On release Remothered Broken Porcelain was super buggy. There are a lot of videos of people playing it day one and the game is almost unplayable with several serious bugs that prevent progress and even ruin important cutscenes. One really annoying issue was that Jennifer would sometimes yell one of her lines that she says when found when the stalker hasn't even noticed her. You will just be stealthing around and for some reason Jennifer would think the stalker spotted her and she would start yelling "Leave me alone!" attracting the stalker that didn't even know you were there.
Omg totally... during my playthrough I got tons of annoying bugs... sometimes you won't even understand what was going one... the funniest bug I got that I remember was that the stalker from the flashbacks teleported into the "present", appearing during the cinematic in wich Rosemary was watching TV at the hotel, and then he killed her once the cinematic was over lol
Ooooh, that is so embarrassing how did the game devs let that happen
Honestly, Wesker ranting about Uroboros in the stilted awkward way everyone talks in Resident Evil one is hilarious to me. Either no one ever acknowledges him going on this wild tangent that was unrelated to everything else like it was normal or after everything is said and done they’re just like “so uh… Why’d he start talking about Oroboro snakes?”
“I don’t know that was really weird.”
I wanted Remothered to succeed so bad. The first one really hit that PS2 horror with such an interesting aesthetic. It’s a shame the story seemingly fell apart and a super glitchy sequel. It felt like there were chunks of the story missing.
@@Shawn_Raz_87 The last game has many plot twists that are tiring, and the lapses of the cutscenes are confusing.
I feel like people confuse just Crossdressers, Drag and Trans people too much, when they don't really have much in common aside from maybe clothing.
Fr!! Thank you for bringing this up 😊
Yup, the first two are playing with gender presentation (whatever you identify as) while the third one is an entire change in gender and extends more than just nonconformity
Remothered is a series I really want to succeed cause it's got some neat thematic ideas, it's just unfortunate that neither of the games quite came together.
I'd really like a remaster for the first game in a couple of years and the chance to make it a little brighter. It's a really interesting story and makes me happy to see
I really loved the story of both games
@@finnrogue9435 Why that?

The first time I saw Remothered: tormented fathers I was like "This game came into contact with rule of rose". From the name Jennifer, to the story of mr. Felton being dressed up as a boy by his father and the damage this had done. And later, when reading an article about the infamous Panorama article which trashed rule of rose without reason, I found out the Panorama article was copied from a review imagining what the game could be based on the trailer. Not only that, but Chris Darril admitted to having drawn inspiration from Rule of Rose. No lie, I felt like a genius right then and there.
Remothered was good but the lack of experience the devs had is extremely visible, I also remember seeing the vanilla Unreal texture/shader in a mirror right after an important cutscene
There's an indie horror game, that is inspired by Clock Tower. And a spiritual successor of Remothered 2D, that game is called *Ladies of Sorrow* ✂️
As rough as the 2 games are, can we all agree that the Red Nun is a peak scary design that was massively underutilized.
It's kinda silly to have a character named Mdm Svenska (meaning literary Mdm Swedish) moving to/operating in Sweden. I'd be like an American being named Lucy American.
Or Johnny English.
To be fair, a couple of children here have had the good fortune of being named "America", though as a first name.
Don't get me wrong, it's just as stupid; it's just sadly also no longer in the realm of "so absurd it's unthinkable".
Johnny Freedom Eagle! Which, now that I say it out loud, sounds like a Native American Character, but I'm picturing an all American, 1776 patriot, blond haired, blue eyed, 80's action hero.
@@cooltrainervaultboy-39 LOL.
I am sorry! 😁 There is a lot of stuff I could certainly tell you all including a few of reasons that pushed me away from the whole franchise, incredibly tired and frustrated, despite the unexpected success of the first game. Btw, loving your videos, your analysis method is top-notch and can't wait for your next Rule of Rose's video which is, still today, one of my favorite games ever. Keep up the good work. Best😊
Your art direction is really strong, I look forward to your future projects
Yoooo it’s the creator! Thank you for keeping the legacy of clock tower esque games alive! Looking forwarded to the next gem!
Next time maybe don't be incredibly transphobic and unabashedly insult people on twitter for disliking your games, that would go a long way.
