Hello and thanks for this video Rob. I'm not a divers' fan, but I really like this brand. You always can recognize a Doxa at first glance. And even from far away, because of the colors used. 😅 A bit like Nomos, for dress watches.
Do like I do...save up! I give it two years, if I still want it after I've saved up te money I know it's good. You don't have to put it on the credit card.
Doxa need to make a non COSC version of this. As a watch enthusiast I dont wear a watch more than a week before swapping to another so... Plus I have a phone or quartz watches if I want real accuracy.
@@jacobt1027Yes, I have a 300T and IMO it's the better watch and buy but a lot of people like the more 'vintage' look of the SUB 300. The COSC aspect is a waste of money IMO.
Doxa doesn't build watches. They assemble them. Chinese case, band and miscellaneous parts. Swiss movement. Designed, cased and assembled in Switzerland. It's "Swiss" but only by an inch, not a mile. This is at best, an $800 watch. Hard pass.
So same as almost all brands. Well most don’t even build them. Also Doxa is owned by Jenny so not even independent. When it comes to watches you either like the watch or you don’t. Picking any of them apart is just silly.
@@RandomRobReviews Doxa is a hodge-podge of random, unknown, unnamed faceless manufacturers. This absolutely matters once price enters luxury territory. No one should be expected to pay top dollar for anything that was quickly stamped out in a Chinese mill. For the same money (or less), I'd look at Seiko, Longines, Oris or Sinn.
Those brands are also done in a similar way and are faceless. This is why I almost never get in a back and forth on this subject. Once the curtain is pulled the “wizzard” can be seen. If you go down the yellow brick road, try to never meet the wizzard and be happy.
Calm down crybaby!!! I have a 300T divingstar, and case, bracelet, clasp are all quality, the 300T has the milled clasp, unlike the normal 300. Many watch companies source their parts in other countries, so that in not a big deal. Its not a freaking Patek. Breitling puts "modified" eta 2824 in their watches and the lowest pricetag in Breitling lineup is 4000 euros, thats the real theft. I agree that this doxa 300 is a little overpriced, probably because is COSC and the 300T is not COSC. I paid for my 300T around 1700 euros brand new from the AD and its the superior watch, 1200m WR, milled clasp and diver extension, bracelet is the same.
I hate that too just come right out and say it what the movt is, I think Tudor also started being a B with the BB41 line hiding the info whether it's a sellita or eta
@@jacobt1027 a base model Sellita 200 costs about $135 new in the box. It's not a premium or even particularly reliable and robust movement having soft alloys in parts of the winding gears. It isn't going to be an ETA made movement because they are not in the ETA group of brands.
I think the microbrands have shown that many of these affordable Swiss made timepieces are still overpriced.
Just bought the Seestern 600T (orange dial) for $117 on the anniversary sale. I agree.
@@fiddy_watchguy You have my sympathies.

Agreed....

That's my jam! In yellow too 🤩 I know the 200 is cheaper but I'm a sucker for vintage vibes and cushion cases
Great beater/weekend watch!
I will always love these Doxa Subs.

I love the sub 300 doxa
very nice look old fashion watch,a little expensive for me,but i like it in yellow
I owned a Carribbean Sub300. Very cool watch. Might have to rebuy it because lunacy

I'm not usually big on the yellow dials, but this one looks pretty good 👌
I think this version is the best !!!
I am NOT a dive watch enthusiast....but...and It's the case that works for me. Makes the bezel...which I don't care for less in your face.
Bummer this one doesn’t have push buttons on the clasp, friction clasps are dumb

they do. 300t for 1800ish usd. Though they don't have the domed crystal

Just buy the seestern …these are depreciating assets 😉
Only $2500. What a steal! Not!

$2490 and an anonymous movement!?
What? It's a Selitta/ETA like what tons of other swiss made watches in the price bracket uses. far from an "anonymous" movement

Your opening made me think of that line lol.
For $2500 they should’ve upgraded the clasp.
