The best thing about the original CE-1 was the use of two different LFO shapes for chorus and vibrato. The vibrato is modulated by a roughly sinusoidal waveform, while the chorus setting uses the tried and true triangle waveform. Makes a difference.
I love the sound of the JC-120, and wasn't exactly sure how to get it on a budget. I am soooo buying this! (but why is the one switch inside and not on the back or something? minor mod incoming. lol) Can't wait to hear how it sounds on things other than a tele.
@@Dave-Ouh I suppose. I've never had a problem with the plastic Digitech type case, particularly if you don't care about using batteries. I had the "companion" in a Fuzz Wah for awhile, sold it to a collector & bought an SF300. MAYBE...same circuit in the Superfuzz case. Imho the FZ2 is the ultimate version, with the active EQ & boost mode. Put it in the ultracool case, that's a Reese's peanut butter cup, right there.
Remember that Boss already has the CE-2w with CE-1 mode (although without the preamp part of the original circuit). PastFX also makes a few different versions of the CE-1 circuit, they all sound really good, even their cheaper versions. They also make a very compact model that still sounds dead on. I'm not criticizing the Behringer version, it may be cheaper and have some advantages, but there are plenty of alternatives out there for CE-1 seekers.
Going to the Boss route will cost you EUR400 if you want to have the preamp too. The PB-1W has a CE-1 mode, so theoretically chaining it with a CE-2w is as close as you can get to an og CE-1. Other alternatives such as the PastFX and JFX pedals (when in stock) are over 200EUR without shipping, remember pastFX pedals come from Australia. So depending on where you are in the world, this Behringer release is such a deal breaker considering it'll be readily available through distributors and with a price that makes sense for who just wants to experiment with such a classic pedal.
I have the original Ce-1, It is dates 1978. I have always used it on bass but I would like to retire it. It is bulky needs 110 volts and I always need to keep an eye on it because it is a very desirable unit for those eyeballing it onstage. I will have to check this Beringer unit out.
What I wanna know is can this thing fuzz like the original! If you really turn the preamp up to its maximum, will you get the same heavy distortion the OG is capable of? Regardless, this is awesome!
Behringer: PLEASE rerelease the VB-2. I know the UV does it - and sounds good... but we need one in a robust enclosure. The VB-2W doesn't nail it like the UV-200. I read that Behringer makes the right chip. No one else gets it right AND has the rise function for that beautiful bloom. Come on Behringer - we're counting on you! :)
Oh, if only this was in a more compact form factor, I'd buy it today 🥺 I do understand why they've made it this way, it's just I unfortunately have quite limited space (my pedals are on 2 pull out drawers in a 19" rack unit, rather than a pedalboard, so my available space is finite).
It is considerably smaller than the original (which even includes a built-in ac power transformer etc...). As it still incorporates 2 stomp switches, it needs to be a certain width to easily control it with your feet.
I feel like they should do stereo in on any pedal that can be used with synths. It can't be that much more in parts and would sell so many more of them.
This does sound very good I must admit! £69 what could go wrong? Personally don’t really need it as I have the same effects in my Fender Amp along with the JC-120 emulation, JC-Vibrato and JC-Chorus. But still tempted to buy it!
do a behringer space echo
That would be awesome

Amazing work Behringer. This month I purchased 4 products of behringer (drum machines and synthetizer). So good things you are doing
Great, another pedal I need.
Behringer releasing the classics, i like that.
It's like a mini Christmas every week or so 😃
Andy Summers here we come!
One of the most beautiful chorus/vibrato made in the 20th century !
The hits just keep on comin'. Sounds fantastic.
Tape Delay version please
Yessssssssss!!!
We all need this!💚💚💚
You really should've had Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) in your lineup.
Too young to know or care about music history. Mac Demarco was mentioned FFS.
Another great release! I hope an Electric Mistress is in the pipeline.
Why not buy a real one from EHX?
Hopefully a space echo next!
Main, you guys are on fire. Please remake the Moog Superdelay!
I really wanted to kick it up a notch. Can y’all please make a version of the roll in Jupiter eight it has been long waited for and overdue.
Please do the Maestro Filter Sample & Hold, and Ring Modulator.
And the original Maestro Phase Shifter, but smaller and with three foot switches for ramping speed changes vs the original rocker “buttons”.
the esthetic of the new pedals rules keep it up !!!!
Memories flooding in....Awesome product!
Wow, that’s nice.
I can run my samplers, drum machines and synths through this never mind guitars. :)
that was the idea with the original
Not unless they are all mono - there's no stereo input
@@brentbuckleymusic740 the original was released in the 70s nothing had a stereo input

Any plans to release this as a Module with CV control as well? I would love that!
It sounds very nice.
Gonna run this through my Jc40
Great stuff here, bravo Behringer! Seeing how ur constantly one-upping ur selves, how about this…EP-2 or EP-3 Echoplex?
The Warm Audio C1 ($190) looks really nice, wonder how big the price difference will be. Presumably quite significant
So far everything in this series has been $69 so let’s hope it continues at that price point
Pre ordering this second 🥳🥳🥳🥳🫣
Brilliant.
Like the soundscapes.
The vibrato is
very musical.
Caw blimey guv'nah! \m/
sounds super nice
Damn I knew I should of held off on buying the warm audio chorus ensemble
Tenho amplificador e pedais Behringer e estou curioso pelos lançamentos espero em breve ter acesso a esses produtos.
why hide the bypass switch under a panel ?
Drill a hole for access
Kinda like Fender hiding a second tone adjuster inside their fuzz pedal
Damn lots of products coming out from these guys lately, I dig it
Wow! Synth demo next?
Absolutely fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Its nice to see young people playing in a band like that.
Yes! I’ve been waiting for this since it was leaked years ago.
