  • A review of Rebecca Brown Books ,
I have a newer video on the same topic posted, which is probably a better video.
I read this book in the early '90s. I checked it and the 2nd in the series out and was reading them at the same time. I found a lot of theologically shaky arguments. The second book, I think, said that if you relax your minds, demons can attack you. i should have known better, but I still had trouble sleeping after reading all this stuff about demons and reading that. Then I read other people reading the book and not sleeping. Several years later, after church, I went out to lunch with friends. One had a RB book on the table. She said she was going to try to read it this time. Every other time, she stopped because she couldn't sleep. I encouraged her not to read it.
There are several problems with the book. If the book is true it, GETS REVELATION FROM DEMONS ABOUT THE SPIRIT WORLD AND SLAPS BIBLE VERSES ON IT. Pay careful attention to the book. The author's ideas about the spirit-world that she argues from come from this witches experience. The witch in the story is demon possessed. How does RB know that the woman was really leaving her body in a 'spirit body' going into a doctor's apartment she didn't like, and throwing plates at him with her spirit body? Couldn't this be a demonically inspired vision? Why should a Christian trust the spirit experiences of a pagan as valid? Why should Rebecca Brown trust Elaine's claim that she saw demons fighting each other? Maybe the demons were in the business of decieving Elaine about the spirit world. Why should Elaine's demonically inspired revelations about the spirit world be helpful for believers? Also, since demons are deceivers, can you trust the word of the Elaine character while she is using demonic power? Why base our understanding of the spirit-world on it?
The book MISUSES SCRIPTURE. Some of the arguments are based on capital letters or the choice of translation used in the KJV. That's pretty lame. I suppose KJV onlyists might accept it. Other interpretations go against the context of scripture. Rebecca Brown uses a verse that talks about the state of our bodies after the resurrection of the dead to argue that we have 'spirit bodies' that, if empowered by demons, can leave the human body and pick stuff up.
My recommendation, don't read any of these Rebecca Brown books, certainly not the first three in the series. I just scanned the third book, and it seems to be more of the same stuff, with details of how witchcraft is done, and weird stuff in it. It says if you want to get a demon out of someone's hand, you have to anoint it with oil in a ringing motion toward the fingertips to get it out. Why don't other people who do deliverance need to use these techniques? (Why don't they say stuff about demon-possessed hands?)
Another problem with this book is it sure seems like, if everything in it is true from the perspectives of the main characters, that demons were just having a time messing with the author. Why should we learn about deliverance from someone telling how they got bounced around like a ping-pong ball trying to do deliverance? Why not get a book from someone relating their experiences after they have learned to exercise authority in this area?
If you want to read a book on deliverance, read the Bible. If you want to read another book, read a book based on Biblical doctrine from an author who walks with authority in this area.

Astral projection is real and warewolves are just shapeshifters (black magik is used to shape shift) in He came to set the captives free she did show that the dark side is way more powerful than we are as humans (which is true) but ultimately shows that Jesus is more powerful than any darkness.

She clearly warns us in the beginning of the book that Satan don't want to be exposed and he will do anything in his power to put fear in your life. if you're not spiritually ready to read this book, don't read it. I've read her books and believe me, Satan was furious. I served Satan for years and this book helped me get closer to the Lord. I remember as a child, seeing shadows and drawing Satan , I was rebellious, I listened to demonic music, and wore my Satan chain as my "protection" and when I had my encounter with God, I began to question alot of things and this book was my answer to many questions. Yes, I was under attack but God placed a woman in my life who showed me how to fight the enemy with God's word, breaking curses and etc. We are God's children and we need to know how the enemy works. Satan hates getting exposed.... so if you're not spiritually prepared to go to battle, then don't read the book, but as God's children we should already be. God be with you.

Just because you haven't experienced the situation doesn't mean that it is not true.I personally think it is a great book, and I'm glad persons are encouraging others to read it.From the review you made,I realized that you hardly had any understanding of the books she wrote and just because she explained one way to get rid of the demon doesn't mean that it is the ONLY way and anyone can see that. These are real things, and even if you don't believe it now all things will be revealed in due time.