@@meltdownremix1996 THIS! I thought he was pretty cool at first then realize he was an ass, people are allowed to not like games but then to be basically bullied by the creator bc of it is super childish.
@@melliethemortician So sorry to hear about that. From what I remember, actually, the one and only time I answered back, since it was nor the one and only time I received critics or insults, even by homophobic people once we revealed the love story between Jennifrr and Linn, was because a few people, disliking the game, thought to have the rights to laugh about a picture of mine in swimming suit on my private account. Like that, since I am someone behind a game or whatever, I cannot be allowed to wear a swimsuit. In that case, well, the game itself may be liked or not, of course, as it is shown and it's legir but expecting to gratuitously offend the person behind whatever project and pretending to be perfectly fine, to me, it is bullying itself. But I am perfectly fine with all the constructive critics and comments since they can only make you a better person 😊
I'll be very sad if Remothered doesn't get the third game to close out the trilogy. They're flawed games, but like you said, they've got heart. It would be a shame to see it unconcluded.
Yeah, I just came across them on a Switch sale and was excited by the gameplay description and got both.
The fact that the creator stepped away before completing the trilogy is concerning.
Seeing that stalker spin around and shoot his gun in the background during that psychiatrist(?) meeting in the foreground ENDED ME!
Another great video!
I suggest watching John Wolfe's playthrough of BP bc somehow that glitch is even funnier in his run of the game 😭
its a player controlled character. People do that especially during the countdown timer where you can't move your character yet so they just spin around in place shooting their guns and whatnot.
The problem with the Broken Porcelain game is that it tries to go between 3-4 different timelines at once and in turn results in flashbacks within flashbacks. Madame Svenska a.k.a Celeste is narrating the entire plot to the brother of one of the hotel's victims about Rosemary a.k.a. Lindsay in turn spends much of the game interrogating Stefano Ashmann about Celeste's wherabouts, in turn leading to yet another set of flashbacks within that about hers and Celeste's brief childhood acquaintence working at the hotel, and also in turn when teenage Celeste is running through the hotel she sometimes has flashbacks about previous events in her friendship with Linn that brought them to that point. It's extremely messy and can be somewhat confusing at times.
Remothered despite its shortcomings will never be forgotten in my book, due to its art direction and soundtrack. The red nun especially unnerved me, I loved how her veil mimicked the horns of the moths she controlled, most memorable stalker from the game imo.
Please look at games such as "The Cat Lady" and "Downfall" made by "Harvester Games". They are dark, very unique, and philosophical. They are amazing games and it makes me very sad that not a lot of people know about them.
dont you worry love, it’s just the end of the world~
I love cat lady! It interested me and I bought it for full price. It has some dumb moments (I’m looking at you, zombie cat!) but regardless I love it anyway.
The original "Downfall", please! It was so much cool and creepy than the remake "Downfall: Redux"
I watched FightingCowboy play The Cat Lady years ago. That game was more disturbing and fucked up than horror.
@@AZodiacCancer I guess that's true. Psychological horror is more creepy than some sort of fantasy stuff, because people can relate to it more.
Have to love it when the AIs forget how to use doors or how you look so crazy that even they stare at you 😆
Ngl when the enemy just stood there like 🧍 at the door I lost it 😆😆
@tangomushi it was like "Is this a good time to kill you? It kinda looks like you're having a moment I can just stand here.... and stare" 🤣
@@tangomushi glad to see ai suffers from the " Okay why did I come in here again?" condition
@@redcoatgaming4141how I be at home
@@redcoatgaming4141 That had the same vibe as that Drew Gooden (Or was it done by Danny, I'm not even trying to do the joke I legit don't remember rn) vine "You ever go into a room and forget why you wre there *gets stabbed* Oh, that's right I was getting chased by a serial killer!" Except it's the serial killer forgetting why they went into the room
EDIT: I unintentionally did the meme, it was by Danny Gonzalez not Drew Gooden, oops xD
Excited for Rule of Rose, probably my favorite Classic horror game. The main thing I remember about Remothered is thinking that the characters must have figured out that you can't die if you keep talking because that gaping wound death monologue went on F O R E V E R
While the first Remothered was a solid horror game in spite of a few hiccups here and there, the second one was doomed to fail, and no bug fixing was going to save it.
