudes wont allow it.
I agree. They hyper focus on everyone else’s success instead of their own. As you know my whole channel is basically about sharing info and skills ive learned to help others. So it can be frustrating when they make comments like that. But it’s all part of it and i just have to deal with it.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC it's way easier to complain then, get up early, put on your boots, and take the opportunity knocking at the door. It wasn't just your door, or mine. Opportunity is everywhere, some are just too lazy to answer it. You've helped me with the plasma table/fusion 360. you want others to succeed too. Can't make them put in the effort though. Congrats on your newest endeavor!
@@davidsimms2806 thanks David! And well put. Always enjoy your comments.
You need a little tiny baby trailer to haul that thing!
Ya i want to get a small trailer and outfit it for the mini.
Kyle, I see a Kymron dealership in your future.
You never know. When i get my shop set up it may be an option
That’s a new one for me I always call it horse piss 😂
Have to tell you, have not found "DEF" that doesn't damage exhaust control sensors. End up replacing sensors on average every 18 to 20 months in our 18 wheelers (12 units). Like the first generation "anti-lock brakes" on commercial vehicles have government making rules / demands on something they know nothing about and cost public money or getting them hurt.
Also DEF stored in a tank will start to crystallize
She’s a cute “machine”. Perfect for many projects to be done. Nice investment shoot if you were local to me I’d rent that for a weekend 🤑. Watch out for poo cheers ky
Thanks Curt!
some u-tuber called DEF " diesel extortion fluid".....apropos
Congratulations! Rent out both! Might as well.
That would be nice. I just dont want my diesel Kymron getting beat up. No one takes it easy on rentals
@@SpicerDesignsLLC true. I rent a 55ft all terrain lift for the Christmas light season and it was 3 years old and looked 10
Yikes. Lifts are good money
If Def sets in sun it can go bad. It will evaporate and separate.
Machine 👊
….But what if you are 6’-5” tall?😮. Looking forward to more content.
Hes not fitting in this machine. Id have to cut a hole in the roof
It's amazing how some people just aren't happy with their life situation, and they have to be a Pessimist. F-EM. Just my opinion, and a damn good one! Keep your shit going the way you are.
And Hurry Up!! LOL
Thanks buddy!
I suggest you get a single axle tilt trailer to haul it on. Would be safer.
sure-trac.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/ST_SingleAxleTiltBedEquipment_Rear.png
Is DEF an exclusive US thing? I live outside the US and it isn't required. Perhaps a US tree-hugger thing?
That is exactly what DEF is. Complete BS!
Love it I was tossing round the idea of buy similar size fir here at my property and couple odd jobs to make quick buck I have a kioti ck2610 as well and was thinking bout a back hoe for it but this mite b a cheaper option and like ur doin could rent it out . Also received my hats they are perfect and thanks for getting them to me so quickly thanks again
I also thought about the backhoe option. I do think the mini is a better route. Mainly because removing that backhoe is a pain. I think you have more options with the mini too. Glad you like the hats
@adampittman1624 as an owner of a ck2610 with a backhoe and also owning a mini excavator I would advise you from my experience to not buy the backhoe for the tractor. I bought mine because at the time I didn't have a truck and trailer to move a mini excavator. My reason was I can drive my backhoe down the road or through a field at a good speed and mini excavators go really slow so how do I move it? But I regret buying the backhoe because it is not as useful as a mini ex. So after buying the backhoe and being unhappy I still bought a mini excavator. My advice is don't buy the backhoe. Save the money to rent an excavator for jobs. If you have the need just buy an excavator. My backhoe is great for planting trees or digging straight lines but don't work as good in tight places and it just doesn't do what an excavator can. Plus you can't put attachments on a tractor backhoe very good. The kioti backhoe utilizes the tractor hydraulic system so good luck adding an attachment to its backhoe.
Great video as always!!! Also... You are an Electrician too. Do some more videos on that. Or not, I dont give a Sh*t. LOL. "Your phrase" lol
Ya i will have some of them coning. Pretty soon on the barn hopefully
Man, I need to dig some trenches for piping, wish someone nearby me was renting them out. Seems none of the normal channels have one near me, only an hour or more away which sucks when you take into account a daily rental price.
Also are you only trying on purpose to meet guys named Adam? LOL
Hah! Thats right. I like Adam from Hometown Acres and Adam from Indy Farm life so much, i want to meet more of them. Too many Adams.
I was thinking about opening a Kymron or Groundhog dealership. But my area is just saturated in the cheep Chinese junk low as $4500.00 for new units. Common people just don’t understand the differences. They just see $$$$ vs $$$
Ya its unfortunate theres so many of the bare bones auction machines around
Great Idea! I am considering the same plan with my LB75 Backhoe and Dump Truck. I just never researched the insurance requirements and legal rental agreements. What references did you use to develop the business plan and cover down on your rental agreement and insurance if required?
I havent dug into the legal part of it yet. I got pretty backed up with projects so ive had the rental process on hold. Ive been getting familiar with the machine too before i rent it out.
Great video as usual, except that the Keystone girl was nowhere to be seen. It would have been great if she cam out of stage right to grab the stinky sweatshirt from you.
Just kidding, but she still should be in the video. In fact, she should be in all of your videos. Curious, as you progress with this latest venture, what you learn with regard to insurance for such a rental business.
Keep it coming! (More Keystone girl)
Thanks! Ya shes always busy with the girls. She will be in the next one though. And ill have videos with progress on the renting process
Kyle, that 'mini' mini excavator investment opens up a lot of opportunities of getting work done for a home owner that has a small job. Should be a good money maker for ya! Ballsy move! You're definitely a guy that falls into s#it, and comes up smelling like roses!...
Literally!!!!
