Just so you know, Jon Bellion was the only one dropping bars on this track. Tuamie helped produced the beat for this I think, I'm pretty sure he did the drums. Jon Bellion definitely deserves a reaction train, and I suggest picking a few songs from all of his projects as the way he makes his music is pretty different when going from album to album.
A really good place to start is at the beginning of his paid albums "The Human Condition" because yes before that he had released albums, but his first album of 4 free releases was on Facebook. in my opinion "Morning America" although not bar heavy and more showing off his singing capability is very centered around his life and tells you a lot about how he grew up. "New York Soul, pt. ii" has a rap feature and also very good production. "The good in me" Crazy singing. Honestly don't think you can pick a song i don't like of his but those are a great foundation for a Jon Bellion train. Would totally be down to make a list in discord for this but i need to have a limit or ill just end up copy pasting his whole synopsis.
@Dojoguy365 Don't disrespect Tuamie. Tuamie is a producer and he produced all the beats or as John likes to call them "Dilla Joints ". The only thing John did in the production aspect was the adding the strings in the last beat.
@@shakedmashilker8257 I wasn't disrespecting anyone. I knew Tuamie played a big part in this song, I just didn't know how big of a part he played. Thanks for the info, I hope you have a good day
If you think this song was a masterpiece wait till you hear The Human condition especially the last song BUT DO NOT LISTEN TO THE LAST SONG AT ALL COSTS UNTIL U HEARD THE REST OF THE SONGS

This is my first RUclips comment I’ve ever posted - this was worth watching for 25 minutes because Jon Bellion is one of, if not THE best artists of our time. People have already mentioned it but since is the first time I’m watching your show I really think you should check out Jon’s “making of” his songs videos - I’d start with Luxury and Simple & Sweet. I’ve always wanted to hear someone appreciate his music the way I do and I honestly can’t believe I’m posting a comment to RUclips but I’m really glad you’re getting his music even more out there. As you said, he doesn’t care about being famous and doesn’t need to be called underrated because he’s great where he’s at, and that’s what makes him the best. You’ll see in his other videos that he also dives deep into mental health and what he’s gone through and he like Logic in the way that everyone can relate to every bar. Just overall an incredible musician and artist because he does. it. all. (You’ll see more in the making of videos). Last thing I’m going to say about him and this probably isn’t even the right platform for it - but he does everything he can to launch OTHER artists while he grinds. He brings in different people with expertise in their instrument or the way they can carry a beat. I am glad he is getting recognized, that is all. Jon is the best.
It's really hard to pin down a genre that he's in. He kind of created his own genre. He's definitely worth doing a train on his music. If not, try giving a listen to New York Soul pt. II Edit: Also he makes his own beats and he incorporates a lot of mouth and throat noises into his beats. He's really good at making his body into an instrument
"my stance here as a bandleader is Pangea"- basically insinuating that he is a one man band. Most of his songs (specifically his first three albums) were all written and produced just by him, and a lot of the beats he uses is all made from his own voice so he's saying he doesn't really need a band or anything to make his music
it even goes further, beyonce played Nala in the new adaptation of the lion king, this whole reference is there because he missed that opportunity with beyonce he talked about before
Yes! So glad you’ve heard Jon, he’s toured with twenty one pilots and you’ve probably heard of stuff he’s worked on. He wrote the hook of the monster by Eminem an Rihanna and he’s a sick producer as well as an artist
Okay there’s so much to react to with him. First off the entire human condition album. And then his “making of” videos, and his acoustic videos. So you can truly see how incredibly talented this man is. Not to mention he’s produced for some of the biggest musicians
Ok first of all thank you and welcome to the Jon Bellion family aka Beautiful Mind. Second of all Jon is both a singer and rapper but most of the time he's a singer. He raps on songs such as New York Soul Part 2, Overwhelming, Lets Begin and a couple of others. He really got big from his The Making of videos where he would release a song like his big hit Guillotine and then he would release the video of him making the song you should check it out. I really hope you continue down the Jon Bellion journey like you did with NF, TOP and some others.
Jon Bellion is probably one of the greatest modern day artists. He is so extremely versatile and does basically everything. Just listen to some of his catalogue, you won't be disappointed by this man.
On top of the dragonball related bar the guy speaking in that deep voice is the voice actor for piccolo and on top of that dragonball was played on Adult Swim which is how he probably found out about the show. Like every connection in every line of this song is nuts.