There were far too many gameplay elements that weren't all needed (Moth Key Upgrading, Crafting, boss fights, etc.). The story jumped between Celeste/Jennifer and Rosemary at the wrong moments, and Rosemary's section was far too short. Andrea was the only stalker that was properly utilized while Stephano/Elisa/Red Nun/Porcelain were all barely explored. Celeste/Jennifer and Lynn's relationship progressed too fast. The story also had too many plot points that were either underdeveloped (the missing girls and how they related to Jennifer/Celeste) or poorly told (the purpose behind the Phenoxyl project that started the entire mess, along with the burning of the Red Nun Convent).
Broken Porcelain was too ambitious in terms of story-telling and gameplay, and it was released far too soon. Maybe another year or two would have saved it.
Watching this video brings back so many memories over the past 15 years or so of my life. I was fortunate enough to be considered a friend of the creator and he was very nice to give me a role in both Remothered titles. I am forever grateful to have watched a talented person thrive in such a tough industry. I cannot imagine. Great video here and has a ton of information that people, especially the few of us close to Remothered will enjoy reliving. I can't express my gratitude for even having the minimal role I played in both Remothered titles. Thanks Tangomushi and Chris Darril. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows by the time Remothered concluded but I have full faith, that these efforts will lead to an impressive future for Horror and Chris Darril.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch - what a heartwarming comment to read! I can tell a lot of care went into these games from the creators, voice actors and everyone involved, and it was a joy journeying through them as a massive Clock Tower fan - and now a massive Remothered fan!
Excited for what Chris Darril will create in the future. And best of luck to you in your future endeavours, Scott! ♥️
I'm not a huge commenter but I wanted to say I love your style, humor, voice and general positivity. Your criticisms are direct and concise without bordering on being mean or discouraging and we need more of that in the world. I'm glad I stumbled upon your CT video. Can't wait to see Rule of Rose, that's certainly an undertaking from what I remember.
I really wanted Remothered to succeed because it was always apparent to me that it was a passion project that was oozing love for the genre and a good sense of atmosphere. I still think that the setting and the aesthetics are very good and show that the devs really knew what kind of game they wanted to make... but that doesn't really count for much when you make such a weak and confusing story to go with all of that, which completely kills the experience for me.
They really should have taken a page out of Clock Tower's book and realized that less is more, sometimes; the first Clock Tower game is by far the simplest, but it's also the scariest one in part because of it. Just being stuck on a creepy demonic mansion as a helpless orphan girl was enough to make you feel that dread.
Wow I had no idea how different Remothered was gonna be originally…
(10:15) Oh thank goodness! There are so many stealth-ish games that let you use the Flashlight without consequences. Walking around with your high beam and nothing notices. Now THIS is a breath of fresh air..
Oh man, I remember the launch for BP, those bugs were truly something else. Despite that the game looks amazing and it's such a shame the story was a shambling mess but honestly I cant say I'm surprised that Chris abandoned the series after what happened. The ending especially pissed me off because it was surprisingly well done for what it was but it felt so just, undeserved for the how the rest of the game was.
I got the second Remothered game in a Humble Bundle choice pack. Having watched many Clock Tower video essays since then, I suddenly understand where the inspiration for certain elements came from lol.
Yeah! A lot of the nods would be lost on western folk (especially since the OG Clock Tower was never localised, unfortunately) but it's awesome to see all those elements come together in a modern Clock Tower-esque game!
I'm so excited to be here this early, and for a video by one of my new favorite creators! Honestly, the main thing that killed Remothered for me was the writing - not the story itself but the stilted, confusing way things like dialogue and documents were written. I'm begging indie horror devs to invest in editors for their text. 🙏
I've had my eye on his project(s) since it was announced as a Clock Tower remake. The emotional tug-of-war of whether or not it would ever come to exist gnawed at me for over a decade, and I did really enjoy what the original Remothered was. Here's to hoping for more! We need more games of this type.
What a coincidence; I just found you today and finished binging your videos 30 minutes ago. Excited for this one!
Haha, amazing timing! I hope you enjoy!!
