It's easy to agree with you, but surely Trump's win changes things? Trump may well get both sides to stop fighting, but he won't "permit" Russian advances beyond territory currently taken. Russia has gained a huge advantage in acquiring a second rail route to Crimea and taken 80% of the land Putin wanted. Surely this is enough?

Sincere question. Not being snarky! Is the accuracy of FAB bombs grossly exaggerated? Seems like an FAB-500 bomb with a cheap time delayed fuse (Proven WWIi tech) would bury itself in the ground before detonating. Resulting shock wave would liquify anyone in a basement for at least 25-50 meters. Imagine the underground kill zone of an FAB-1500!
Ingredients: For the sushi rice: 1 cup sushi rice 1 ¼ cups water 2 tablespoons rice vinegar 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon salt For the rolls: 4 sheets nori (seaweed) 8 oz imitation crab meat, shredded 1 small cucumber, julienned 1 avocado, thinly sliced 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional, for creamier filling) For assembly: Bamboo sushi mat (covered in plastic wrap for easy rolling) Sesame seeds (optional) Instructions: Prepare the sushi rice: Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rice and water in a pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 18-20 minutes, until the rice is tender and water is absorbed. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold this into the cooked rice, then let the rice cool to room temperature. Assemble the California rolls: Place a sheet of nori on the bamboo mat, shiny side down. Wet your hands (to prevent sticking) and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, pressing gently but evenly. Sprinkle a few sesame seeds over the rice (optional). Flip the nori and rice so the rice is facing down and the nori is on top. Place a line of crab meat, cucumber, and avocado along one edge of the nori. Roll the sushi: Lift the edge of the bamboo mat and roll tightly, tucking the fillings inside as you go. Press gently to shape, but don’t squeeze too hard. Slice and serve: Use a sharp, wet knife to slice the roll into 8 even pieces. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi if desired. Enjoy your homemade California rolls!

That's just not how the Russians use their air force apparently. Which does make a certain amount of sense when you consider that the Soviet air force was predominantly fighter and interceptor aircraft with the CAS role being filled by helicopters, which is a practice we've seen both in Syria and Ukraine while the air force serves to help keep the skies clear and as what amounts to extreme range artillery. On the flipside it's not especially safe to fly in a CAS role in Ukraine, there are still elements of air defence around, they still have many drones and if all else fails small arms/anti-tank weapons will bring down a helicopter if need be. Perhaps the biggest contributor is the lack of need for it in attrition warfare, I remember seeing plenty of footage last year of helicopters blunting Ukrainian offensives, similarly in the early stages of the Kursk fiasco helicopters were used (and brought down) blunting that offensive but in terms of offensive deployments I've only seen them in the first months of the war while Russia was still conducting manoeuvre operations.
Who says they don't? plenty of SU-25s making rounds on the frontline but the Issue is they fire unguided rockets with no accuracy, they can't get close to the defensive lines because of MANPADS so they fire rockets 5kms away, they just figured they could use the same firepower with artillery and FABs in a more efficient way.