As far as I can tell, the idea that human spirits can go out of the body through occultic power and do stuff like throw plates at doctors we don't like in their apartment, like in one of these books... has no basis in the Bible at all. There is no talk of astral projection. Paul wrote of an experience in the third heaven-- whether in the body or out of the body, he could not tell. But it doesn't mention occultists astral projecting. I see no reason to take a demonized person's word for the idea that a 'silver cord' is a cord connecting a human body to someone's spirit. The 'spiritual body' of I Corinthians 15 is the resurrected body, like Christ had, like those Who are his will have at the end of the age.
I am aware that sometimes people will tell demons to come out in Jesus' name and they don't. Faith is also required. One evangelist I knew, now awaiting the resurrection, said that he had cast out a lot of demons and got well-known for it. People would call him up for help in the middle of the night. Demons would take a long time to come out and it would be a big show. Then he started to just tell them to come out and ignore them. It seemed like when they saw he 'meant business' and believed what he was saying, they just came right out. Jesus also spoke about demons only coming out through fasting and prayer.
Btw, I can't think of anyone I know of in deliverance ministry who ever recommended a Rebecca Brown book.
If you are dealing with someone who is actively inviting demons back into themselves, you SHOULD NOT interview them to find out how the spirit world works. Demons can lie. Demons in people can lie. Liars who want attention can also spin a huge tale about sleeping with Satan, conspiracies about underground organizations, cast suspicion on individuals that they want to accuse of being part of the organization. A lying spirit might move someone to tell all these lies if a spirit, rather than just flesh, is behind the lies. The Old Testament says not to consult with these types of people. So Christians shouldn't consult with them.
They certainly shouldn't misuse Bible verses to teach doctrine they learned from occultists.
It could be that there is Satanic ritual abuse and underground organizations, and a demonized people could tell a riveting story that contains bits of truth but with factual errors so that those who research reject the whole story.
I never met the people from PFO, but they posted on the web that they interviewed people from the RB story and posted many things they claimed did not add up. It could be RB reported her experiences to the best of her memory and recollection. Like I said, I don't know the PFO folks. But if she did, she consulted an (alleged) medium/witchcraft type. Isn't a 'familiar' a forbidden category to consult in Deuteronomy 18? So why should we believe any doctrine about how the spirit-world works that comes from a familiar, someone with a familiar spirit?
I also notice that a certain types of people seems to really be radical for Rebecca Brown, and some of them like to insinuate because I don't care for the messed up Bible interpretations to support ideas which if we believe her story she got a demonized woman, that I must be part of some secret underground organization mentioned in her book or somehow into the occult.

Carole, I was gonna say the same thing..lol.. This is a testimony of two totally different woman. I'm only reading these comments and watching this reader's views now. I read this book about 6years ago. At the time I read the book, I was very much aware of the the tricks and the works of the devil. Our wonderful and powerful God. This book really drove me to read the bible more and to arm myself with the word of God. It made me become aware of the realities of the spiritual realm, the spiritual war that goes on when we pray to God. I would definitely recommend you read this book. This book made me question if i was in the right denomination. I prayed to God and asked him to lead me to the right Ministry that will equip me with the word in all its true form and he did. I am now a born again Christian and have joined a powerful Ministry who teaches us about God's love and that we have been made riteousness through the blood of Jesus. Our president is an anointed man of God who teaches us about Love and the word. About the power of the Holy spirit that is in us. Rebecca Brown's book did make a difference in my life not only of its story but because every line she touched on was made references to the bible. As scared as I was after reading it, it awoke me to work on my spiritual life. A decision I do not regret one bit.
I would recommend that you read this book yourself and make up your own minds. This reviewer would not have the same taste as you so don't let his negative reviews stop you from reading this book yourself. And remember when you read this book, have a mindset of a victorious Christian. Christ has already defeated the devil. After that, dive into the bible and learn more about the word and the glory of God. God bless you all.