32:31 When you walk into a room and completely forgot why
I'd love to add some other Italian films that Darril was heavily influenced by: The House with Laughing Windows, The Mysterious Enchanter, Don't Torture a Duckling, and Deep Red. Goooood shit.
I would also recommend Berberian Sound Studio, a psychological horror film about an Englishman who goes crazy creating sound effects for an unknown Italian horror film.
Ugh Tormented Fathers was so good imo, and then came Broken Porcelain... what a mess... and now they'll never finish the trilogy.
Also!! What a fantastic video, I'm really loving your content 🖤
I just wanted to say that your videos are so chill, informative and just fun to watch and listen to. It's always a treat when you upload!
I’ve been really enjoying your videos! I voiced Jennifer/Celeste in Remothered: Broken Porcelain, and as a MASSIVE fan of all things Clock Tower (Haunting Ground is my fave game of all time) I was super sad to see the reception to BP upon release, as we’d all worked super hard on it and it was my first video game protagonist voice role 😂 but I’ve really enjoyed seeing your perspective on it, binging your vids rn 🤣 keep up the great content!
You always find a way to keep us intrigued, entertained, and give us a lil chuckle in between, while keeping all of the important, informational aspects of the your topic nice and condensed. Seeing it live i couldn’t follow any of it, but you managed to Give us all that we needed here. You’ve done it yet again T. Can’t wait until you dive into rule of rose
I am fan of Chris Darril' work since the first time i finished RTF, it was 2018. It was very unique deep atmosphere, because of its combination of writing/directing/music/design/acting. And that atmosphere still always with me, that's not what you can forget. Looking forward to Bye Sweet Carole. Thank you, Chris❤
every video you make is amazing, been going through the other essays over the last few days and im really glad that videos about stalker horror are getting the love they deserve!! its amazing seeing your channel grow as a result of all the work put into each new release :))
Great video! I was actually the producer for BP from the publisher (my name is in the credits if you care to check). And let me tell you, I have some STORIES about the development of this game.
Ohhh I NEED the scalding tea!! BP was the first game I've ever pre-ordered on Steam because I was so excited to play it after loving the first one so much. And well... disappointed doesn't even begin to describe how I felt. Please do share!
Something about the style of Remothered (the unfinished Clock Tower Remake) reminds me of The Cat Lady, a game so bleak and dark that I can't even finish watching a Let's Play of it.
Your rule of rose review/analysis was in my recommended, and I really loved it! So I've been going through your other videos. Greatly appreciate your evenhanded and funny commentaries.
And now we get a rerelease of the OG clock Tower game.
Oh, and I was thinking about rewatching your videos and seeing this in the front page was a pleasant surprise! Good work as usual and a great way to be introduced to a game I haven't heard 'til now!✌
relatively new sub here, found your content probably within the last two months, and i just want to say: i genuinely adore your long-form videos. (i specify long-form because i haven’t watched the shorter ones yet) they’re entertaining and informative and you single-handedly got me into clock tower and haunting ground. i was so excited when i got the upload notification yesterday, and i really look forward to seeing where you take your content going forward. keep up the good work, you’re doing so well that i had no clue you were a small/new content creator until i went to your channel to subscribe
Speaking as a professional game developer, there’s a noticeable graphical downgrade in Broken Porcelain, which is ironic, considering the higher resolution. The lighting and shadows look much flatter, and the characters’ skin looks too waxy and artificial. I personally think it reduces the horror atmosphere compared to the first game.
I love your videos and I look forward to whatever topic you choose next. It's such a comprehensive breakdown of the games you cover with clear visuals and great editing. Finding your gem of a channel was a delightful surprise.
I was re-watching your fatal frame video and hoping I'd see more horror reviews. Glad to see another uploaded!
I've been bingeing your channel for the past day and only just noticed how small your channel is! I honestly have been going into your videos assuming you had an audience around the 700k range like the many other RUclipsrs of your genre and the quality of your commentary.
I hope you grow significantly by the end of the year. You absolutely deserve it!
