If you look at the Japanese drift guys they use a bearing oil rather than grease granted the bearing could be cheaper or could be too thick a grease in them ?
Hey it Shannon. If the bearings were packed with grease from the factory you need to clean that out. Blast them with some parts cleaner and use some highspeed bearing oil to lube them up. You'll be good to go. Hope it helps.
Thanks for the support! I may do some of the front suspension parts. Just makes me nervous as I sometimes drive this car like an idiot! :) I like that plastic to flex in there! I keep hoping for a full chassis kit from ReveD to build!
you can take the seal off of one side clean them out put a couple of drops of speed oil in them leaving the seal out put them back in with the sealed side facing out great less drag not too much oil is important and it is very important not to over tighten them thank for the videos troy chris
amazing car i would love to have one but right now i have a sprint 2 that im going to buy a conversion kit for, also do you have any recommendations for wheels and tires?
Your doing good with body choices and that body wrap for the TRX-4 sport. I went to that website and they no longer sell that wrap for theTRX-4 sport. They only have two wraps that I would never buy or just a couple stickers. Not sure why they stopped but wish I could have got it.
Why does it shake so bad turning to the right but turning left it seems really smooth? Gyro and servo seem to not be happy with something when it comes to wheels turning to the right 🧐
I know it's been a long time since you made this video but i can't help to share a tip. Bearings need to roll a bit. For faster results switch the back bearings to the front knuckles, and the other way around.
what kind of servo are you running? looks like its not happy working with the gyro. I had a Savox on my setup at first and had that same wobble when the gyro was turned up over 50%. Made the switch to a Yokomo one and it's working great now.
Thanks! Yes, it is a savox. Certainly has a wobble that is normally smoothed by setting it to a smooth return. However, I have some slop in the steering that I am not sure where it is coming from. Still - I agree that a better servo would help.
hi Troy, i got question, after use bigger bearing, is MST RMX stock front axle fit and can be use to that ReveD knuckle? it is 5 mm inner diameter bearing right and stock RMX axle also 5mm diameter? but don't have clue on length of axle
@@RoadsideRC thanks for your fast reply, i saw you were using also the reved axle, but did you ever check if stock MST axle, pin and plastic disc also match to use, so there is no play, appreciate your info
@@RoadsideRC Yeah this too…I build my own 3D printed knuckles and if the bearing don’t sit completely straight it cuts some speed, though when we talk about machined aluminum it’s almost impossible for the bearings to not sit right!
WD-40 will take out the factory grease and make them spin much better. You can always put in thinner lubricant after you hit it with WD-40 if you're concerned about wear on the bearings. I've seen people pop out the rubber seal and WD-40 the bearings and just run like that. Other than that, you could get ceramic bearings.
Thank you for the tip! After this video, I did 2 tests. Various bearings - which one is better, and high speed bearing oils, which one is better. Very interesting results!
Bearings can wear in, especially if they have some excesssive/ heavier grease. Drive Hard!
Great ideal for the testing protocol.
Thank you!
I have plans for a whole bearing test coming up to see what happens.

Those parts look awesome and the chevelle looks bad as 👍
Thank you!
Agree - the grease/oil might be contributing to this. I have some testing planned now.
I wuld love to pick up a drift car one day Love seeing now old Cheval in the background Warms my heart
Awesome man! Thanks!
Avid bearing are always my go to on special projects. They have options and great customer support. They ship very fast.
Thanks! I will check them out.
Interesting results. At least it’s more even now... driving looked good!
I have some different bearings that just showed up. I'm going to do a test and see what happens with different designs and oils.
cool upgrade and install
Thank you!

100% bet the new bearings have thick grease.
Good point!
There is no telling what was in those bearings out of that package.
Thanks for the tip!!!
Makes sense!
great testing video! if you have time could you do more reved parts on mst? such as those front/rear lower arms, i wonder how they fit in a rmx
Thanks for the support!

What about a little oil on the bearings
Agree! I might need to check that!
Wow getting fancy now
Ha! Yeah, and I said I wouldn't go fancy either.

Thanks for the add.
NICE UPGRADE interesting test ,, lol
Thanks!
Had to try to figure a way to make the spin repeatable. Using my finger had A LOT of variation.

Double check - for the price of your conversion kit, you might be able to get one of these chassis! They are
Roadside RC thank you so much for the help I love the channel!

Interesting! I am surprised. Perhaps they are just out of stock now.
I agree - the rest of their wraps are a little too much for me.

@@rcmindset2876 Thank you!
yo haha, just saw your reddit post yesterday, and now i randomly pick your video....
Nice!
Knuckles aren’t listed anymore, will any yd2 knuckle and axle work?
The knuckles are still available - just on backorder now: www.amainhobbies.com/reve-d-aluminum-sg-front-knuckle-set-rv-rd-001sg/p1407525

At the time of this video, the front end of the car was really starting to get worn. Some new rod ends and ball studs helped a lot.
I attempted to use these same knuckles but had barely any angle after installation
I didn't have that issue. What was restricting the angle?
@@RoadsideRC steering turnbuckles.
@@RoadsideRC no idea how you accomplished this with mst rack and such

Did you figure out why the front spins are so different? My front tires do the exact same thing.. Thanks love there videos!
Yes! There was something bent in the axle or hub. When I replaced the factory hubs with these ReveD items, they then spun the same.
What are those weels
They are MST adjustable offset wheels.
Did they have a bit of play and did the bearings stick out a 1mm if you used the 5×10×4
No play, but yes, they stuck out with the wider bearing.
@@RoadsideRC ok mate thanks. What holes did you use on them

could i just use the axle set on my old oem knuckles ? for getting a little wider wheel optic, or is there any other and cheaper option.....
I believe that would work yes, you may need a different set of bearings for it.

@@kosasihjames Hello - no, I did not check that.
But the knuckles don't affect the rolling, the bearings do...
Depends on if the old plastic has been warped over time.

what type for mst rmx2.0s on reveD bro? i use rmx too
Great - the RMX is a fun car.
I put the links to the parts in the description.
For the RMX you want the MST ATK front knuckles :)
These have worked well so far!
Its probably cause the bearings you used come with grease in them. Open one up an you will see
You might be right!
Those were new bearing I would just back the tire Burt off a hair the rim could just be to tight against the hub
You might be right!
