- ProMMAInsider.com spoke with UFC middleweight Luke Rockhold inside the Mayweather Boxing Club after he got in some sparring. He was in the gym working with talented cruiserweight Andrew Tabiti.
Luke Rockhold is now healed from his knee injury and looking forward to returning in January

Two years later and he still barely uses the jab.
+Kone HIBRID Does it matter? he can throw every kick imaginable and has world class jiu jitsu
I dont think the jab matters as much when you have a million more angles to choose from
Firas Zahabi is all about the jab GSP,Rory and his other top fighter all have great jab but yeah after seeing how Rockhold throws his jab that terrible jab against Bisping no techique at all he better not used at all
U Gardu Yeah well he has much more tools than just a jab have you seen his kicks?
All strikers should strive to improve their jabs. Even great kickboxers like Luke. The jab is useful in situations where a kick isn't always practical.

Obv boxer was better in boxing.. But add more dirty boxing, some more postural off balancing.. and its all luke with the hands. Ofcourse all these things are illegal in boxing.
Kep I wouldn't consider those half hold body shots a wrecking but he did look much more natural/ experienced in the clinch yes!

quenquen411 Ward cant do it better because what I am talking about is illegal in boxing. Sure under Strict boxing rules, Ward may be able to work around those rules and push the limits.. But if those rules were not enforced, every boxer would have a hard time dealing with it, without specific training for it.

Id rather say the most dangerous type of fighter is a Tae Kwon Do guy who understand MMA.. Much greater balance, flexibilty, KO power in the legs, and it translates ALOT to juijitsu aswell.
Boxers are the worst base in my eyes. Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Karate, TKD, Wrestling everything thriumps it.
oh and u are lying about anderson silva, he was a Tae Kwon Do black belt as a youngster, and did muay thai later on.. He only dabbled in boxing. jeez.. You have only trained boxing right?? thats why ur so biased i guess. lol. Open your eyes
Overall talent, luke looks notably slower and less coordinated. You can be a fast novice, and luke was just a novice. "Rockhold gots no jab" is applicable to what this was... sparring in boxing. The same way if they were training pure wrestling you could say, I don't know "x has no takedown defense."
The man has no jab. Tabiti went easy on him as to not discourage him into not coming back to the sport of BOXING as he stated, and Luke got to train with a boxer. Good for him. He still has no jab. Boxing very week.

Basically you can come from any base and get into MMA and "mix martial arts" ...but no grown man can realistically come into boxing and accomplish anything. Big difference. No big deal.
+Dannynorw I agree. That's why Luke is in with a top Cruiserweight...to work on his weakest tool in the kit. His BJJ and Kicks are A+ though.
I wish one day some high level boxer will go to do a mma sparing so we all can laught at the weakness of skinny leg boxers

This is such an educational video! It clearly displays what level of finesse boxers have over MMA fighters who themselves are great strikers.

+immyboi I agree. It's a ridiculous conversation. Of course Mayweather would embarrass McGregor. Any top 20 welterweight boxer would so as well. Now, if it's an mma fight..even with 4 ounce gloves, the topic gets flipped on it's head. Any top 20 UFC featherweight would whip Mayweather in an MMA bout
maybe in a strictly boxing match, in an MMA match a boxer would look like a joke. Mayweather would be dismantled within a round and severely hurt. McGregor would really hurt Mayweather in a street fight or MMA fight. Even in an all striking match with no ground game, but knees, elbows, kicks, spinning back hands, every kind of striking is a go and McGregor kills Mayweather. I'm a Mayweather fan but his only chance is in a boxing match where you take all of McGregor's tools away from him.