Wow, this comment absolutely warms my heart. I'm still learning a lot with this RUclips thing, but comments like this let me know I must be doing something right, haha. Thank you so much ❤️
That italian pronounciation *chef kiss* Excellent essay! Thank you, and much love from the Bel Paese :D
Phew, the last thing I'd have wanted is to mispronounce giallo in front of my Italian viewers, to be honest 😂 Grazie!! ❤️
I just wanna say that you're pretty much one of my favourite RUclipsrs. Everything from your style to your personality to your humour and positive attitude and thorough reviews of all the games you cover make you an absolute delight, and I really enjoy whenever I see a video of yours in my subscription feed.
Definitely here for all the survival/psychological horror stuff, but when you do take a look at other genres and games, I would be very interested in seeing your thorough thoughts on the Bayonetta and Devil May Cry franchises, if those are up your alley. Especially Bayonetta -- it's my favourite game series currently, and I adore your intricate and articulate thoughts on the stuff you review, so just putting that out there.
Either way, I'll eager consume whatever content you put out next. Keep it super-stellar, Tango-san. :P
I can never get enough of your videos, they're so fun to listen to and appreciate such classics!
As an old school survival horror fan I loved the first game so much. It was a love letter to ps2 era classic horror titles and it felt so fresh. You know it when you see a passion project done by someone with vision.
The direction, the cut scenes and the aesthetics were great. The Red Nun was such a terrifying and instantly iconic horror villain, it's kinda sad people don't talk more about her. And the gameplay loop was okay too. It did its job and you really felt trapped in that mansion.
I played the second game after few patches and it was still broken and borderline unplayable. The ai was bugged, some of the game mechanics didn't work properly and it really ruined all the tense moments of horror. Boss battles were terrible as well. It's a shame, since the game had so much potential. The new location of European winter resort in the 70s was such a cool backdrop, I loved it. But they should've released it in early access first like they did with the first game and then iron out all the bugs.
I really wanted it to be good, smh
And thank you for saying that the plot was a jumbled mess. At first I thought it's just me not being smart enough to understand it. Now that I see that other people struggled too...
We love a good glitch compilation!
You've become one of my favorite youtubers ever.
I remember hearing about Remothered when it was still planned on being a remake of Clock Tower and getting rather interested about it. It then dropped off and nothing was heard from it, so seeing the eventual outcome is something quite fascinating alright. A very good overview of the small corner of horror indeed.
A claustrophobic cramped mansion just feels scarier in general for me. because of how realistic and paranoia inducing it can feel. With that said, large mansions in horror games, are often captivating and almost overwhelming. I enjoy both.
Fantastic video, both nostalgic and informative! Keep up the great work. I'm Looking forward to future content!
Clock Tower is my favorite game series.. it's so nice to see it receive as much love and attention as it does in your videos. And I shouldn't.. but now I'm hype for this chance to have a new Clock Tower
Broken porcelain, no matter how buggy and poorly designed the game is, I still love it. I remember my experience with the game so well. It strikes the perfect balance of so bad its good, and is the only game that has done it imo. I honestly can't believe I'm feeling nostalgic for a 2.5 year old game lmao
The fact that this is an indie game is very impressive!
Edit: I love that some of the chase music incorporates sounds of a ticking clock. Feels like a cool nod to the games that inspired it.
I loved Clock Tower, but never even heard of the Remothered series until this video. I went and looked and Porcelain is on sale on the eshop. Thanks for covering this series! Definitely looking forward to giving it a shot.
Mannnn you need to post more videos. Bought Remothered off your review (in spite of all the “it’s crap” reviews) and I’m SO glad I did. It’s one of my all time favs now. PLEASE post more!
I will say as someone who found out about Remothered during the initial remake period (Was a decent fan of clocktower first fear/ps1 sequel), I was disappointed when he decided to move away from it. As that oil painting athsetic was pretty unique at the time, leading itself to some interesting warped visuals that were pretty spooky. But I can understand why he decided to make it its own thing, Here's hoping his new project can meet his artistic vision.
11:58 😳 damn that chase music is intense ! I had a brief look at the game years ago but it never caught my attention like haunting ground did, I’ll definitely look at a play through now!
I think I've seen these games years ago, but never anything in-depth, so this was a very interesting watch. Can't wait for the Rule of Rose video!
I made a guide for Remothered Broken Porcelain. I remember that the game was very broken on release but since they made patches it plays better now. It was so glitchy before the boss fights were even different, like the fire extinguisher never worked for me, I had to stealth the boss like 10 times and somehow it worked, it was such a different game playing it day one.
