    OMG my brain just went crossed eyed following this info. whaaaaaah. i am here because i unplugged all the cords first and the liftcord went zzzzzzzip all the way up and into the lift mechainism inside top housing. been a delightful nightmare rethreading it all and i decided to look you up before i proceeded any further as i DO NOT want to go all through that again. thank you so much for this. from Mr Stupid 😂

    I shortened the blinds according to your video; however, when I pull the blinds down they do not stay in position but creep up one or two inches. How do I fix the tension? Other than that the blinds work perfectly.
    I cannot find any videos on adjusting tension neither can I find pictures of mechanisms to know how to adjust.

    • @lumino4734
      @lumino4734  3 года назад +1

      Hello,
      There isn't an easy way to fix the tension. The blinds are built on a spring mechanism. One thing people have tried before is adding weight to the bottom rail (placing weights inside the bottom rail). Please feel free to reach out to us at 1-877-687-2796 or support@luminodecor.com.
      If the item you shortened is not our item, then we sadly would not be able to assist with the mechanics.

    How do you replace a broken slat on these blinds ?? Every single slat has its own tension cord !

    • @lumino4734
      @lumino4734  2 года назад

      You will need to secure the lift cord (cord going through each slat) to prevent it from going into the headrail. You will need to remove the bottom rail plugs and essentially unstring your blind. Once you have moved the slats around, you can then restring the blind and place the bottom rail plugs back in place.

      In order to shorten the blinds, you will need to cut the strings. As for the extra slats, you can remove them, but then that involves extra steps.

    What do I do if one side is shorter that the other

    • @lumino4734
      @lumino4734  3 года назад

      Depends on if you mean it is uneven before or after the shortening. If before, then you would0 fully extend the blind, yank harshly on the side that is higher up, push all the way back up and pull all the way back down (might take a few repetitions). If it is uneven after the shortening, then you will need to pull out the tabs on the bottom rail and adjust so that it is even. This might mean trimming the higher side down a little to match up.

    How can you replace a broken slat with lift cord that has tension. Clip the lift cord with vise grips i guess.... day late. Dollar short. Have to buy all new blind. I can't imagine how many people have pulled out that plug at the bottom and had that dam lift cord zip right up into the Box at the top mechanism

    • @lumino4734
      @lumino4734  3 года назад

      The lift cord is secured to the bottom rail plug. Unless the lift cord is cut, it should stay connected to the plug. If you wanted to replace a broken slat, then you would need to clamp the lift cord down somewhere near the top. Then you could remove the lift cord from the plus and through the slats to the broken one. One the slat has been replaced, slide the lift cord through all the slats again and secure to the bottom rail plug.