This book was definitely an eye-opener to me. Loved the biblical teachings from this book a lot. Didn't enjoy the description of the experiences very much (I'm not saying they're made up. It could have been true).
    My main conflict is:
Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 12:4, KJV: "How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter."
He had a supernatural spiritual experience which he says that was unlawful for him utter (or disclose... that's my understanding)
Also, with Apostle John in Revelation 10:4, KJV: "And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not."
He is advised not to write down what the 7 thunders uttered.
The above 2 passages show that there is a realm, a real one indeed, but one into which we may not pry into.
So assuming that all the experiences and demonic practices that are recounted in the book are true, still the question remains (to me) on the legitimacy of penning down the same.
But otherwise, I really appreciate how she emphasizes:
    - The power in the Name of Jesus
    - How sins covered in Christ's blood give no foothold to the devil
    - The importance of corporate prayer
    - The need to learn God's word, meditate actively God's word and memorize them
    - Exposes how the occultic practices infiltrate music, computer games, movies etc
    - Guard our thought life

There were some theological issues with the book. She uses a 'spiritual body' verse about the resurrected body to argue that we have a 'spirit body' that can go into a doctor's house and throw plates at the doctor.
The Bible also warns against listing to 'familiars', and the book depicts Rebecca Brown as learning all kinds of things about the spirit-realm from someone involved in many demonic activities. How does she know that things she saw weren't demonic visions full of lies? Demons can lie.

None of your points make any sense, as she was clearly not saved at the time and any of the things you are refuting are backed up by countless other testimonies. You can even listen to videos and frequencies to astral project on RUclips.
and Familiars are not hard to imagine either, as there are countless testimonies of people seeing demons or people who take "forms"
even John ramirez, who has the most Bulletproof testimony of all, talks about how the Devil would manifest to him , Lucifer himself but in female form , a seductive female just so it would be pleasing for John
There are testimonies of people casting out demons in churches and the person lies down on the ground and slithers like a snake FREE of any bones, this is completely against Physical reasoning but it occurs@@SaudaraLink

And another thing. When did satan obvious in his workings? Oh that's right! He didn't. Satan is going to attack any way he can, even if he has to use other "Christians" to do it.

I am reading this book now and I am wondering what your problem is with it. I didn't see RB getting her doctrine about the spirit world from Elaine....rather from progressive revelations from God on how to deal with her. She learnt a lot of cult knowledge but used scripture to learn how to interpret things. I cannot go alone with your reasoning and criticisms at all. She has used scripture to back up what she says (about man being body, soul, spirit etc). Don't criticise her work for the Lord.

I read all three of her book as a new believer and couldn't agree with you more. Rebecca Brown seems to try to marry Biblical Christianity with pagan mysticism. You are correct in saying that she builds up the devil to seem more powerful than he really is. When we as Christians focus on "battling" the devil and his minions we take our eyes off of Jesus. If and when we encounter demon oppressed or posses people we have been given the power to deliver them according to Luke 10:19.

My main objections to the book are 1) Christians are not to learn about the spirit realm from 'familiars'--people who have familiar spirits or those spirits. If the story line is true (which I'm assuming for my line of argument, in spite of some debunking websites), then RB got her doctrine about the spirit world from a woman who got her information with demons, who was participating wilfully in demonic experiences at that time.

There are plenty of other bad arguments like that made by taking verses out of context. We aren't supposed to base doctrine on the experiences of witches. This is a dangerous approach. the book salso seem to engender fear. If you want to read a book besides the Bible, read one by someone well-grounded in the word who has experience casting demons out, and not getting played with by demons in a nightmare deliverance scenario.

