Met Chuck Connors in Tucson as he was coming off the plane and I was waiting to board. I recognized him right off and gave him a big smile, he was so polite and returned my acknowledgment of him with the biggest grin and smile. He was a great guy.

Thanks. Johnny Crawford is not visiting Connor's grave these days as he is suffering from Alzheimer’s. I believe he is 73. The latest news says his wife is now caring for him at home.
They were doing fund raisers for him not that long ago to help him and his wife cope with the expenses of his treatment ect... Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. I hope they find a cure when they finally map the human brain.
I watched his show as a kid and still do! Not only a good actor, but he was an expert shot with his rifle! Good character too. Loved his show! Can't get enough! His son ( in his shows ) was a cool kid growing up beside him! Together they made a good team!!

My mother met Chuck Connors when he was a baseball player. She remembered him as being shy and tall and kind natured. She remained a fan until he died.vvwe also loved him in move over darling with Doris day and James garnet.
I love The Rifleman. Such a good wholesome show. I've been watching it almost everyday for years and never get tired of it. It still brings me to tears. Such a wonderful story with wonderful actors. For a couple hours a day, Mr McCain, Mark, Mica, and the rest of North Fork bring bring a great experience in my life. I'm sure I'll be visiting North Fork for the rest of my life. This was great Steve. I was born in '58, but loved watching The Rifleman in reruns with my brothers and my dad. I remember Chuck Connors well, and I'm so impressed with his careers! Playing baseball, serving during WWII, playing NBA for 2 yrs, and THEN having a successful acting career? Who'd have known? He was a very impressive man, and thank you for showing us his final resting place. Does he have family nearby? It seems like such a non-descript kind of grave, for someone who was larger than life.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. The Rifleman was a big part of my life and now my familiars as well. Chuck always tried to instill good morals and God into the show. Something that we do not see much of in today's world.
We see almost nothing of it anymore. This is what happens when Hollywood is taken over by hedonists and Marxists. It's just the way it is, but there are still some great people there who are involved in making decent and beautiful movies and the public reacts very well to those.
The Rifleman is still a great show. I wasn't born when it aired but thanks to my parents i watch it weekly, as they use to warch reruns on Saturdays. Both of them grew up with it. Now i watch it during the week and weekends on MeTv. Father and son on the show has such a great relationship.

I was born in '64 so I grew up watching all the great western movies and tv shows as reruns though I didn't know they were reruns until I got older. The rifleman was a favorite of mine. My dad God rest his soul loved western shows so I watched them all. Laramie, The Cimmaron ect....and so on. I search then out today as well because tv certainly isn't what it once was. I believe from the mid 1950's to the early 1980's was the best time for t.v.. The golden years being the 70's for movies and t.v.. They'll never make shows like that again unfortunately and that is sad in my opinion. Thank you for quick look at what I believe was one of the greats.

I watched the Rifleman mostly to see Johnny Crawford. When I became older I appreciated the show more.
Sorry to hear about Johnny Crawford illness. My brother had that illness. He died last month from the coplications of CORONA virus.

I watched RIFLEMAN growing up in the fifty, sixties. I still watch today here in central Fla. every afternoon. Also, Luke Halpen from Flipper was my neighbor for many years. He told me he was moving to South Fla. to become a boat Captain.Your good friend Vinny in good old Fla.

I was born in 1961 but the Rifleman was one of my dad's favorite shows so I use to watch the replays with my dad even know I watch the Rifleman everyday I enjoy watch his son Mark McCain they were the perfect match they truly looked like father and son ❤