The bar about dimentia hits harder when you Know the last song on that album. He talks about his grandma getting dimentia and his mom taking care of her. Man's a freaking legend
Dakota fanning yourself is basically what happened to her in hollywood, she disappeared. She did some work notable work as a child actor then went off the map for a long time. She was also in the Man Of Fire movie with Denzel Washington lol
The LIRR is a subway station that runs in Long Island and earlier when he said “I’m on an ISLAND where opioids go to the rich kids” he’s talking about Long Island. When he says “on my way to the garden” he is talking about Madison Square Garden
Jon Bellion is one of my favorites. Dude can rap, he can sing, he can produce...he is truly multitalented. If you dig into his catalog, you're gonna find everything from some rap tracks to love songs to songs about some deeper stuff. He also has collaborated with the likes of Logic, RZA, Travis Mendes, Blaque Keys, and others. Hyped to see this one.
Finally!!! Jon Bellion is the truth. Definitely check out New York Soul Part 2. He sings, raps, writes, produces, he does so much. One of the best artists I’ve ever heard
Jon produced 'Fall in Line' thats the relationshop, he's produced for a lot of artists such as Rianna, Eminem, Jason Derulo and Ceelo Green are just a few. Also he was the only one rapping in this one, Tuamie just was a collab with the production.
jon bellion is talented as fuck, but holy SHIT you are another level man. your sheer knowledge is ridiculous, I have listened to this song hundreads of times and honestly could have never deciphered most of these. you are an animal
Jon Bellion has been writing and producing behind the scenes for other people hence the fall in line bar. He also wrote monster that Eminem was on. He drops solo albums for fun every once in a while and it blew him up bigger than he expected
Pangea is the name for when all of the continents were one landmass. "my stance here as a band leader is pangea" is talking about how his music brings people together from around the world. also some clever wordplay since Cambria is also an age or something in ecology and Pangea was happening around the same time.
I have been following Jon Bellion since 2012 and he has become one of my favorite artists. He has also done so many things behind the scenes for other huge artists as far as making their beats and writing their chorus's.He even wrote the chorus for "the monster" by Eminem and Rihanna and wrote music for Maroon 5, Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello and many many others. I really hope you get to doing more reactions to him cause he is so incredibly talented.
GOD BLESS YOU for giving us a 25 minute breakdown of my favorite Bellion song ever. I know so many people said it already, but this man deserves a reaction chain, you’ll be blown away after everything! Also the LIRR is the Long Island Rail Road and he’s on his way to Madison Square Garden in NY. He’s from Long Island NY(so am I lol). And the line “I’m still pushing the same whip I was driving to sachem” is him saying that he’s still driving the same car he drove to high school, he went to Sachem North High School. If you need anymore insider info I got you lmao this man is a LEGEND here on the island. We treat him like our pride and joy, because he is obviously. But this video was FIRE, so thank you!!
Pangea is the name given to the supercontinent that existed 300+ million years ago and then broke apart to form the continents as we know them now (i.e. Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas). So the bar you missed means that he encompasses all of the aspects of a band like pangea encompassed all of the land masses. Great vid.
“The white kids are more privileged than he is” Jon Bellion is white, Ernest. He was just talking about good ole fashioned privilege. Race aside. To be real, that’s what we should focus on bc down here at the bottom, we are all the same. Doesn’t matter what shade of skin we have. Just saying...
Good luck with that dude, I've been saying this for a long time, socioecomonics not racist its classist... the man isn't trying to keep a race down they trying to keep all of us down.
like he said in lets begin "i spoke to yahweh, he told me jesus grafted us in, which means my brothers my brother, it dont matter the skin" this is one of my favorite lines of his
WEIRD STORY TIME . I served Jon pizza at little vinnies about seven years ago shortly after I saw him at a logic concert I wrote Vs up visionary on his take out order and he posted it on his insta. Grew up 10 min away from me in longisland ny and had piano lessons with my best friends older brother. doeant make me special but it's crazy when someone of this caliber is so close to your life. WE HAVE THE SAME PASTOR TOO!
“My stance here as a band leader is pangea” ... u missed that one, he is literally the whole band. Writes, records, produces everything.. my fav bar in this song lol, love the videos bro
So Tuamie does help with beat. And fun fact the voice in the background talking about Jon and Tuamie is Christopher Sabat who does the voice for Piccolo in Dragonball Z. I would suggest listening to the album "The Human Condition" from start to finish if you have the time
Never heard of Jon Bellion? He's great. Would recommend All Time Low, Dead Man Walking, and Jim Morrison are probably some of my favorites. But he does all different styles of music not unlike 21 Pilots. And he's extremely skilled at all of them also like TOP. Love the vids and keep it up man.
Not to mention jon bellion and Top blew up around the same time, or at least became more of a known name and they went on tour together. At there roots they are extremely alike by allowing the song to dictate where it wants to go because they know they aren’t bound to a certain genre.
I love watching you vibe out to music...man, seriously Ernest. I came for the awesome Twenty One Pilots reactions & breakdowns but stayed because your appreciation of the craft is bar none one of the greatest. Your love of music just shines through, your knowledge and your ability to point out minuscule details or slight nuances that others (myself included) miss when it comes to artistry, or production is really a joy to watch.
someone probably already said this in the comments but the lion king line "me laying on the job, was not an option at all"...the way he says "not an" sounds like Nala which is Simba's love interest in the movie!!!
