In SW4, Magoichi and Masamune are easy S tier. It's INSANE how much buff they got, firing infinite bullets their way through countless enemies was incredibly satisfying 😂
Pretty much the entire cast got buffed due to hyper attacks. The problem i had with most characters prior was the lack of crowd control and not so much 1v1
Doing my boy Sakon dirty 😂, he is high A, low S for me. Otherwise really nice list, keep up the work mate, more Warriors content is always welcome.

Gracia is my favourite just because I like characters that fight with their fist (that's why I love Monk-type characters in other actions games) and Gracia has useful spells too. Sadly, she really does have the worst unintentional moveset (Because Yoshimoto is a joke character). I didn't remember Okuni beeing so bad, maybe I should try her again next time I play.

@@KoeiKollectionher WO3U moveset is still her best version. They gave her a shield barrier that heals her and some other special air attack that I can't remember right now.
Gracia was indeed quite unenjoyable to play on her debut game, but she got quite a buff in later installments.
Solid list. I feel like Nobunaga's moveset is handled better in Orochi 1 and 2. Also imo his VA and outfit the best in this game.

I would love to see your thoughts on Samurai Warriors 2 Empire gameplay. Since you more prefer more realistic weapons and characters.
Amazing list. SW2 is one of my favorite Warriors games. My mains are Nobunaga, Kotaro, Hanzo, Mitsuhide, and the Maedas. I probably put Nobunaga in S but I agree that his Musou is good for taking down a lot of enemies but not good for taking down officers.
So This game was just my old go to, and I'll confess to this, Yoshimoto Imagawa is god awful as a character... But, His playstyle was really fun for me, I don't really understand how I reached that conclusion, totally agree he's F Tier tho.
Tip to play Yoshimoto in SW2XL, when you use his ultimate Musou(yellow aura Musou) , wait until your Musou about to end, press his special attack (play death) and stay still on ground watching your enemy got wacked by his Musou
I found Yoshimoto to actually be a decent character when you fully fill his musou bar. You can use the play dead skill to prolong the effect of the level 3 musou bar and believe me: it deals HEAVY damage when properly used. I think he is on F tier because he’s seen as a joke, but I’m taking about him from a moveset practical point of view. He ain’t bad but he’s nit great either, he’s slightly below avg imo
I never played SW 1 or 3 and just played 4 II for the first time since I'm always an Xbox person. My BF just got me SW1 and am playing it for the first time. Man Noh got done dirty going in to 2. She's so much better in 1. I'm glad Gracia got better in 4 cause she's kind of yikes in 2 lol. Maybe controversial pick, while agreeing with the other Fs my other F would be Mitsunari. He is my least favorite playstyle yet gets the favoritism treatment getting a god form in WO4 and in Warriors All Stars.
Yoshimoto is an mid-tier corresponding to C~B grades depending on how use it, and the LV3 Musou is very useful. It's a hard character because you can use "Lying Down" to extend Musou usage time. 🤭
Toshi story was the most short story mode in speedrun to clear.
Yoshimoto is very worst character like Goemon Ishikawa. Keiji Maeda is S.
Takakatsu and Musashi are musou spamming characters. Since musou is safe and strong, so are these 2 characters 🤣
These 2 guys can fight 100 hyper generals at the same time! Just R1 to fill musou gauge and O to obliterate everything.
Great tier list. All my favourite characters are in S. I'd put Gracia and Motochika up a tier, though gimmicky, can be powerful in the right hands. I'd lower Hideyoshi by a tier too due to weak damage output.
Excellent video! Hope you'll keep doing tier lists - Dynasty Warriors & Warriors Orochi as well, and not just character ranking but other elements such as ranking games in the franchise, etc.
Personally, I'd put the entire C tier (except Oichi) in S/A tier alongside Ginchiyo, Kenshin and Kanetsugu, and swap out Toshiie, Tadakatsu and Nagamasa, as I'm not the biggest fan of their movesets (I need a bit of magic in there) :D

I like Okuni, one of my favorites (along with Ina andOichi) in Orochi Warriors.
And No is my favorite of all times.
For me, Gracia is very good, maybe not many people know that Gracia is the character with the highest damage when he mouted horse, hes basic attack do so much damage when mount horse

I was going to say the same thing honestly I only like using her on the horses. But also the fire damage also adds up over time too if you can keep them bouncing. Other than that she's meh.
Yukamura is easily tier S if you know how to pull out his indefinite combo. My record is 103 hits in a row on kg
Pretty cool tier list. I've never played base Samurai Warriors 2, but I did play a ton of Xtreme Legends as a kid and recently revisited it. I agree with all your D and E tier picks, plus most of your C Tier (I'd just personally put Oichi and Masamune Date up to B Tier). Yoshimoto belongs in F Tier imo but I remember I actually quite liked Okuni so personally I'd bump her up to like C Tier or so.
Personally my S Tier is probably Hanzo Hattori, Kotaro Fuma, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Nobunaga Oda, and maybe Mitsuhide Akechi. I also recall really loving how Nene plays but not enough for S Tier, I mostly just found it really fun to mess around with her ability to transform into enemies and challenge myself to beat levels as a random goon.
Gracia is really good with ice. She is meant for musou spamming and c1
Ice is good on any character with a stationary musou that can cause enemies to be pushed away.