This has been such a great journey! Honestly my mind clumps Rule Of Rose in with the Clocktower series for some reason, (maybe the era/atmosphere?) so I'm very excited to see your take on it!
I just discovered your channel and I’m literally telling all my friends about it! Can’t wait to see more from you! Your reviews are amazing!
Did you know that even Resident Evil has a some Giallo inspirations as well?
I rewound the explanation of the plot of Broken Porcelain & the overall story, and I still am none the wiser about who was who and what was going on. The plot would require a serious 2 hour deep dive on the plot alone, it seems. 😂
Brilliant video as always though, and I can’t wait for Rule of Rose. I’ve read so much about the game over the years, I’m in the UK so it was banned here for complete bulls*it reasons, so I’ve never been able to play it. Can’t wait!
Yes Rule of Rose! It fits right in with the vibe of these past few videos
Thank you for making this video. I always wanted a full detailed review of the Remothered series since they did interest me but I sure as heck was confused.
Also squealed a little in delight when you mentioned you'll be covering Rule of Rose next. This has always been my favorite horror game (despite the gameplay being lacking). I love the fairy tale feel to this game and the symbolisms scattered throughout that I didn't get at first until replayed it again. Of course I always felt so down playing it being such a tragic story but it sure is a damn good one.
Can't wait for the next video!
Part of me wonders if some of the problems with Remothered has to do with the plot being made to complicated? Seems like there is a lot to follow, while part of the charm of the earlier Clock Tower games had "THERE'S A BABY MAN WITH GIANT SCISSORS TRYING TO KILL ME! I DON'T CARE WHERE IT CAME FROM I GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE!!" energy. That, and discovering more about the monsters had a game mechanic to it as the more you learned, the closer you would be to stopping the monsters once and for all. Just a thought.
I can not fucking believe that was first version was made in rpg maker that is insane
genuinely such a good video i havent watched a survival horror video essay this refreshing in a while
I recently got into survival horror and your channel is a blessing
"Remember Heavy Rain? Me neither."
Is nobody gonna talk about this lmao
Your ‘Clock Tower’ video was suggested to me and I had never heard of it but love old terror video games and I stayed! I’m very excited to see your ‘Rue of Rose’ video because that game…oh boy! 😅
I'm becoming obsessed with your channel, EXCELLENT!!! Sooo interestingly presented, detailed.. just wow
I have been waiting for this video! Also enjoyed your Clocktower Marathon streams
18:50 But this is not about a transgender person. This is someone who was forced to act different than their gender. These sound similar but aren't the same. Yes, portraying that in a game can trigger a sense of "villainization" of trans people, or multiple personality disorder, DID, or mental illness. However, I can't see this as meaning that this person being one of those. This is talking about another experience and trauma that kids can go through HAVE YOU made them feel as less than based on the gender they're born in. Trans and cis kids can experance this. This is also a very true experience in many cultures that girls and boys go through irl that has nothing to do with being trans.
Great Vid! I wasnt even aware remothered started as a "remake" of clock tower. Looking forward to your next video even though I have never even heard of Rule of Rose's, guess I will have after the video : )
GG tango, thorough as always! It's genuinely comforting listening to your vids while working on stuff, although I'll never forgive you for kicking huey
43:52 This might not be the game you were hinting at near the end (even though it had a mobile spin-off in 2018), but have you ever heard of Gregory Horror Show: Soul Collector? It’s a forgotten PS2 title based on an equally obscure anime, and it feels like a bizarre hybrid between Clock Tower, Chulip, Animal Crossing, and Luigi’s Mansion. It was only released in Europe and Japan, so physical copies are pretty hard to get a hold of; but there is an emulated version available online.
Man, it really is a disappointment what happened to Broken Porcelain. I'm not well versed in the development, but I doubt that all those technical issues got through QA unseen and I'm wondering why they opted to not delay the release by a few months. It had some real promise as a series.
Also, would like to vote to check the Siren (Forbidden Siren in Europe) games on the PS2. Honestly one of my favorite mechanics in horror games and also still manages to spook me to this day.
Just discovered your channel and I love your videos!