Love that you mentioned Andre3000. Jon Bellion loves him. He talked about him in his Genius interview. (He also talks about this song and answers a ton of the questions you had in that interview) He also has lyrics mentioning Andre3000 in his song "Wutup Snow" Been a Jon Bellion fan since the beginning! He's incredible.
So glad I stumbled across your channel. Especially seeing you react to my favourite artist !! Also: when you talked about storytelling and how it makes songs and the artist iconic I immediately had to think of "Russel Westbrook On A Farm" by Lil Dicky - that shit is unbelievable. I can't believe you haven't reacted to that song yet ! A MUST !!!!
I thought i caught all the bars in this one, but now i know i didn't. My mind is blown seeing how much went over my head. Awesome reaction and breakdown🔥🔥🔥
The reference to the vegetarianism at the beginning is because Jon’s grandmother was diagnosed with a form of dementia. If you listen to “Mah’s joint” at the end of the album he discusses it. It’s a beautiful beautiful song. I was privileged to get to see him in Manchester, UK last year. I love all his music but I 100% recommend listening to “The Human Condition” which was his album from 2016 before this latest one. It’s a religious experience. I’d also recommend checking out his ‘making of’ videos so you can see his genius in action. 😘✌🏻
Your reactions and lyrical analysis/insight is actually next level, especially next to all these other reaction channels. You’ve definitely earned a sub. Hoping you react to more Jon Bellion!
Love your reaction/breakdowns man !! I recommend the whole Glory Sound Prep album that this track is from. If not to react to at least in your own time. But Jon Bellion is one of my favourite artists and ive noticed his music can be very hit or miss for people.
To give you some insight on this guy, he is a very good lyricist, went to school for creative writing i believe and has written a lot of popular songs. He raps but also has an amazing singing voice. Check out his videos where he is making the music (specifically making of "all time low"), you will have mad respect for this man when you see his creative process.
Yes, several weeks ago like 3 songs "of him" were in the billboard top chart, he wrote 2 of them for other artists and the other one was an actual song of him
BRO THIS IS TWO YEARS OLD AND I JUST CAUGHT THE BEYONCE JAY Z BAR/LINK! When he talks about Beyonce and Agulira but then at the end when he's talking about on his way to the 'Garden" like MSG/ Maddison Square Garden like Jay Z did when he was talking to the old lady on the way to his concert thats why he makes those noises at the end because he's doing a Jay Z impression MIND BLOWN! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Jon Bellion is a God. I love him. He's so underrated and underappreciated. He deserves the world and will be so popular one day. I'm so proud of how far he's come since I started listening to him over five years ago.
I’ve wanted someone to react to Jon Bellion(specifically this album) for so fucking long. For you to be the one is absolutely perfect, right up your alley. Loved the reaction and your understanding, broke down bars that went over my head originally, great stuff! Also, the LI double R is the Long Island rail road. He was talking about the same whip from Sachem. That’s a school district in Long Island so that’s why he brought up the L I double R

Ernest, John Bellion is a rapper/singer. I think you should go on a journey of discovery for this artist. and watch a couple of the behind the scenes of some of his songs. Guillotine is a good one to do.
He ain’t ready for Jon bellion just wait. The whole Greece thing with his family is actually him going to Greece to mix the album and meet up with the engineer. He took family and did a small vacation. Jon bellion is a writer he actually is behind a lot of good songs. He a fucking genius

Yooo finally on the Bellion reactions , let's get it. I started listening to him after he went on tour with twenty-one pilots.
Dude, ur insane for deciphering this so fucking well
YES. Pls go on a Jon Bellion binge. He is musical creativity personified.
He's not known as much as a rapper compared to being a producer+singer but he spits bars just as good as top tier rappers SO UNDERRATED
You should react to Jon Bellion's track 'Blu!" It's off the same album.
Definitely my favourite from the album. But dude all the tracks on this album are close seconds.
jon bellion is talented as fuck, but holy SHIT you are another level man. your sheer knowledge is ridiculous, I have listened to this song hundreads of times and honestly could have never deciphered most of these. you are an animal
Jon Bellion has been writing and producing behind the scenes for other people hence the fall in line bar. He also wrote monster that Eminem was on. He drops solo albums for fun every once in a while and it blew him up bigger than he expected
If you enjoy storytelling in lyrics you'll love He is the Same by Jon, a whole life story in there
LIRR is the Long Island Rail Road, so headed to the Garden is Madison Square Garden not that it matters, this was awesome
With a Heineken in a bag, Classic LIRR vibe :)
Ernest said “my brain can’t keep up” as Jon was saying “you can’t handle it”. Perfect!