Haha! well put John. Ya i think this will be a great investment and good content for anyone interested in a small machine like this.
Fun Fact #381 - 97% of all FORD trucks ever made are still on the road. Some are still even drivable.
Pretty cool little machine. You need to post move videos lol I'm stuck at home with broken ankle need some spicer entertainment 🙃 without poop bahaha.
Cheers bud
Damn that sucks. Did you have another roller blading accident?
@SpicerDesignsLLC no derby , just canadian ice. The wife isn't happy we are expecting a child this month, and I can drive now. Oops
@@kiotimike dang. Well congrats on the baby. Thats pretty awesome. Keystone will help you heal faster btw.
Did you ever look at or, consider a Sany? Just asking because it’s a pretty popular brand in RUclips land. I know there’s an issue with buying them at auction apparently voiding the warranty. They probably don’t have great dealer support either. 🤷♂️
I have looked into Sanys. They are nice units. I was able to get the Kymron with more options and decent amount cheaper.
Drives me crazy when people say DEF Fluid!
Cool. More versatility compared to just a backhoe attachment on the Kioti.
Yes i agree. Dont have to worry about taking it on and off too. Honestly might be around the same price as the backhoe for the Kioti too.
Im in Indiana as well.. Northeastern. What would insurance run us, Indiana guys, to do what you're planning to do with it... by renting it out? I mean, we gotta have some sort of liability package in order do so, yeah? I'm asking because I'm wanting to leave my 9-5 and pursue my own gig. I'm just trying to learn as much about working for myself as i can before jumping into it. Hope all goes well for you!
Im still working on the business end of it so i dont have all those answers at the moment. As it progresses ill be sure to include that info in future videos.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC sounds good! Appreciate your response.
That excavator is just big enough to piss you off about how little it can do.
I'm very interested to see its capabilities, how much lifting and digging capacity. I really like your larger "Machine " and honestly at this point I would choose the bigger "Machine" but I'm curious if you can change my mind...
Im with ya there. Ill be putting it to work this week. Should have that video up next Saturday. Sounds like they are pretty capable machines. K&R Equipment channel has a lot of demo videos of these smaller machines if you havent seen them yet.
Were you able to find an insurance company for your new venture? Is it a new LLC, or operating under your existing stuff?
I dont have it all set up yet. I need to find a good rental agreement. Id like to run it through my existing LLC but i have more to get figured out.
Put water in your def tank saves u money $$$$
Hah no thanks.
I’m curious to see how strong the little guy is. That could be perfect for digging a trench for water lines or buried electrical wires. I’d looks too small to be effective, but I’m not one to judge a book by its cover.
Ive heard it very capable. K&R had a video of it picking up the back of a truck. Im going to be testing it out this week on some stumps and digging.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC I could see it being useful trenching through the woods. A root ripper would be a cool option for that task.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC Also, (just a thought). Until you buy a new trailer, you could weld an 8” piece of c channel on the inside rail of one of your ramps to make loading the little guy a bit easier.
Ok, not 8”. I meant making one ramp 8” wider to the inside.
Ya thats a great idea. Its definitely sketchy loading it on that larger trailer. Id like to get a dump trailer so i could use it on the property too but they are pricey.
Next up you become a Lyndon dealer.
Im guessing that was supposed to say Kymron. Ya you never know.
how has the rental business going on that thing?
Still working on getting everything set up. Its still going to be a little while.
never buy DEF at the pump. ever.
We get DEF at the pump almost exclusively with zero problems 🤷
Bull urea not cat lol
Is there anyway to get kymron excavators in Canada ?
Im not sure. You would have to reach out to one of the dealers for that question. I would have to imagine they could.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC sounds good , thanks for your reply. Great video btw, good idea starting a rental . In my area of Atlantic Canada it’s a big industry
Are you going to rent just the "machine" or you and the "machine"?!!!
Just the machine at this point. But i would be open to some small jobs.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC I was about to ask the same question. I love the idea of renting out a machine like this, but would be concerned that 'homeowners' would unknowingly beat the tar out of it trying to use it in ways that it was not intended... Any concerns with careless people abusing it and you not being able to tell until it is too late?
All these Chinese excavators sold in the USA are all the same. I’ve owned a groundhog for 3 years it’s identical and even came with exact toolbox. The design flaw as you cut out every time is the pusher blade cylinders are to short, the blade doesn’t have clearance and always drags. I would never rent that machine out. You better get millions of dollars worth of insurance, a homeowner will roll that machine and most likely get squished.
Kymron and Groundhog do have upgrades compared to the auction machines. But yes, same base platform. Im not going to rent it out without the proper paperwork and safety in place. Thats a given.
12:38 I hate the ugly feeling loading a unit onto a trailer. I had the misfortune of having to load a Bobcat skid steer that was missing the bucket. Every fiber in your body is telling you it is going to fall backwards.
Ya it was a little sketchy for sure. My ramps weren’t narrow enough either.
It's a shame you have such a nice shop ... you know it could have been bigger LoL
Its a good size for what im doing. Im going to add on for an office space hopefully next year.
It’s poop again
Ya what are the chances of that.
Not being 6'5" his impact circle was smaller though....
You work hard but sounds like you are thrifty with your dollars by drinking Keystone beer instead of the high dollar beer. I was a Coors man and never spent the money on expensive beer. Stay smart, stay healthy and stay blessed..
Thanks Jim. Ive always been a saver. The wife is the same way. Makes a difference.
You bet it does. I retired at 52 and was a general building contractor. My Dad always said to me, work hard and put in the hours while you are young. It will pay off in the end. He was correct. Glad I found your channel and like I said before I like how you and the wife joke around. That is the way my wife and I have always been. @@SpicerDesignsLLC