As for your comments on que confusing things at the end of the first game, the reason Richard said he killed Jennifer was because Gloria manipulated him into thinking that Ariana (his wife) was Jennifer, in the same way she did to make him try to kill Rosemary, that's also why Richard refers to Ariana's corpse as "Jennifer" at the beginning of the game. And the reason he refers to the girl Rosemary is looking for as "Jennifer" is because he projected who he was meant to be if his father hadn't abused him to raise him as a man. He sees who he was before and who he was going to be in his daughter Celeste, thus why he calls her Jennifer.
Also, it's not that Gloria only recognizes Rosemary at the end, she recognized her since the very beginning, that's why she left the keys where they could be found by Rosemary. Gloria wanted her to come into the house so she could trap her and get revenge on her for the things she mentions in the end, leaving everyone in the monastery to die in the fire. But as she reaches her final moments she opens up and tries to leave everything in good terms so she can rest in peace.
And for the promise Madame Svenska refers to, it's true that it is not clear what she's refering to, but I thought that Madame Svenska was Rosemary reviving what she went through at the Feltons house, and the moment Jennifer/Celeste recording mentions the promise to meet "At the top of the world" and Gloria also mentions the promise to Rosemary before dying, I tied both things together; even if I was wrong in Madame Svenska's true identity.
So I think the game leaves some things open for the second game, but it can still somewhat work as a stand alone thing. And I actually think it should have been, since the story was so all over the place in the second game (even if I loved the what they did with the relationship between Rosemary/Lindsey and Jennifer/Celeste)
Sorry for the long comment, but I really really love Remothered: Tormented Fathers, I've played it a lot of times and noticed this things 😅
i think i might enjoy my time here. thank you for all your efforts and time
Hi! So, I watched your videos on Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground and now, Remothered. About time I leave a comment: your coverage of the games is great and I find the video length quite comfortable, too. As long as a Twin Peaks episode ;-) By the end of this vid, you shared how surprised you were to hit 100k views. I think it's well deserved for the polished video presentations. And the Irish accent :3 Just keep following that passion. I'm sure life has great things in store for you and your videos. Also, I can't go without mentioning the bit of Silent Hill music I heard at the end of your Haunting Ground video. I'm a sucker for the SH music and aesthetic. So, thanks for that, too :D
edit: I read through the descriptions of the other videos I watched. More SH tracks that have gone undetected. It's subliminal bait for SH fans at this point :D
Such a good channel! Horror is my favorite genre, but I'm not very familiar with Japanese horror, aside Resident Evil, Silent Hill and... Parasite Eve. Therefore, this channel is just a goldmine of new information for me. Thank you for your efforts, you make enjoyable and informative videos.
And sorry for my English :D
Another banger, tangomushi. I've been watching your channel since the Clock Tower video and so far haven't been disappointed in your content. By the Algorithm be blessed!
I loved the first game, for me the second game had a lot of good aspects about it specially after they fixed it as fast as they could after the release, but it was overshadowed by that first impression it made on people, also the story getting more complicated, but I remember crying at the end, I loved that second game too ! despite the bugs and frustrating moments while playing, I'm wishing the best to the developers and everyone involved, I will never forget these series
Great video! I'm not one for stealth games but your video makes me want to play these :)
Side note, I love how you talked about the story elements - it felt very fair. It sounded like you have a lot of love for the game but know that it can be a hard sell for a variety of reasons.
As a big fan of the Clock Tower series and Haunting Ground I absolutely LOVED the Remothered series. Though, yes when the 2nd one came out it was very buggy and my save got corrupted a few times unfortunately but it was still an extremely fun game, and I think they did a great job with it. I also very much enjoy your videos!
Yaaaas Tango!! Loved this! Haven't played Remothered but loved this video and cannot wait for Rule of Rose 🌹🌹
One of my favorites from high school 💕
Always look foward to your uploads lol another great video!
Your videos are absolute master pieces, thank you for gifting us with them!!
To be fair, broken convoluted plots flying by at break neck speed being made up for with art direction and music is the most gialo thing possible.
This was ever so good, I've never played the Remothered games myself, but always enjoy watching videos on them and other horrors.
Dario argento mentioned!
36:01 that's the kinda content I'm here for :). GG as always Mango, amazing stuff!
