  • When I recently had the choice to take a direct 777-200ER from London to San Francisco, or to take a 767-300ER via Chicago, I chose the connection purely because I wanted to hear the PW4060's on United's 767 growl!
This morning, I arrived early to London Heathrow's Terminal 2, to find complete chaos at check-in. Security lines zig-zagged across the terminal, and it took nearly an hour to even get to the Gold Track security line. Fortunately, a tranquil lounge awaited thereafter, and I was soon on my way to Chicago.
Our flight took us off from a slightly snowy London, and straight through the clouds on a nice easy flight west. Coming into Chicago, we landed to the east and eventually arrived at the new extension of terminal 5.

I love the sound of those P&W engines on the 767-300s. Brings me such nostalgia whenever I get on my United flights to Lima, Peru. I'm so sad theyre phasing them out, they're the absolute perfect aircraft to fly!

Yeah I love it too! I still remember my first trip on a 767 - London Gatwick to Puerto Plata in Dominican Republic on Britannia Airways in the 90s. Great aircraft!
I think you’re safe with a bit of time until United retires theirs - they’re just completing the retrofit of Polaris and Premium Plus (some units yet to go in for conversion) so I think they still have some years in them yet!

They’re the perfect size! Comfortable in all classes. I’ll be sad when they eventually do get replaced, but it seems we have a few years left on them still!