Would be dope to see you react to “the making of” videos he puts out and how he makes songs. 👍🏽
Pangea is the name for when all of the continents were one landmass. "my stance here as a band leader is pangea" is talking about how his music brings people together from around the world. also some clever wordplay since Cambria is also an age or something in ecology and Pangea was happening around the same time.
This is a side of Jon I have never seen. I didn't know he could spit like this.
Great vid.
“The white kids are more privileged than he is”
Jon Bellion is white, Ernest.
Educated privilege is the only true privilege. Whoever invest more time into educating themselves will have an upper hand.
Generations of Motivation Thats true too, but that’s just getting what you work for. Work hard - win hard.
like he said in lets begin "i spoke to yahweh, he told me jesus grafted us in, which means my brothers my brother, it dont matter the skin" this is one of my favorite lines of his
@@generationsofmotivation9212 this is a naive and dangerous mindset.
Personally, I don’t care how long these videos are. The way you break down these songs, & explain everything blows my mind. Soo entertaining too. 🤙🏼💯
WE HAVE THE SAME PASTOR TOO!
joseph mitchell that’s dope!! Who’s your pastor?

Knew you would love Jon Bellion, hes been fire for a long time.
Finally!!! Jon Bellion's production and passion for music is crazy. You'll appreciate it for sure.
You're the only person I've seen be able to break down Jon's bars so well. He's a musical and lyrical genius, and you caught his references perfectly.
Bro you break down bars better than anyone I’ve ever seen. Keep it up bro✊🏻✊🏻
I would suggest listening to the album "The Human Condition" from start to finish if you have the time
Thank you for this great breakdown.
23:39 Sounds like Jon uses word play saying “Nala” (another lion king reference) when actually saying not an option at all.
He says Nala
(He also talks about this song and answers a ton of the questions you had in that interview) He also has lyrics mentioning Andre3000 in his song "Wutup Snow"
Been a Jon Bellion fan since the beginning! He's incredible.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR FOREVER
Your Patreons are cool dudes, man. You are reacting to all my favourite bands :D
It took me about 50 listens to realize that he says "Not an option at all" like "Nala option at all." Nala is another Lion King character.
Jon Bellion is a God. I love him. He's so underrated and underappreciated. He deserves the world and will be so popular one day. I'm so proud of how far he's come since I started listening to him over five years ago.
Jon Bellion would love your reaction! He'd appreciate someone actually breaking it down to this level!
100% Jon Bellion rapping on this one. Fun fact...Andre 3000 is one of his inspirations.
Bruh, your ability to hear, understand and break down lyrics is beyond phenomenal. I love these videos bro. Excellent stuff
only heard of him in passing (Jon) and never took the time to dive into his music. after the first two minutes my mind exploded. that was nuts. thanks for the breakdown as usual because i needed it for sure on this track.
Ernest, John Bellion is a rapper/singer. I think you should go on a journey of discovery for this artist. and watch a couple of the behind the scenes of some of his songs. Guillotine is a good one to do.
First time I heard him was actually at a Twenty One Pilots concert a few years ago when he opened for them!
He ain’t ready for Jon bellion just wait.
The whole Greece thing with his family is actually him going to Greece to mix the album and meet up with the engineer. He took family and did a small vacation.
Jon bellion is a writer he actually is behind a lot of good songs. He a fucking genius
The ENTIRE album a masterpiece and I’m not exaggerating even an inch.
On his World Tour he came to Oslo, Norway and holy shit, one of the best concert experiences ive had, he does shit real different and unique
Addition to the Lion King reference: when he says
“Lying (Lion) down on the job is not a (Nala) option at all”
Yesss! I'm so happy you finally reviewed Jon!
Jon is one of the most underrated artists!!!!!!! please react to more!
best song review I’ve seen in a MINUTE. I’ve listened to this song a billion freaking times and I had to look on Genius to understand some of the bars, but you understood almost every bar the first time around. Super impressed, keep it up bro.
If you like story telling you should react to his song called “New York Soul” it’s an older song of his but it’s his first real attempt at telling a story in a song like that. New subscriber btw enjoy the attention to detail
Fun Fact: He went on tour with Twenty One pilots, yeah imagine that concert #lit
Also, as someone who appreciates Jon Bellion's music and consistently watches your videos. I personally apologize for never mentioning him to you haha. I'm useless. His music is right up your ally!!! ooooooooo I cannot wait to hear you react to his discography! Prepare yourself haha
I was there for one of those concerts! It was as amazing as you imagine it to be
I've listened to this song since the release date, but your analysis of the lyrics brought so much clarity! Thanks for breaking it up and explaining specific lines Jon wrote
I love how you break down the lyrics and really try to dissect each and every bar's meaning. You earned a subscriber.