I discovered this Musashi in SW4. It's a shame how Koei poorly treats my boy, he has more character development in Warriors Orochi than in his original franchise.
For me, Tadakatsu, Musashi and Toshiie is The only S tier for me. Because those 3 are the most favourite in my opinion The rest of it, i agree with you cause me to already has played all this character.
gracia special moves are op bro, u only need hit hyper tadakatsu 3 or 4 times and hes dead

Well explained & nice video bro, but i think the title should be ranking my favorite sw2 character movesets because you mainly rank them based on that.
My S tiers is easily Hanzo, Nobunaga. Hanzo is just so good, especially in XL. His specials are spammable, usually resulting in the enemy releasing their guard prematurely. His clones can be operated to some degree of individuality (compared to the other ninja) which offer great coverage. It usually allows me to send them in to fight a hyper armored boss and fight them from a distance or mix up their defense capabilities. In mercenary mode, Tier 4 abilities he is even more lightning fast....zipping so much that I can chain his normal strings multiple times after launching the opponent from the final hit. I'm just upset he doesn't keep his full moveset from SW1. Also his shrunken spin does hefty damage against a wall. Plus coolest lines ever and Ninja path. The 1st person I got all 8 unique swords in the mercenary mode. Perfect cutscenes too.
For Nobunaga...just great lines. Great battle cutscenes. His lightsaber sounding sword makes me feel powerful. His specials are great. I just love stabbing through the enemy so much just to get his tier 3 sword charge...so much so I always yell "No guarding" whenever I initiate it. I love they gave him his SW1 full movement under the charge. Unfortunately his musou sucks. I one point I thought I mastered it (being able to lock onto a single enemy) by holding the guard button during it, but maybe that was just a fluke. Was only able to do it 1x
I personally am putting Keiji lower. As much as I liked him in SW1, his English voice screeches my ears. I will also say Hideyoshi and Kotaro has always been the most annoying to fight in my experience. Best Musou imo are Nagamasa, Toshiie, Keiji, Kanetsugu, Musashi, and Masamune
I will only disagree in the case of Masamune and Katsuie. Masamune musou in lv 2 when you do that in front of a enemy (even Tadakatsu on high difficulty) you can delete anything, at least we talk about survival...
Then Katsuie and his special "bomb-effect" make every (even grabs) a explosion attack, can do a lot of damage and multi-hits all over the place.
Some other characters have a great Musou, but pretty much that is (is not like every one spam the infinite 6th strong attack of Oichi thanks of his jump ability)
When i played samurai Warriors 1 and 2, back then, i felt like both Tadakatsu and Meiji had the Lu Bu felling. Meiji cuz of his kinda fast aoe attacks and Tadakatsu cuz of his heavy hitting abillities plus his battlefield presence. Loved both characters
Akshually :nerd_face: Imagawa is a total S tier. Get a good damage on his weapon and try walling an enemy, with full Charge 3 (or charge 4, depending how you say it, basically that one part where he spins then kick the ball), and with perfect positioning walling your opponent, you can make the ball hit more than once and hits more, hence dealing more damage. :nerd_face: (no but seriously, the damage actually handled Tadakatsu Honda easily whenever I play him with such strat)
Hanzo S , Masamune C , Sakon C , Kotaro A , magoichi B , and hideyoshi B ????? ; I agree with all video except those , you have to replay with them again dude .
If SW2 ever has S tire characters, they gotta be tatakatsu, keiji and musashi, these are the three who can recover a lot of their musou gauge without having to fight enemies. Garcia can do it too but her base stats are too low, not fun. Then yukimura is solid A+ character, he has no weaknesses, has a perfect move set, and has the ability to summon his horse! If kunoichi was in SW2 based on her move set in SW1 she is easily A+ too, much stronger and faster than nene.
Toshie maeda , I've never played this character, still... Tadakatsu and mushashi are my favourite characters... They are easy to control even in keyboards
Samurai Warriors 2 Empires, Dynasty Warriors 4 and 3 are the GOATs.

Slightly different but the characters in SW4 that were in SW2 mostly have the same Movesets, swapping out the special moves for the hyper attacks etc

I really liked this tier list, but then he said that Kojiro and Musashi are in the S tier... and this straight up put this list itself into the S tier! Musashi has always been my favorite character, especially in this game! Good choice, hats off, man!

I'm so glad you placed musashi in S tier, like my boy is not getting the love it deserves in the following SW games, how can you not? when almost all his move set breaks guards, like he's got 4 of it, bundle that with brutal Musuo attack if you get caught by that its death. plus 2 very good special skiils counter and musuo regen and man, him using reversal as core skill is why he's the greatest swordsman in all the lands. in my almost 20 years of playing Sw2 I never lost a battle playing as musashi. not even once!

for me, Gracia is S tier. if you trap an enemy against a wall and use R1 + X 3x you can insta kill almost every enemy, even in the highest difficult
