Update: BlackBerry Passport launch events to be hosted on Sept 24th. BlackBerry is being a little coy in their announcement but with the tag line 'See the bigger picture' it can only really mean one thing. We have launch party and announcements coming for the BlackBerry Passport. On September 24, all eyes will be on BlackBerry as we host exclusive, invite-only events in Toronto, London and Dubai to show off… well I guess you'll have to wait and see. You're not fooling us BlackBerry. We've been waiting for months now for this announcement. Needless to say, we'll be coming to you from the event in Toronto (and probably London) so mark your calendars, save the date and we'll be bringing you more soon. BlackBerry Passport price in USA is $699 only. BlackBerry Passport price in UK is £410 only. BlackBerry Passport price in India is Rs. 41,999 only. BlackBerry Passport price in Canada is 750 Canadian Dollars only. BlackBerry Passport price in Pakistan is 63,999 Pakistani Rupees only. BlackBerry Passport price in Australia is 745 Australian Dollars only. BlackBerry Passport price in Russia (Europe) is €515 only. BlackBerry Passport price in Malaysia is 2215 Ringgits only.
Background music is a bit too loud. I would rather listen to you speaking Russian even though I don't understand Russian. Anyway, love the Passport, it's beautiful. I will buy it for my wife for Christmas.
Excellent review. You've got 8 minutes to show us everything this new device has to offer, and what would the "average" reviewer do? They'd show us how different apps run, they'd show us how video looks on a 1:1 device, they'd show us some of the newer features on the O.S., etc. But not this guy. This guy's smart enough to know that people don't want to see "new features" on a not yet released device. No, no. This guy knows the best way to review a product is to spend 75% of the time typing out an email message. Wanna know how "flick typing" works? He'll show you. Again. And again. And again. And again. Pure, non-stop entertainment. How does this guy only have 69 subscribers?
Update: BlackBerry Passport will cost $599 without subsidies Source: Crackberry and Wall Street Journal. The upcoming BlackBerry Passport will cost $599 without a contract in the US, according to what BlackBerry CEO John Chen told The Wall Street Journal in a interview published today. This means that the price of the Passport should be a bit cheaper than comparable smartphones. That's a deliberate decision, according to Chen. He stated, ".... I figure that to try to get the market interested, we're going to start a little lower than that." BlackBerry is scheduled to hold press conferences on Wednesday in Toronto, London and Dubai to introduce the Passport. Chen said today the phone will be available "immediately" on that date in some stores and in one to two weeks, he said, "a lot of places will have it" Do you think BlackBerry is making the right decision in pricing the Passport at $599?
This phone is going to become the next big thing. This phone will become hugely popular in the corporate and business community. As for the everyday consumer, those who seek a balance for media rich content and ease of use mobile communication, they will gravitate to this phone BlackBerry will have a huge success with this phone.
I'm impressed with the keyboard that doubles as a track pad. Sell eating text and moving the cursor is the easiest compared to what I am use to. This was enough to make me order the Passport from Amazon
***** :) how much will it cost ?? do u know ?? am from a caribbean island called GRENADA ,,, how do i get my hands on one ?? or do i have to wait until it goes on sale ?,, i usually shop on amazon site ...
bboyflozz nelson usually, the price of this Blackberry Passport device will depend on each country. But I think it cost about $ 700. I'M REALLY SOOOOOO DAMN IN LOVE WITH BB PASSPORT~!!!!!AWESOME DEVICE,I'D NEVER CHANGE DEVICE OTHER THAN BBERRY FOR ITS UNIQUENESS..HOPEFULLY IT WILL COME TO MALAYSIA VERY SOON..~!!!!CANT HARDLY WAIT!
Update... Blackberry Passport available in Germany right from the beginning: So I just went to my local Vodafone shop here in Germany and the rep was so kind to check the database. It's already in their database, but only in black and no price tag attached, yet. He has not heard about this phone before but explained that it usually takes roughly 2 weeks between the phone being in the system at this status and actual retail sales. That would perfectly match September 24. He will put one aside for me, he knows I am a maniac!
I just hope that Passport can bring a bright way for BlackBerry. Hope that this device will be available soon at Indonesia. Need to replace my Z10 with Passport
I just purchased a Z30 and now, blackberry you release another phone 'i have to have.' what is the release date for Australia? My friends in the medical profession, are very interested.

Media Markt Germany now taking pre-orders for the BlackBerry Passport: -If you live in Germany and are looking to be among the first to own a BlackBerry Passport, you'll want to hit up the Media Markt site and place your pre-order. Europe's largest retailer of consumer electronics has priced the device at €599 Euros at this point which includes VAT, though the site lacks details on when it's actually expected to ship after pre-orders have been placed. -In fact, they note 'delivery date unknown' but hey, at least they'll be offering it. It might be cheaper to purchase the device through a carrier but at this point it's not known which German carriers will have the device available so maybe Media Markt is the best option to ensure quick arrival. Good thing you're not at the helm. Gotta atop living in the past. That's what was killing BlackBerry in the first place.
D Mills I do not think so.
Blackberry will recover
D Mills what killed Rim was just its several (and failed) attempts to put itself in a segment already filled and, at the same time, leaving its core features.

That's what Bb lovers are looking at, that is the blackberry heritage (bis, keyboard, ergonomics, style, good materials, identity, efficiency ecc., not big screen heavy battery drainer dumb phones)
After the 9900 bold, Rim suddenly swung over 100% touch oriented phones, leaving the Bold series and all the owners without a valid alternative for future (p.s. sticking a keyboard over a touchoriented phone - like q10/q20 or "this" nonsense device is not the right path for that customer that keep asking a real blackberry)
