Just tried Seagrass for the first time tonight. Wow. Crazy good.

Super interesting comparison Jason. It was fun to guess along as to what was what. Seagrass is such a unique pour and one of our favorites for that very reason!

Seagrass just blew me away. I really get the apricot in the Seagrass. I bought a bottle for myself then had to buy a bottle when I was visiting my sister which everyone really enjoyed. Bought myself another while it's still available. Fortunately they made something like 17,000 bottles so it's widely distributed. I doubt I'll see a bottle of the other two but will buy them if the price is reasonable.
I almost couldn't believe how recognizable the apricot was on both the nose and the palate. Really spectacular whisky.
Fun watch, I really like the seagrass ( haven't bought a bottle yet though), and just picked up a Blackened Willett, I was surprised at the results, so fun!
I would love to see a blind of Wild Turkey Rarebreed Rye vs Cornerstone Rye or KC cask strength vs a KC sib

Seagrass is so good…On my second bottle and it just evolves and keeps getting better. Nice review Jason. Another good Christmas whiskey is Redbreast 12 cask strength imo…Crack that bad boy in front of the fireplace! Lol cheers! 🥃

I could actually pick out which was which based on the notes even without trying the blackened. But it's hard to miss the bright tropical fruit that seagrass brings.
Seagrass is fantastic. And when you consider with a discount it costs me about $80 at Total Wine vs the insane price I’d have to pay for the other two (IF I could find them)- it’s no choice at all. Literally. 😊

I really wanted to try Seagrass, but took on Dovetail as my entry into Barrell’s products since it felt more suited for autumn. Jason, do you have a clear preference? You seems to have enjoyed both in your individual reviews. O-H!

Seagrass is my first Rye and It’s delicious only complaint is it’s extremely dry on the finish

I am a Bourbon over Rye guy with a High West Rendezvous to satisfy my rye needs (a nice fit fill, eh?). Given this I’ve been stewing over Pikesville vs Seagrass as my next rye to add, turns out I grabbed the high demand Dram last week though not tasted yet. I’m really lacking a deep whiskey bar where i can sample first, argh!
My order was 1) Barrel Seagrass 2) Midsummer Night's Dram 3) Blackened but I think my palate cheated on the objectivity. All of these are very different and I was able to tell rather quickly which was which and I have a visceral contempt of Blackened for its insipidly sophomoric marketing ploy. That cognition undoubtedly affected my objectivity so in the interest of fairness and transparency I'm disqualifying my results. 🤣 I'll try again with more competition to see if I can fool myself

I still see plenty of Seagrass near me. I been tempted but haven't pulled the trigger. I'm on another spending embargo now unfortunately. But based on price I'd pick it of these 3

I'm a huge Barrell fan so coming from me this may be obvious... but man if Barrell was known to the general bourbon buyer they'd be considered top tier... Between batches 24-28 and Seagrass and Dovetail? Man they know hoe to make a great product from the sum of its part...
I really do love the Seagrass. Was able to taste it at an event and bought a bottle the next week. You have me wanting to try that Blackened X Willett, though. Next level question, but how about the Four Gate Ruby Rye? That bottle blew me away. Definitely the highest price, but I don't regret paying for it at all.
Yeah that bottle is on another level. I'm sure it would do well.