@diamondpoet admittedly that may have been one of the weaker points I made in the video, but it was my experience nontheless. And I know other people have had difficulty sleeping, not just one night like me, when reading those books. That's not my objection to the book. I was young when I read it, and I just had a little trouble sleeping for a few minutes one time, but I noticed that was a common theme with people who read the books. Just the 'feel of the book' from a discernment point of view, IMO, doesn't feel quite right. Building theological arguments based on the capitalization in the KJV, not the original Greek is a problem, too. There are other books on the topic.

The book seemed to be a mix of practical stuff about cadting out demons, and ideas she allegedly got from an allegedly demonized woman with Bible verses slapped on them, and dome strange conclusions of her own.

@animeloverboi1 I would encourage you to read Rebecca Brown's book! Read it as you would a story book. Don't let it scare you, because it is entirely fiction. All of it is fiction! If you let your fears control you, you will let people who know what your fears are control you as well. If you read it with a pencil in hand, writing down notes when something seems fake or to be an outright lie, pretty soon you won't be scared, you'll be laughing...laughing hard...and much smarter! Good luck!

Her Vessel of Honor book says that to get the demon out of a hand with a demon in it, you must anoint it with oil in a motion toward the fingers. As if the name of Jesus weren't enough? There are a lot of weird things like that based on nothing.
Also, it's like demons mess with her and play with her throughout the book. And people use a newbie book like this instead of reading something confident from someone seasoned.

If I recall correctly, she talks about getting physically tossed around by them. My question is, why read a book by someone going through this kind of experience instead of reading one of the books out there written by someone who casts them out with authority who doesn't interview them about the spirit-realm.

Working in spiritual warfare since the 80s,her books have been foundational in guiding me. No true Christian would bash a warrior of Christ......unless they were on the other side. Who are you going to heckle next oversea missonaries,Billy Graham, the apostle Paul. Your coven should be proud of you. If you were attacking Anton Levay,Aleistair Crowley I would clap,no you attack Christian. Are you related to Judas Iscariot?

You should be more concerned about walking holy with the Lord. I made this video many years ago but I remember was careful not to 'bash' Rebecca Brown. I did not even summarize the PFO expose. But you accuse me of bashing and then you turn around and accuse me of being in a coven. I have never been in a coven. slandering people is a sin so you should be more concerned about not sending than accusing other people.
As with my other Ministry and with my videos is somebody can point out something that I've taught that's not in line with the word of God or else if they want to point out some sin that I've actually committed they're free to do so. but don't go accusing me of things I didn't do. What kind of Christian falsely and publicly accuses another Christian they don't know of being a member of a coven?
The idea that somebody is mature in Deliverance Ministry it doesn't see any problems with these books that doesn't really add up. There are some things she says that are found in other books on the topic of deliverance, but then she's getting supposed information about the spirit world from a woman is having demonic visions and experiences and passing them on as if they're true slapping Bible verses on them that are taking out a proper context to prop up what she's saying. That's the problem. When you do Deliverance Ministry do you interview the demons and ask them for Bible interpretations and information about the spirit realm and then go teach that information that you got from the demons to other Christians?
Some of her ideas I've just seen in her books so I want to ask you a question. I read in her vessel of honor book in Indonesian translation so I'm not 100% sure what she actually wrote in English. she said that if somebody got a demon in their hand the only way to get the demon out of the hand was to anoint the hand and a ringing motion downward toward the fingers to get the demon out. Maybe the English is a bit different but I have a question for you do you think that the only way to get a demon out of somebody's hand is to anoint it with oil with a ringing motion downward towards the fingers?

    • @Greg-cq8wg
      @Greg-cq8wg 2 месяца назад

Totally disagree with what you are describing as a demon in the hand and it does not add up to me ,sounds nutty. I don't doubt that some of RB conclusions could not be contested as mistakes. Saying that after all these years of following deliverance ministry,I have not found anyone who does it the same. Personally,I think the Lord works through individuals differently just as each person is different. Dealing with demons is different every time plus every demon is different and without the discernment of the Holy Spirit your efforts are guessing. There's no need in communication with demons because they only lie. If you know your authority in Christ, they know you know and they leave on that authority. Everything. There is no rule book on deliverance....just obedience to the Holy Spirit and using your authority. The problem I run into weekly is you try to help people but they don't follow my instructions like I'm supposed to pray their problems away while they don't want to do the work. I still don't agree with your verbal abuse but do what you want,I'm not responsible for your judgements. Like I ended up telling a atheist last night,if you don't care where you go when you die,I'm not sweating it,your choice.God doesn't want anyone in hell, but he does honor their choice.

