Would you consider lens replacement surgery or have you had it? Is being free of glasses even that important to you?

I had tri-focal lens replacement in November 2018. The surgery, 2 completely pain free 10 minute procedures was carried out at the Praga Medica Clinic in Prague. It was and still is superb.
I think the total cost then including flights and accommodation was well under 4k which also included laser incisions, it has been worth every penny.
I mentioned to you on another video thread that earlier this month I suddenly got a nasty case of PVD in my right eye. ATM I'm waiting to see how things progress, if I find that it doesn't improve at all I will be contacting the Praga Medica clinic to see what options they may have me.

Richard, can you give an update on your PVD. Also may I ask your age at time of surgery?

I had IOL procedure done in April 2023, still not recovered properly & was made Monovision without being advised of the drawbacks in advanced. Ive still not got my distance vision back as I expected. I have to use specs more than previously which completely defeats the object. Very disappointed with the results 😢

After my ICL I notice some flickering in my left eye in the dark. This flickering is close to my central vision just slightly to the left and up.
I see this flickering when I watch a movie in the cinema or look at my Phone when the room is dark. It looks kinda lika a dot, but it is flickering from lighter to darker colours so It is noticeable.
My boyfriend says he has the same but I noticed mine now after my icl. He hasnt has anything done to his eyes. I dont know if I had It before icl, but I dont think so. Is this normal?
Might be pvd? Traction on the retina? Have you heard this before from any patient? You think it has anything dp to with the icl?
I know it is hard for you to tell me what exactly is going on without examing my eyes. But I was wondering if you had any simular experience.

Hi. PVD related lights are more like arc of light that flashes for a second in the peripheral outer edge of the vision. This doesn’t sound like your problem. Depending on exactly what the flickering is like i wonder if it could be reflections from the ICL. An examination will of course give you more piece of mind.

I've had the lense replacement 5 days ago in Toronto and now I can see up close with way better detail and I could also see distance better. But I'm still in my healing phase.

I don’t know of any conclusive research or convincing suggestion that it would make things better or worse.

Hello, I m 1 week and a day post op! I m in my 40's. The procedure is expensive roughly about 10 thousand dollars. I no longer need glasses for distance but my up close vision is still very blurry at the moment. It's uncomfortable to look at computer screens and phones ( I believe it's the white light or blue light.) I m still taking drops = if you have any questions, I would love to help you

@@jrdock12 Hello! I am about 4 months post now. I love not needing glasses!! Being able to see far is great. I do have a few dislikes that I'm still experiencing. Night driving is not great at all. I still see halos around lights, depending on light type. Cars with HD lights blind me. I have what I call a "frost affect"! For example, when you re defrosting your windows and the center is clear, but the outside is still cloudy. Secondly, I'm unable to focus on any text (no matter how large) 4 inches in front of my face. I'm trying to trust the process but, on my follow, up visit I was told I may need Lasik (I was shocked). I little dishearten right now but I m giving it till January hopefully it ll keep getting better

Thank you for the update! I am scheduled for mine in January. Still a bit nervous about it. I hope the rest of your healing journey goes well and that you get the best outcome possible!

Hi. I’m not taking Bromelain actually. After I ran out I was planning to buy a further 6 month batch to try but never got round to it.

Premium Multifocal/EDOF etc lenses have been available for around 10 years and are used regularly for Cataract surgery and lens replacement surgery. I recently got EDOF lens for both eyes targeting blended vision (cataracts) and now no more glasses - but this is not new as you seem to imply. Also Lasik seems to have nasty complications for around 25%+ of recipients. I would never have that.

Great channel. Just stumbled on this. Thanks. Quick question if I may.. I have a monofocal lens set for distance in my left eye and need cataract surgery on my right nearsighted eye. I want to remain glasses free. Would a multifocal in my right eye be a good strategy to maintain reading ability?