    • @linkhudson9025

@@Greg-cq8wgI agree with most of what you just wrote. (Not the the part about telling the atheist you don't care where they're going.)
I am skipping through video here that I made years ago and I'm not seeing anything that is verbally abusive toward Rebecca Brown so if you have something specific that I said that you take issue with just let me know what it is and I'll consider what you have to say.
My concerns with the Rebecca Brown books are
      1. if all the experiences that she reports having and conversations to reports having with 'Elaine' are true, (and researchers from a website called PFO for personal freedom Outreach did a bunch of interviews and investigation they claimed and that disputed her claims on a website that was available in the 1990s or early 2000s) then she is communicating ideas about the spirit realm that she got from interviews with a witch about her demonic experiences and demonic revelations of the spirit realm...backed up by out of context Bible verses.
      2. Some of the stories make the demons seem really really powerful and make her seem like she's being bounced around like a tennis ball. honestly I can relate to this from stuff in my twenties with some of the people I was trying to help but I'm not going to write a book about it because I don't think that that's very inspirational or that it's going to help people get a lot of confidence and deliverance ministry.
      3. A number of people I've talked or corresponded with who read these books have difficulty sleeping at night.
Regarding the demon in the hand, if you have the vessel of Honor in the Master's service book you can look it up. In the Indonesian version there was a Jack Chick style cartoon-- probably not Jack Chick's--depicting ringing the demon out of the person's hand and the motion that you have to make with the oil. It had a caption that said you 'HARUS' i.e. must anoint the hand and ringing motion to get the demon out. That was a book I thumbed through and didn't read the whole thing but it looked like it had a lot of pictures and information about how to actually do witchcraft. the verse in I Corinthians 14 where Paul says he wanted them to be wise concerning that was just good but simple concerning evil comes to mind.
The way she used verses about wicked versus evil beasts seems way too dependent on the wording of the King James version translation.
I suspected that she might have been a King James onlyist.
I wasn't convinced by our argument in these verses that these verses are talking about werewolves I think it was or maybe even vampires. And I'm actually open to the idea that there may be some demonized people who are werewolves or vampires or at least appear to be or various other monsters like were-tigers and flying head witchdoctor kuyang like some people claim to see in Indonesia, or the flying Swords of the Hindukaharingan Dayak people. But the late RBs use of scripture in these books still seems off to me.

This is very dangerous. As far as experiences go, I believe people can be demonized. I'm open minded to the idea that some people might levitate or turn into monstrous creatures by demonic power. @@silviabadillo5041 If the book is accurate, she got all kinds of information about the spirit world from what the woman she called Elaine told her. She gets a lot of her demonology from that-- from what Elaine learned from demons-- if it's true that Elaine learned that from demons. I'm not even going with the PFO research on the book here. Just setting that aside for now.
It has been years since I read the books, and years since I made this video, but let me give an example or two I remember.
Rebecca Brown took a verse from a passage about the resurrection which says there is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. It's not talking about a 'spirit body' that you can astral project out of your physical body. Paul is talking about the resurrection there. But she says people have a spirit-body that can go into someone's apartment and throw plates and someone. How does she 'know' that-- because someone who was (she claimed at least) having a demon-powered experience of sending a spirit-body into a doctor's apartment and throwing plats at him did so. Rebecca Brown also used distinctions between capital and small 'S's in the KJV as a basis for theological arguments, when there was no such distinction in the letters Paul wrote. Everything was in what would now be considered capital letters.
I've got plenty of emphathy for someone new at dealing with demons who goes through an experience of being kind of messed with or whatever. I understand that. But why read a book like that as a guide to cast out demons? Doesn't it make more sense to study from someone who is a bit more successful.
I saw this in one of her books already translated into Indonesian, so I don't know if the English says this. I think it's the 'vessels of honor' book-- which has a great title by the way. I only thumbed through that one-- lots of info on how to do witchcraft in it, it looked like. Under one of the pictures it said, at least in translation, that if a demon possessed someone's hand, to get the demon out you __had to___ anointed it with oil rubbing toward the fingers. That's from memory, translated back. Why wouldn't commanding demons to come out in Jesus' name work, like in the Bible? Like in the experience of a lot of people who have actually cast out demons instead of went through days, weeks, or months trying to cast out demons over and over again?
I got the impression that she was like a ping pong ball getting played with and messed with. I had some strange experiences with my first attempt at deliverance when I was a young man, but I'm not going to write a book on it and make that as some kind of guide for people to follow. But that's not the main point. The main point is the bad doctrine and treating odd notions as if they were doctrine or the way to do things.

Werewolves: yes they exist. A high level witch or warlock will eventually have a choice of what they want to transform into, choosing from [werewolf, werespider, snake, owl, vampire, etc]. transforming the body is a painful process that takes some time. For vampires, there is no painful process, but their cat teeth grow longer and can be sharpened, and they become addicted to blood. If interested, William Schnoebelen is a subject expert and has several interviews on YT.

@@linkhudson9025 I rely on the internet testimonies of people with personal experience. That would be a question for Bill Schnoebelen or anyone else with personal experience in that area, but considering the physics of exoskletons, I would expect the werespider to be less than 3' in length, possibly with leg span less than 6', but just a guess.
I've never heard any mention of a weretiger in any ex-satanic testimonies. A natural wolf can be dangerous and scarey to a person without a suitable weapon of defense, but a werewolf stands 9' tall, adding a huge element of fear, the primary weapon of those who operate or are controlled by evil spirits. However, a tiger (or grizzly bear) walking slowly towards you with head down is scarey even if you have a suitable weapon, so no need to add fear points.
In the demonic world, the projection of fear is the whole point.

So if we were to post videos or comments about the Satanic Bible, would you support that? I posted on problems with Mormonism. Does that prove Mormonism?
My main concern with her books is her getting informational form an allegedly demonized person and trying to read ideas from demons into the Bible. We shouldn't get our doctrine from demons.

This is one of those books I didn't have peace about after I read it. I'm not going to say the Holy Spirit said this or that when I read it, which was many years ago. I was concerned with the poor use of scripture, taking 'demonic revelation' and using scripture out of context to back it up. Also, why read a book about someone tossed around by demons instead of reading a book by someone walking in victory over them. I don't get why people go for this book.

I believe this too. I didn’t receive peace after reading it either. Not like the peace I experience when I read my Bible. Let’s just face it… the only peace there is, is peace and rest in God. Maybe this book wasn’t written for us. Maybe for those in occults or darker powers. Either way… I suggest reading the Gods word. If I have to question it, I got to get away from it.

I read this book and I prayed and asked the Lord to help me through it and I did, you know something the Bible says greater is he that is in you, it greater than he that is in the world. Saudaralink you can't even put your true name up. You know why you have something to hide, and you know who is always hiding the enemy. He is always in the dark, but my Jesus is the Light and Rebecca Brown's books exposed the darkness and I would tell all christians to read these books and expose satan.

Rebecca Brown is a fake name! Her real name is Ruth Bailey. And her medical license was revoked. Yet she still put MD on all her books. Is that not lying about her true identity? Sure she exposes some darkness but she also puts fear into people. She made lots of false claims like ' Demons can't read your mind' which I know for a fact is a lie. Because I experienced it myself when I use to study the occult. Jesus saved me from the bondage of Satan.
      Be careful what you believe.
Always test it with the Word of God. The Bible is the only manual you need.

First thing that people need to understand is that possessed people do not tell the truth. Come on...the bible says that Satan is the follower of lies...and obviously so are his follower demons. They twist the truth. They mix false lies inside of truth to get people believing them. First rule of all: never trust any familiar spirit/demon.

@ChristianoCult If you want to get your demonology secondhand from a woman who herself claimed to be demon-possessed, go ahead. Those two RB books get information about the spirit world from the lady who claimed to be a witch high priestess. The problem with that is that demons have a tendency to lie. There were some good things in these books, but too many sticks to spit out to get to the straw,.

I just disagree with getting theology from reported demonic experiences and slapping Bible verses on it as prooftexts. I read the books myself. There is some wonky theology in there, mixed with some truth. It's better not to read wonky theology. There are other books and resources on casting out demons.
One of the big problems with the book is, if everything was as presented, she interviewed a medium/witch to get some of her ideas about the spirt-world, and then slapped Bible verses on them.
Where did the idea that he 'silver cord' in a passage in the Old Testament refers to a cord that connects a 'spirit body' to a flesh body come from?
From the witch medium and her experiences. Where does the idea that we have a 'spirit body' inside our bodies that could, through demonic power, go into a doctor's house and throw plates? Through the alleged experience of a medium. We shouldn't get our doctrine form mediums. The verse about the spiritual body she quotes from in I Corinthians 15 is in a passage about the resurrection of the dead, something we are awaiting to happen at the return of Christ (see I Thessalonians 4.) It's not talking about some spiritual thing inside of us that can be sent out to throw plates.
Stay away from wonky doctrine. Don't get your doctrine from self-professed demon-possessed witches then take scripture out of context to support doctrines that originate from such sources.

I agree with you for doing an analysis and review of such a profound book that deals with satan, demons & the spiritual realm...which also demonstrates the reality of the battle that is taking place in the spiritual realm and manifested in the physical world for mankind's soul. but like true believers, the Bible says, that we must not accept everything as the truth or from the Lord, but in fact, put it to the test, so we can determine its validity. for me, the two most authenticated method is, bring it before the Lord in prayer & check it against scriptures. once we receive confirmation from the Holy Spirit than one has scriptural basis to share the truth out of love for one another and this would also mean teaching, rebuking & correcting should the Holy Spirit direct. my conclusion, is that most christians lacked the prayer part, which is essential in order to receive God's divine revelation and answer confirmed in His Holy Word about the authenticity of certain part of the book which RB wrote.

It doesn't say he came to "set" the captives free, it says he came to MAKE the captives free. There's a big difference between set and make. I dare say it's the enemy telling the lie of "set", because when many see they're not set free, they can get disillusioned and disappointed with God thereby losing hope in God even turning away from God & their salvation, OR they think there's something wrong with them or something wrong with their faith.

I follow Jesus not Rebekah, or any ex-witch. Good luck to you following men's teachings. I read her book in the mid 80s. If she or anyone says Jesus sets captives free it's a false gospel. The word set implies instantaneously. You are saved if you are in Christ but you & I still have attachments to the flesh & to the world and sometimes even to the lies & deceptions of the evil one. @@SaudaraLink Huge massive difference between the meaning of set and make. Surely a child could easily understand the clear difference between set and made. Study the power of words in semantics and subtle changes of meaning to mean something entirely different. So many are blind to this work of the enemy to change &/or water down the meaning. I already took great care to explain this, and that Jesus does not "set" anyone free. Some would even try to use Romans 6 to support this fallacy. If we were set free then Paul must have lied in Galatians when he said the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh so that we don't do what we're supposed to do. The key is to walk in the Spirit that we don't fulfil the lust of the flesh. THAT is no doubt being totally free, but who can say they always without fail continually walk in the Spirit? Only Jesus of course walked in the Spirit 24/7. To walk 24/7 in the Spirit would be one who has been set free. But Jesus promised by knowing the truth we will be MADE free, clearly meaning that it happens through our GROWING and development in God.
